This is why I switched to the Single Plane Swing a few months back which helped me go from shooting over 100 down to consistently getting in the low 90s and even broke 90 once this year. I just started golfing this year and made the switch to the single plane swing around June. My ball striking is not as good as Moe Norman since I don't have the time to hit 800 balls a day, but I'm slowly getting there. His swing style (taught by Todd Graves) made me actually love using my driver now since I rarely slice or hook it since my backswing plane and downswing plane are within an inch or less of each other. It's probably as simple as it can when it comes to golf swing styles with the only real challenge being consistent solid ball strikes which is a challenge for most golfers.

Not ONLY that.. there are many factors involved, elevation, sloop, traps, cross wind, etc .. PGA course setup is far more difficult compare to LPGA course. .
Women have better swings because they don’t swing as aggressively as the men so there rhythm and timing is better swing speeds men vrs women proves it love watching women’s golf yes I am talking about tour pros swing
I dont agree. It's hard to define a "better" swing but we can assume a better swing carries the ball further and more accurate. Men definitely swing the ball much farther and are not behind in accuracy so the answer is men swing better. Btw I love both Jessicas and Nellys swing but still love Rorys swing more.
@peterhammer6915 - how can you argue that? MinJee Lee on average hits it closer than every other person on the planet from those 4 different distance ranges. Doesn’t matter how she gets it there - if she needs a 6 iron when Rory hits a wedge, but she puts it closer, hers is a better shot. End of story. You can like Rory’s swing more personally, but for proximity to flag a woman is the best in the world. That’s just a fact.
@@cameronloveless1751 you cant compare to only one player, that has nothing to do with statistics. 100 best Lpga compared to 100 best Pga players. If the stats show women are more accurate from lets say 200y, 150y, 125y and 100y f.ex than I am ready to admit I am wrong
@@peterhammer6915 don’t have current stats, but there was something published back in 2017 that said for greens in reg, 28 women on LPGA tour had a higher percentage GIR than the best on PGA at the time, Dustin Johnston. Also higher accuracy stats for fairways hit etc. Agree, they don’t have to hit it as far off the tee, so there is that. But GIR stats are hard to argue with
@axileus9327200 yards and in is 200 yards and in. The length of course, or the tee shot, has absolutely no bearing on that. What sort of twisted logic are you trying to use to assert that it does?
The women golfers have tremendously soft and supple bodies that easily move and bend with ease. Us guys have all these extra muscles and thicker ligaments that are taught, which hinders our ability to swing like the ladies. I have a junior golfer who can now swing like the ladies but I already see his muscles and bones growing and inhibiting his previous smooth supple swing.
Maybe on softass greens, and 100 in? Firm those greens up and see the difference? Lpga playuers only have 1 chance to hole it however, with more club head speed, pga players have 2 chances!
Thanks Steve, well we all have to make a living , videos that go over eight minutes are allowed to have extra commercials . I get to sell and promote my Online Lessos .. that’s how I make my living It’s either that, or no videos at all.
The LPGA is, quite literally, the only sport I pay any attention to. You couldn't pay me enough to get me to watch men play golf! ⛳The women play with finesse. The men play like macho Neanderthals!
Simple answer is that the average PGA course length is 7200-7500 yds. whereas the average LPGA course length is 6200-6500 yds. Over 18 holes, that equates to approx. 55 yds./hole. If you can't blast your drive over 300 yards you don't have much of a chance against the men, especially when the top guys like McIlroy are bombing it over 340 yds. The men's game is all about power.
Lets explain why Minjee Lee hit it closer. The biggest reason is because the LPGA sets the pins in the middle of the greens even on Sunday and the greens are much softer to take shots. There is rarely a tucked pin with danger to one side. They also play courses where you can run the ball up on the green with nothing in front. The cuts of rough are much lower making approach shots much easier into unguarded greens. If the men played the woman's courses they would be knocking pins down all day and shoot 35 to 40 under. You are correct the woman's swings are fundamentally more technically sound but that is because woman let the weight of the clubhead swing the club where men, who are stronger, tend to muscle the club. Please look at the deeper reasons. Then making a comparison as if they were exact same conditions.
I disagree with the opinion, as from your point of view, men should still hit it closer. With the distances laid out, men should be hitting much more lofted clubs than ladies, so should be more accurate from that. I can't see many ladies hitting a 56deg wedge 125 yards.
I think the first poster is off base. The women have a much better schooled swing. The technique of the women swing is always close to perfect. Men can power out of mistakes not possible for most women. I suggest attending an LPGA event to view some perfect swings. Looking at the PGA tour you will see many variations of swings not so with the LPGA.
@@CraigHansonGolfyou’re logic is so unbelievably flawed… I used to think this way… if You believe what you’re saying, ok… but you’re wrong.. Women have swing mechanics that their coaches give them because they are submissive by nature men find what works and don’t give a shit how it looks. You could argue women are good in spite of themselves you’ll never find a cookie cutter number one in the world on the PGA tour. Tiger was the only one and he destroyed his body listening to somebody else tell him how to swing a club
Steven you are correct, it's obvious to see and verify for anyone who watches golf. Let anyone in this chat tell me men wouldn't outscore the living daylights out of the women on similar pin locations.
Nelly , but not just nelly , they nearly all have such beautiful swings , just much less muscle and much more fluid . Biceps dont make good golf swings , neither do egos . Faldo used to be much like this .
"Faldo used to be much like this" And that hits on part of why. The equipment of that time was too unforgiving to allow for all out swinging, especially the drivers. Everyone, Nicklaus, Snead, Hogan, Sorenstam, Player, Trevino, Lopez, Wright, all of them said they never swung close to all out. They cited different percentages, 80%, 70%, Annika's mantra was Swing 60, whatever number correlated in their heads with the feel they were looking for, but they all had the same concept. It started to change with Daly, but the development of much more forgiving equipment, driver heads especially, longer lighter shafts, and multilayered balls that allowed for greenside spin control but greater distance without spinning off the course, all greatly accelerated the process. Now people can swing almost all out with less loss of control than in former days. This favours the strong. Some women have that build. Laura Davies, who for my money came closest amongst women to PGA Tour distance in her heyday, had that build. There have been a few others. Joanne Carner comes to mind. And the tall women nowadays are often the longest, although that little overswinging fireball from Smith Falls, Brooke Henderson, manages to pack a lot of strength into a short body! But overall, the gap in distance between the longest male players and the longest female ones is longer now than it was in Sorenstam and Davies' era. I think that equipment has helped magnify that, by tilting the balance more towards the powerful than it was in the steel, persimmon and balata era.
@@johnnyzsalt5374 Another great player that’s in the comments area. It’s amazing how many great players there are here. Like everyone is just a pure ball striker. The truth is most people are on the couch 🛋️ with a packet of chips and playing off 12 with absolutely no talent and no idea. 😂😂
@@CraigHansonGolf I dunno, your LPGA players are professionals and have been playing their whole lives. I'm just a welder and can hit it further and straighter (unless I get a right to left sidewind, then it is draw) than anyone on the LPGA tour... I never liked the putting aspect of the game, so no career, but sure fun to watch the ball go with the brassie.
I could not agree more that the ladies' tour has more elegant-looking swings (the Kordas, Jin Young Ko etc.). However, no insult intended, they don't play the same courses as the men. The speaker says he doesn't subscribe to the view that men play longer courses. Really? You actually think that? Again, I love their swings (except Lexi Thompson whose swing is becoming more and more "Frankenstein"). The men play consistently longer courses. They have to sacrifice elegance of swing for power of swing since they have 500 yard par 4s and 250 yard par 3s especially in Majors. I have been fortunate enough to play a couple of times the week after a men's event and a women's event, neither of which were majors. The men's course was longer holes, narrower fairways, deeper rough and much faster greens. The women's course was much shorter, wider fairways, shorter rough (the tractors were out cutting that Monday) and the greens were not being cut that week. I shot 96 on the men's course (I usually shoot 84). I shot 82 on the women's course. The shorter 3s, 4s and 5s made a huge difference to a dinosaur like me. Love the LPGA and their swings but it's simply a different game. I'm OK that it's different but please don't tell me it's the same.
The actual video is about women’s swings and accuracy with irons? Not once was there a comment about women shooting lower scores than men? Why is it all taken out of context? I showed statistics from Minjee Lee that she hits closer to the pin from 100-200 yards than any other player. That’s what the video is about. There’s people commenting in the comments without watching the video
Sorry but what “better” means? We have seen what Lexi could do on a small PGA Tour event recently (missing the cut). LPGA are good but you can’t compare. On the PGA distance is key.
Men have loads more muscle strength to get in the way, they can compensate for imperfect technique with ‘grunt’ - most women can’t so have to have good technique. You see lots of male amateurs with rubbish techniques who can still hit distance, but you don’t ever see a woman with rubbish technique who can hit any distance.
Acoustics has nothing to do with gameplay, but rather the engineers design of the club itself. Women in general have better looking swings because they are more flexible than most men. But a beautiful swing is nothing more than just a beautiful swing.
They hit it closer primarily because the holes are shorter for them. If they are better than the men, then play the same tees and then you'll see who's better. Every time they have these "joint" LPGA and PGA tournaments, the women are a 100 yards closer to the greens.
Well here we are on the eve of the 2024 PGA Championship. 7458 yards with a slope 148 and course rating 76.4. I am really surprised that none of the LPGA players have been given an exemption to play. I mean they have the best swings in the game and they are strong, independent women. I bet they could at least shoot a 110. LMFAO!!!!!
How stupid are people ! That’s not the point of the video. Go back and watch the start again and have a look the statistics i showed. Pay attention this time.
The embellishment of the sound diminishes your point. Otherwise, my wife and I are fans of the LPGA-watch it far more than the PGA. We have also paid very close to the techniques these women employ in their play and it has improved our play significantly.
So from say 120 yards how close does a tour player hit 18 balls to a pin ? I know the average and its not from a search via google. And its not as close as people seem to think. Also the same goes for the tour average in scoring. Its not as low as people seem to think. And a google search leads you down a wrong belief path...

I agree 👍.. thanks for taking the time to post.
Has there ever been a better swinger of a golf club than Mickey Wright?
It’s definitely one of the best swings ever.
Of all the female golfers, I think In Gee Chun has the most perfect club alignment I've ever seen from anyone.
Thanks for posting
LPGA flags are easier and greens are way slower and softer. I understand your point though..
Thanks for posting 👍.. appreciate your opinion
What sort of twisted logic are you trying to use to assert that it does?
pin locations. stimp ratings. play a big part in proximity to pin from the mentioned distances. they're more challenging in the PGA than the LPGA
Thanks for posting never heard that before …
😂
Imo it's because they don't have as much upper body strength as men so utilise their full body much more efficiently to generate smooth swing speed.
thanks for sharing 👍👍
The women golfers have tremendously soft and supple bodies that easily move and bend with ease. Us guys have all these extra muscles and thicker ligaments that are taught, which hinders our ability to swing like the ladies. I have a junior golfer who can now swing like the ladies but I already see his muscles and bones growing and inhibiting his previous smooth supple swing.
Sounds like a romance novel 😂
The girls make it looks easy, they have a better rhythm/flow
Maybe on softass greens, and 100 in? Firm those greens up and see the difference? Lpga playuers only have 1 chance to hole it however, with more club head speed, pga players have 2 chances!

The reason why they have such good swings is because woman are more flexible and don't try to kill the ball.
The LPGA is, quite literally, the only sport I pay any attention to.
You couldn't pay me enough to get me to watch men play golf!
⛳The women play with finesse. The men play like macho Neanderthals!
Thanks for sharing
Simple answer is that the average PGA course length is 7200-7500 yds. whereas the average LPGA course length is 6200-6500 yds. Over 18 holes, that equates to approx. 55 yds./hole. If you can't blast your drive over 300 yards you don't have much of a chance against the men, especially when the top guys like McIlroy are bombing it over 340 yds. The men's game is all about power.
thanks for sharing
Thanks for your opinion
I agree …thanks for sharing 👍👍
They do? How come I still see fairway woods being used for shot #2 on short par 4s?
They hit it further than you Johnny
@@CraigHansonGolf I dunno. I am good for 325 with a slight draw off the tee. Wedge, then cup on a par 4.

I feel like lower CoG has something to do with it
ahhh yes the lower cog
Sorry but what “better” means?
We have seen what Lexi could do on a small PGA Tour event recently (missing the cut).
LPGA are good but you can’t compare. On the PGA distance is key.
your correct thanks for posting
Men have loads more muscle strength to get in the way, they can compensate for imperfect technique with ‘grunt’ - most women can’t so have to have good technique. You see lots of male amateurs with rubbish techniques who can still hit distance, but you don’t ever see a woman with rubbish technique who can hit any distance.
Acoustics has nothing to do with gameplay, but rather the engineers design of the club itself. Women in general have better looking swings because they are more flexible than most men. But a beautiful swing is nothing more than just a beautiful swing.
Do you actually watch the video?
They hit it closer primarily because the holes are shorter for them. If they are better than the men, then play the same tees and then you'll see who's better. Every time they have these "joint" LPGA and PGA tournaments, the women are a 100 yards closer to the greens.
you didn’t look at the statisticss i showed .. unfortunately your comment makes no sense .. watch the statistics listen and try again .

??????? .. what
Well here we are on the eve of the 2024 PGA Championship.

👍
False assumption. The idea that golfers who are shorter and weaker have more finesse and skill is a myth.

@CraigHansonGolf with the LPGA having an average of 275 with a head start from the red tees... sadly, I'd have to agree but they are PROS for a reason
If they think they're better, I guess they should try joining the PGA, see what happen... good luck!
