Hey, so I hear that you say quillion. I just wanted to point out that it's actually spelt and pronounced "Quillon." No 'ion' at the end. It _can_ be spelt that way, but it's less common. I've also heard a lot of other black smiths say quillion as well. I'm currently working on a book, and I used the word. It tried to auto correct it, and so, curious, I looked it up and was surprised to find that it was spelt quillon.
And whether you say quillion, or quillon, it doesn't change the fact that that is an absolutely beautiful blade. Keep up the great work dude.

@@liquid24 yeah, I know it’s pronounced more like “key-own” dagger. It just sounds a bit pretentious like that. 😜. Kind of like how Americans pronounce foyer improperly but it becomes the norm. (Pronounced “fwhy-ay” not “foy-er”)

@@liquid24 It's just anglicised because the French accent sounds incredibly weird to pronounce to a non-French speaking person. I can speak more French than any other language bar English but I absolutely cannot do the accent without feeling like I'm making a complete muppet of myself.

It is incredible how you are able to mentally keep track of what is happening with the layers through all those steps!! I had no idea it was so difficult to achieve these patterns! The graphics you provide really help a lot, I can imagine what is going on. I didn't realize forge men could create these patterns with real metal like this! I used to think they just carved in patterns afterwards or something, but the steal was solid blocks. It is so much more satisfying to realize that they are true metals running through there. That dagger you made is absolutely BEAUTIFUL! My father loved knives, blades and craftsmanship and when he got cancer I wanted to get tools and stuff to make some knives so he could keep busy and work his fine motor skills as well as it would be something we could both do together and create beautiful functional tools that looked like pieces of art. He was diagnosed with esophagus cancer and then brain cancer and in November 2021 he passed away. He would have absolutely loved this dagger and all of your other pieces you’ve created! Now that he’s passed I still want to try to bring this idea him and I talked about to existence. Of course your work is fantastic but it's the information I find better than any other channels, you're the first maker I've seen who puts a graphic next to you forging explaining and showing exactly what all the movements are actually doing. It's one thing to watch a blade of Damascus being forged but I've never known or been told what all the turns such are doing to the pattern. Very cool!!! Absolutely stunning dagger. That Siberian maple burl is absolutely bonkers. I think what I like most is the silver solder inlays. Never would have thought to use silver solder that way. Lol my dad will be brainstorming for sure when I tell him about it. We use it for stuff like repairing chrome bumpers and trim and other stuff in extreme cases. Most of the time we prefer to work or grind/sand the metal and if it's bad enough get replacement pieces. Sometimes you can't when you're working with rare or just not popular classics/antiques though.
