Yeah, I miss my Mt07 so much. It was my first bike. I upgraded to Zx6r and dont get me wrong, Ninja is good good. But THE sound of Mt07, the light weighr, easy manipulation, the torquee!!omg I miss it so much. Kinda regret selling it and buying the zx6r. I would recommend the Mt07 with all my heart🤤🥰🔥gorgeous bike

I was doing research on different bikes for beginners and ones that could suit a shorter rider and I came across the MT-07 and when I started researching the MT-07 that’s when I came across your channel. Amazing review and I think I just found my first bike.

Z650 sits lower - you sit atop the MT07 - you sort of sit inside the Z650 - they're less than a standard deviation in power/torque between the two bikes - just sayin'

my first bike was a kawa zxr 400.
it had 68 hp and drove like dream.
i crashed it after 6 years of riding and sold it.
then it was a 6 year long wait until i was a little bit more mature and the i bought my second bike last year.
    it's a 2020 kawa z900 and i absolutly love this bike.
i bought it completly stock and spend about €5000 on upgrades.
the best upgrade is a full sc project titanium exhaust, a translogic quickshifter and send it to a realy good tuner.
it sounds and rides so good right now, it pops and bangs and shoots flames now🔥🔥😍😍

Not surprised to see you like the MT-07. 👍
I owned a 2015 FZ-07 (what the MT-07 was called before they changed the model designation) and rode it for several years and I believe that was probably the best street bike I've had the pleasure to own and ride.
Light, maneuverable, great handling, and the engine was fantastic with plenty of low- and mid-range torque that was so easy to use and fun to use.
I had an Akrapovic Ti exhaust system on it and it sounded so good with a pleasant tone.
My second motorcycle was a used 1981 Honda XR250R.
My first street bike was a new 1993 Yamaha XJ600SE, AKA the Seca II.
My second street bike was a new 1994 Yamaha YZF750R.
    Those were fun times. 😁

This exact bike was my first one lol.
I took it on a 5400km (3355 mile) tour through Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Utah. 621 miles in one day was the longest leg of the trip. It can defiantly be done but that was one hell of a test of my endurance lol.
A larger windscreen and throttle lock is essential, Im defiantly upgrading the seat to a corben when I have some extra money. Was absolutely breathtaking though through most of the trip!

I started off on an '06 Suzuki GS500F, rode that for a few years and then got a '22 MT-07 (Team Blue), and wow, what a difference. I love it so much. I'm to the point with it now, where short rides don't interest me because I want to spend more and more time on it every time I take it out! I named it Jay Bird ("naked" as a Jay bird, and blue like a Blue Jay). Only mods I have so far are radiator guard, windscreen (I do a lot of freeway riding), and a charging port. I can't wait to upgrade the exhaust!

I grew up on mini-bikes and dirt bikes, haven't rode in many years. After taking the MSF class in May, I settled on a '22 MT-07. I was originally looking at R3's, since I don't need that much power (most my riding will be in town), until I sat on one. Being 6'2", the 07 is much more comfortable for me. I just had my 600 mile service, and I'm loving the bike so far.

Yep I agree I had a new at the time 2014 Yamaha R6 and now I have a 2016 Yamaha FZ07. My R6 would destroy this bike in the top end but around town and for just cruising or fun I much prefer the bottom end torque that the FZO7 has. It's way more fun and it doesn't hurt my back and wrists like my R6 did

My ice fluo mt07 IS my first big bike after riding 125cc Honda for a while. I’ve had it for about 2 years and I love it. I have been test riding a lot of bikes over the recent months in search for the replacement (not necessarily go bigger) cause I have been touring quite a bit so naked style is not the best for that, but every time I get back on my bike, it feels so good. For me personally it is going to be difficult to find a worthy contender. That cp2 engine is absolutely amazing and punches way above its weight 🙂

I drive a Tracer7 (basically the same bike) and love the CP2 engine even on stock exhaust, but must say the stock suspension is comfortable on normal driving but once you go in Rossi mode it's lacking.. the rear is a bit wobbly and dives down quite a bit when braking. Showing my age a lot. First bike 1980 Yamaha RD250LC which I rode for the mandatory CC restriction in Western Australia at the time. Moved up to a couple of the 350cc versions. Stopped riding for about 20 years and got back on a FZR600. Replace it with a couple of Honda VFR800S. First one was stolen. Then got a Yamaha 07 R1 which was fun to ride for about 30 minutes. Most of my riding was commuting so it wasn't a great fit. Have now got a fairly stock MT-07. This bike gives me what I wanted/craved from the 2 strokes. Nimble with plenty of low down grunt. Of course the standard exhaust was replaced before it left the showroom. I couldn't buy the HO version of the MT-07 in blue so I got the slightly smaller capacity version which is LAMS compliant. Rather than restricting the capacity first year riders can use, the power output is enforced in Australia. It is still an incredibly fun bike to ride.

I've had my 2014 MT07 for just over a year now, I love it! I upgraded from a Yamaha R3. The fuel economy is actually VERY good for the size of the engine. I've heard people get 60 to 70MPG, it can be really good. Compared to traditional 600cc/1000cc sportsbikes its SUPER efficient.

Wow!! now that you brought the two year time span up with your MT07/spicy boy, I can’t believe it’s been 2yrs.
I’ve been following you for two years great videos great information entertaining all across-the-board. Well I guess your question was:
What bike that we started on or what bike we moved up to.
After a lot of research & Utube videos ,
I chose to start on a 2022 Aprilia RS660 Apex Black model as my first ever sports bike.
I feel that I am levelheaded, very mature but I do like to get on it here and there but I’m not crazy on the streets. There’s a time and place for that I agree with some of the other UA-camrs along with yourself.
I just like to get out there have fun on the bike and be able to come home in one piece and be able to go back again at a different time. That’s the most important to me. Like riding out on small group rides and one on one rides with a buddy.
If I lived in New Jersey which I was born in Camden and moved to Florida I would let you ride my bike to get a sample of a brand-new RS 660 you will probably fall in love with it. I highly recommend it don’t believe all the negative hype about About the RS 660 I have had no issues with the bike whatsoever. The only possible thing is that the mirrors do shake at over 4000 RPMs but that’s it that’s the only negative. I got this bike because of all of the safety features it comes with along with it’s awesome aggressive body style. That’s my take on it I enjoy your videos please keep them coming let me know what you think. Please ride safe, stay alert, and be very proactive every time you get on your bike. Enjoy in right smart.💥🔥👍🏼💯

My first larger bike is a Svartpilen 701 after riding scooters and a 125 for a while.
Was considering the MT07 or XSR700, too. But the Svartpilen is just the prettiest of them all 🥰😉
The CP2 engine is way smoother than the Svarti's thumper though.

Kicked off my riding journey many years ago on farm bikes (Yamaha AG100, Honda CT110). Then didn't ride for about 20 years. Picked things up again with Suzuki GW250 Inozuma. Someone backed into it in car park (after I had two years of ownership) and wrote it off for me. So I decided to buy a Suzuki SV650. Love it. It's sexy, it's fast, fun and noisy. Now have a Yamaha XSR 900 2022 on order. Won't be available til November but am pretty stoked to give that bad boi a go. Hoping it will be a seriously long-termer.
I ride every day I can for commuting and for fun half day rides at the weekends.

I have an mt07 too, used to have a sedici strada 2 helmet, looks like that might be what you have too, i bought a shoei rf1400 and it made a WORLD of a difference with wind, so much quieter, and at speed the wind doesn’t flop my head around like it did with the sedici, makes riding so much more enjoyable

I bought my 2019 MT-07 new from a dealer in 2020. I've put about 12,000 miles on it since and it's still pretty much bone stock. Mine's the all-black "Matte Raven" and I have considered upgrading to a more powerful bike, but every time I ride mine I have so much fun that it seems silly to spend the money...plus, I love the blackout look so much that I haven't been able to find another bike that I liked the looks of more...
I think the stock shocks are probably great for someone your size, but they're definitely a little soft for bigger folks (I'm probably around 190 in gear). Still, I don't push it to the limits riding track or anything, so even a suspension upgrade hasn't seemed worthwhile. Mine still has the stock exhaust, too...it definitely sounds awesome with the aftermarket, but I just can't convince myself it's worth dropping $1500 or more just for the sound. Maybe I'm cheap, but I don't think there's a better naked bike out there for the money...

Hi Lali, my first bike was a ZR50 Suzuki (3HP), second step from there was my Honda Hornet 600 (102HP)
So yea.. was kinda a big step, but was still manageable. Currently Triumph Street Triple R (118HP) and i feel its more then enough for the streets.

So cool seeing you riding on all the same roads I ride on! I ride cruiser style bikes, and I bought a naked Suzuki Marauder 800 for my first bike and that thing had all the buffeting! I hated highway riding cuz I felt like I was hanging on for dear life just trying to stay seated on the bike lol.
After I totaled it, (gravel patch on a sharp turn) I replaced it with a Kawasaki Vulcan 1500 classic with a tall windscreen, and it has made riding so much more comfortable!!! I think my next upgrade might be to put a batwing fairing on it.

Started on dirt bikes as a kid. Naturally went on to a dual sport for about 5 years(loved it) but I needed a more road focused bike. I tried 3 different cruisers(hated them all). Just got an mt07 this week. I feel a lot more comfortable(familiar body position an weight) on an mt07 vs a cruiser. Time will tell. I really wish the tracer 7 would come to the states or have an available conversion kit for the mt07.

I started riding about 6 years ago on my moms Yamaha 535cc Virago, after a couple of months of riding that I upgraded to a Yamaha V-star 1100, fast forward a year and I upgraded again, this time to a 2014 Honda Valkyrie 1800, I still have the Valkyrie but about a month ago I bought myself a second bike this one an Indian FTR-S 1200 and I'm loving it. PS, the Valkyrie gets 45 mpg with a 6.1 gallon tank I can ride forever on a tank of gas, and best of all she runs the cheap 87 octane gas.

I learned to ride in 2000 and bought a Honda Nighthawk 250 for my first bike. I rode it for a year and sold it to my MSF course instructor. My second bike was a new '01 Yamaha YZF600R. Great bike, loved it, regretted selling it eventually for cruiser bike. Fast forward to 2022 and I just got a super low mile 2007 Yamaha YZF600R - no more regrets and riding it every chance I get. 😃

Mt07. Rode this bike as I made my license. I like the fact that it still has one headlight. Avoids you being confused with a car that's very far away. And the fact that you put your key into the headlight. As in putting it into the head of the bike.
But it always felt a little twitchy on the throttle at low speed. The aprilia shiver 750 I got now is way easier to control despite having the larger engine.

Hey Lali .. You can adjust the pre load compression and dampening on your front forks.. On your rear shock you can do the same.. The Ohlin Cartridge kit gave you a choice of like 4 different weight springs..
K-Tech may be the same.. I have a K-teck for the rear of mine but I have the less expensive shock that does not have the remote reservoir..
Via the Ohlin Instructions I set my front forks to the suggested base settings for my weight and have never adjusted it.. It's a mirable better than the stock forks.. I am Fat right now at 178# have gotten down to as low as 159 in past recent summers.. Used to be in the 150 - 160 range for decades..

Started on a Vulcan 500 cruiser, then upgraded to a Versys 650. Both good bikes, but I preferred the more upright seating position of the Versys (felt more in control). The Versys is a really underated bike, which I could have kept forever if it was just me riding -- but ended up getting a Concours 1400 for 2-up touring. The Concours is a rocket and probably faster than I need, but a great bike for highway miles.

You can set the “rider sag”. Probably less preload on the shock should soften up the ride a little. If you have clicker, try 2-3 more clicks out on the compression.

That is a very sweet exhaust note! It was a very different motorcycling world back when I started riding, not quite so varied in terms of choices as now. My first bike was a 125, next up was a Yamaha 500 twin (which I still have, bought it for my 19th birthday in 1973). Pretty drastic step up for the next one, a '97 Triumph Daytona 955. Imagine riding the same bike for over 20 years, you know what it's going to do under any circumstances. Then you get on something that's almost exactly the same overall size, about the same weight, but with nearly three times the power. Took some getting used to, things happen a LOT faster! You want torque? The dyno chart that came with the exhaust I put on it (full Arrow system, modified by and sourced from Wilcox Engines, UK, who actually helped Triumph develop the motor) has a very impressive horsepower curve, especially compared to stock, but the real eye-opener on it is the torque curve. It makes 85% of peak torque at 3500 rpm and just rises from there, finally tails off at 10K to a mere 90%. I LOVE the torque on that bike! And the sound!

    Bikes I've had...
    Honda CB100
    Honda XL350
    Honda Ascot 500
    BMW F650
    Kawasaki KLR650
    Yamaha MT-07 (650)
Most disappointing: KLR, but mostly because of cheap pieces that I replaced (hand guards; didn't, but needed to replace gas cap and foot pegs) the handlebars got bent when I believe someone who was drunk tried to sit on it and dropped it (don't leave parked on street on a Saturday night!) - I replaced the bent handlebars. Compare that to the BMW where handlebars were designed to flex when dropped instead of bending.

You bring up a good point. People need to have their suspensions set up asap after getting a bike. So, when they say it's soft or hard, that's because the dealerships usually give a general set up. It really should be dialed in for the specific rider. It's not only comfort, it can be a safety issue.
Have the sprockets been changed? I'm sure it's been flashed and all that.
If you want to know about my bikes, my first was an old Kawi H1. Then a Bonneville, '68 Duc Desmo MIII, '78 CB750 SS, '64 Bonneville bobber, and a '17 Suzuki GSXR1000R. The Suzuki is mostly for track use. She's crazy. Hahahaha

Great bike for fun riding on dry roads. Where it gets left behind by the rest of the market now is it's lack of features as an everyday rider for a less experienced rider!
Find yourself on a wet slippery unfamiliar country road in driving rain and suddenly the "Master of Torque" becomes a handful, with it's lack of slipper clutch, no torque control option and snappy throttle you can easily break traction coming out of a corner and low side it! Unless of course you are an experienced rider and know how to ride a fully manual big twin under these conditions!
    Still one of my favorites!

New viewer to your videos, I have literally owned motorcycles all over the spectrum. From Hayabusas to ZX14's to Harley Davidson. I currently owned a Yamaha FZ6R, and love it. Perfect cross between sport and sport touring. But I recently received a mint condition 2012 Ninja 250 for $500. And I think I'm gonna ride it around for fun and ultimately turn it into a "track days" bike. I'm assuming if you kept your for 5years you thought they were great bikes?? Like I said, it will ultimately become a "track bike'. But we''ll see. Like your channel so far.
