Since releasing this Ive done a couple videos going deeper into these mods! And check out some of my other content and don’t forget to subscribe! Thanks for watching!
My wife and i both have mt07s and after just getting back from a 3500km round trip i can safely say we both loved every minute of it. We chose as many windimg twisting roads as we could being that thats pretty much what theyre designed for but even the motorway kms we did werent a problem. No wind protection didnt worry either of us at all. I actually live the wind. Different strokes for different folks i guess
I've been trying to figure out the right bike to get since I will usually be using it for commuting and just having fun, but multiple times a year I intend to take some longer road trips (500-1000 miles) you've given me confidence that with some upgrades, this bike really is going to be perfect
It is an all around a great base bike for sure, canyon runs, stunting, some light touring, great power for the highway or booting around town.. only thing it lacks in would be a track bike but the mod list is endless and can tailor to your needs 🤙🏻
I bought my MT07 replacing my MT03 which I outgrew in about a year, so I was not expecting to make any touring but after a few rides I decided otherwise and rode from Hermosillo, Mexico to Torrance, CA (1,200 km) it was a nice trip but I could have used a windshield and maybe cruise control but for now I'm still riding it stock but soon I might get a Windshield since I'm planning to do longer tour, also the lack of storage is a problem but for now I only have a saddle bag.
I could go for a nice ride like that about now. But it’s freezing cold here in Canada😢😢 I’m soon going to do a video talking about my windshield, don’t forget to subscribe to see it closer!
Bro that’s good to know. I’m thinking about gettin an MT07 for this reason. I live in Tucson and go to Hermosillo a lot. I have a Honda Shadow 750 but it does not have a lot of passing power on the highway.
My idea is to purchase the mt-07 and order the fairing and tank from the tracer 700. Should be able to get it from JP or EU. The Tracer tank is almost a gallon larger and the fairing gives much better wind protection. Everything else should be the same.
i know this video is a couple of years old... but i also have a mt07 with the same corbin seat. Did you ever get a tail bag or anything you'd recommend for this bike with that seat? Or any soft saddle bags?
Thanks man! I didn’t even knew they sold a 700 version of it. The 900 GTs are nice looking. Could see myself getting one in the future. Or a tenere 700.
Yamaha should bring the Tracer 7 GT to North America. They could help make sport touring "cool" again with a bike MSRP just under 10K. They should do it before someone beats them to the punch.
I have Givi side and top case but I think Shad is the better way to go . Shad mostly covers Yamaha and Triumph bikes .. I have a Givi tank bag too.. My Puig windscreen was too low but it got wiped out by a deer.. I then went with the very nice mounting system of the Mad Stad windscreen but I did not like their crude round windscreens to a mounted a Triumph Tiger 1200 windscreen to my Mad Stad brackets.. I also have a Luggage rack on top of my top case for a big dry bag with sleeping bag and tent.. I have an air Hawk Air Cushing keeps you comforatble for 8 hours.. I have not mounted my crash bars or Denali lights yet.. or my heated grips.. In Europe Yamaha sells the MT-07 Tracer with all the toruting gear a longer swing arm. Plus Yamaha does sell the MT-09 Tracer and MT-09 Tracer GT
Love it man! As much as I’d love to continue building my MT as a decent touring bike, I’ve been finding myself wanting to get back into the dirt/wanting to build my MT to practice stunts on. I could totally see myself buying the tenere.
@@JaayRides I want a Tenere too .. I stoped in my Local Mega Power Sports Dealer two weeks ago the showroom was amost bare except for a bunch of Made in China dirt bikes.. A new Brand for them just so they could have something on the showroom floor.. I have never seen a T-7 in real life.. The FZ-07 really sucks on dirt roads with 24.5 degree fork rake and 17" front tire.. You could Mod an Indian FTR-1200 for trouring .. I like the Rally Model better with 18" rear and 19" front tires..
How much of a difference did the Corbin seat make, I was thinking of getting one and I can do about 2-hour rides now without one. I want to be able to do a 8 hour ride without too much discomfort.
Hey man I got a video on my channel about it! And its made a considerable difference. I remember before I got it, I did a four hour ride and was absolutely toasted. Now Ive spent literally all day in the saddle. Of course you still get sore after awhile but it really makes a difference. Keep in mind that the seat is more "firm" rather then soft and plushy and your butt will conform to the seat. Let me know if you got any more questions!
Sir, I have a 2021 Storm Fluo. Ive been trying to find either the paint code for the rims or the paint name. Any chance you might know it? I see the red trimming on the corbin seat, im guessing its just plain Red? Hope im making sense. Anyway consider me a subscriber. Greetings from the USA.. Ride Safe my friend.
Sorry man I don’t know the paint code, on the Corbin it’s actually orange. I just winged it on ordering lol. I think thru revzilla you can find the paint code. Appreciate it, you ride safe as well!
Hello from california. I am looking for a bike for freeway commuting and some long distance travel that is light and twin engine. I have considered Yamaha t700/ ktm adventure 890r. These bikes are middle eight, not light . Off-road capable but i am not sure if I want it ride a 460lb off-road. I also consider ktm duke 890r street bike , but this bike maybe just a tiny too big engine for me however weight is perfect w a nice front wp fork. I just sat on this mt 07 a week ago and I think I found my bike. Right amount of cc and light where I can pick it up if I drop it. For sure a gigantic wind guard lol, usb and a saddle bag. And off I go!! Yup, no heavy bikes for me.
Yea I think it’s totally doable to tour on one. The wind can be over whelming if your going super fast but to just cruise, it’s not bad at all. Thank you for watching, and enjoy your new bike!
Consider how your gonna ride too... if your going to be in more dirt, then the DR650 or KTM 390 will be a better starting point. If its going to always be highway than the Honda or Yamaha will be better.

Love that back rest for the passenger. My wife definitely wouldn't want to ride pillion on that stock seat.

Yeah please let us know
Any update on this?!

Wish I could buy a Corbin seat here in the UK
Thank you for watching! I was under the impression they ship worldwide!
Nice upgrades mate. I wish Yamaha brought the Tracer 700 (touring version of the Fz07) over stateside and Canada

That’s stupid af lol

For those looking for a budget touring which would you choose between MT-07, Honda CB500x, Suzuki DR650, KTM 390 Adv? Thanks

@@gromit576 yeah man no problem!
How tall are you mate?
6’1
A person can “tour” on anything. Ideal no. But people have gone around the world on everything imaginable.
That’s for sure! I have done a lot less touring then some folks on a super basic setup. Unfortunately I can’t get out as much as I would like too 😢
Been looking at the Corbin, the stock seats suck ass.
It’s a lot more comfy that’s for sure! Just note it is more firmer than soft. But way better then the stock seat
@@JaayRides perfect that's what I want. Stock is way to light so you feel the pan way to fast.
Ride the bike more its like a pedal cycle sore to start with but goes away with time
Yes for sure. Have done a lot of riding since posting this video lol
