    10/27 -- I started my day at the beginning of the C-14 Canal. Caught a small Butterfly Peacock Bass, a Florida Largemouth Bass, a Blue Runner, and a Crevalle Jack. After, I went to the Anglin's Pier for some additional Species of fish.
    Part three will be coming up later this week. :)
    Long Days and Pleasant Nights! Tight lines, UA-cam viewers!

    • @extremephillyfishing
      @extremephillyfishing  8 років тому +1

      +kyle knoll As I have commented on someone else's comment here, using a Bass made lure doesn't necessarily mean that you will catch a Largemouth Bass. The setup that I was using -- a 4" Gary Yamamoto Senko on a size #6 Gamakatsu Octopus Hook -- produced many different Species of fish for me in the past (i.e. Redbreast Sunfish, Rock Bass, Green Sunfish, Rainbow Trout, Smallmouth Bass, Chain Pickerel, etc). I knew that there were multiple different Species of fish in front of me, in the C-14 canal, and unfortunately a Florida Largemouth Bass came up. Sigh. Haha.
      As for the Jack, that was a Blue Runner (Caranx cryseus), which is the same as a hardtail (just its formal name). Tight lines!

    • @extremephillyfishing
      @extremephillyfishing  8 років тому

      +Randomness Just because I use a lure that was specifically made for a certain Species, that doesn't mean that I will catch just that. In this video, I was using a 4" Gary Yamamoto Senko on a size 6 octopus hook. I have caught SO MANY different Species on that setup (i.e. Redbreast Sunfish, Green Sunfish, Rock Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Chain Pickerel, Channel Catfish, etc). +weqrfawe , although there all large mouth bass. Fla. has it's own strain if you did a DNA test it Would show that it is from Fla. And as others commented the weather has alot to do with there breeding late winter instead of early or late spring so they get large in size much faster than up North. how i know this cause i asked that question to a game warden checking to see if i had a lic.lol.

      +weqrfawe Yes. And that is a very good question, by the way. The Florida Largemouth Bass is considered to be a Sub-Species of the Largemouth Bass nowadays. In other words, a Largemouth Bass is just "Micropterus salmoides" and the Florida Largemouth Bass would be a "Micropterus salmoides floridanus." As for 2015, the American Society of fishes still accepts the Florida Largemouth Bass to be a Sub-Species; though, ichthyologists and fishery biologists are coming to the conclusion that the Northern Largemouth Bass and the Florida Largemouth Bass are two separate Species of fish due to its genetic differences. In other words, they look the same; however, they are two SEPARATE Species. But as I have mentioned just now, the USA still recognizes the Florida Largemouth Bass as a sub-species nowadays; thus, I haven't included it in my Species list.
      A similar example is the Yellow Perch that we have here in the USA (Perca flavescens) and the European Perch (Perca fluviatilis). The American Yellow Perch was considered to be a sub-Species of the European Perch until the 1960-70's, when scientists finally came to the conclusion that they were two separate Species of fish.
      Tight lines, Will!

      +Dillan Robeson To each his own, right? Some folks prefer some Species over others. Myself, as a Multi-Species angler, I favor no fish. For me, the Largemouth Bass, Common Carp, and Channel Catfish all have their own pros and cons. I love all of them equally. Tight lines, Dillan!
