I watched reviews from you and other reviewers before ordering this for myself. While it works for the most part, an important functionality is doesnt work without additional manual intervention every single time. The T2C adapter's Bluetooth profile to pair with your phone includes "Phone Calls" and what that means is that when placing or receiving a phone call while using Carplay or Android Auto, the phone call gets routed through the adapter which is not capable of phone calls. Due to this i have to always change the bluetooth device on the phone to Tesla during an active phone call which is not a good solution when driving. It defeats the whole purpose of using Carplay or Android Auto. I reached out to the support team of this product and they acknowledged that this is how i have to operate it. I am retuning the product back. I believe you and other reviewers have not done a great job detailing this flaw leading to viewers like us buying it.
Hi, I bought the Carlinkit TC2 for tesla and I'm trying to configure it on my tesla model y. I managed to update it to the latest version that shows me "23030720.1508.1" The problem I have is that when I connect via the car to the Autokit_D9AD wifi network I get the following error: "Unable to access the internet. Please check your firewall settings and internet connection" what should I do to fix the problem?
So, you have to set up a hot spot and link the device via a website every time you want to use CarPlay? This seems way too time consuming and inconvenient. In my previous car, I just plugged my phone in and there it was on the screen.
Well you should only have to setup the hotspot the first time and it should auto connect after that but you will need to Goto that website every time to use it.
I bought this, but honesly it's laggy, skips more than fluently glides in Waze and GMaps, annoys me mostly. I'll keep it for ABRP, and PlexAmp, but honestly... not realy something I would recommend to others. Tesla's own system is enough for 99% of use cases.
Based on my experience and frustration level of getting this to “talk” to my tesla and being completely unable to get my iPhone to show up on the screen, i would say this is product is a hard pass. Save yourself a lot of frustration

Love using my Ownice T3 box. I think it's pretty much the same thing as this, but from what i've read, more responsive and reliable.

Does this kit need SIM card?
Hi. I have tried several times to connect my device. I get everything working except for the sound?
I have the same issue
Keep getting an error that it can’t connect to the network because of DHCP server settings. Any idea?
Try unplugging it from the usb port then plug it in again. Then try connecting to the Wi-Fi again, it may take a few tries the first time it connects.

Are you using an iPhone? If so is your hotspot tired on?
@@HighTechCheck no i'm using an android phone.
Is your hotspot turned on?
@@HighTechCheck no, tanks resolved XD
Does the SIM card need active service ?
No, you use your phone data but you can purchase a sim to use instead of your phone.
It's cool but looks bit laggy for my taste.
My screen is black,nothing showup

Did it work with the ver 4 or 5 on your Tesla?

I'm having the same issue. When it works, it's great... but it's way too unstable.
This product sucks
Wow
Never asked for a hotspot
Fell asleep while you were setting it up, takes way too many steps when the tesla already does most of these things
way too laggy.
smooth.. not really
