another intreasting tidbit is that Death Korp generals are forced by the adeptus munitorum to wear there uniforms, while i cant rember the source of the top of my head the reason given was that the generals used to just wear regular krieg equipment but munitorum regulations are strict regarding officers distinction thus the gilt work and the diffrent style of coat, while it does create a small plot hole in that Catachans dont seem to diffrentate officers from rankers the devils also dont follow a great deal of rules regarding dress code
It is a great video, and I really learned a lot about the toughest part of the Imperium's army. And sorry for the bother, but can you tell me what music did you used in the video, please?
I think you are being a bit unfair to the hapsburgs here. They weren't really ones for harems, and they tended to rule with a lighter touch than their contemporaries. Roman or even Chinese dynasties before their fall would be more apt. Good video overall, just a slight bit of pushback.
your helmet pronunciation and classification is correct. however, as a lesser known fact, the steel legion fashions their helmets after the falschemjaeger, or paratroopers of the german army.
You mention that the Krieg have only ever retreated once and that was by only one trench line, but didn’t they abandon an entire planet to the necrons in dead men walking. Or are we not classing that book as their lore?
From what I remember. The civilians turned to the necrons as krieg was just harsh at treatment with militia conscriptment. When the VIP where all dead. An order was sent to krieg below as it deemed a lost cause and are to evacuate personal out...kreig had a hearsay about it but the appointed head had to really go word for word to tell them that the planet doesn't belong to the emperor anymore and they will decide if it's Deemed for exterminatus and they want none left for the friendly fire...idk if they glasses it or make up lies enough so krieg left and get the response force elsewhere needed so the administurum used krieg more useful. And let the planet fall and collapse ok it own. And krieg were needed elsewhere as they were sent to another front where they're uses fitted the current situation
One thing you could have added is that unlike most guard regiments they are an army with permission for full combined arms warfare where as most guard armies are not allowed such organisational freedom

"Krieg failed the Emperor once. We cannot fail again"
In one of the 40k books I had it was Death Korps of Kreig vrs Necrons. The kreigs men didn't have names just numbers.
The Germans used the Stahlhelm in both world wars. And while it's not quite exact, the Steel Legion helmet looks closer to the Adrian used by the French during both world wars.
The music and lore hit so hard dam great video.
Look up the game REDCON and at that point the Krux are more or less the prequel to the death corps of krieg
ItalianSpartacus: "Jurten went for a trump card."
In my head: "It was the best Trump card ever. The greatest Trump card. It was amazing, the best. It had great hair. The best card of all time."
HAHAHAHA
I use to run a Death Korps army back in 5th. OMG they were powerful. One time I turn three wiped an opponent, just too much fire power.
You should do the Tanith-First-and-Only
Ah, my favorite boys!
No sacrifice is too great, for what is a million lives compared to the glory of the emperor.
Pulls out my entrenching tool and prepares to charge the enemy!
For the emperor!
(Captain) FIX BAYONETS!!
(Excited gasmask noises)
Private 2213547768-Tim!!!
Yes?!
Don’t play with your bayonet on my firing line! It doesn’t look nice.
*charges at horde of daemons and chaos marines out of happiness*
They give a fearful vibe (in a good way), the fact that they look real like the world war style is why i like them
19:42 length time
I would like to see Space Marines Iron Fists aligned with Death Korps of Krieg - masters of fortresses and defense, and masters of trench war.
Beautiful as always.
If you have never heard of them, google the WW1 Italian Arditi units. Seems to me a lot of similarities or inspiration from there.
I believe in multiple instanses where the Death Korps guardmen actually shooting their commisar(if thr commisar were from a less devout ideal).
I wonder how other factions and races reacts to the Death Korps of Krieg.
Disdain except the black Templars. Many unfortunate accident happen when different guards where attach with the death korps often got unfortunate Execution via Heresy
Would the Tau be scared of these guys?
@@eyesofthevoid9595 imagine you've been making progress and kicking ass on those guela then suddenly you got rekt by the guela baffling gas mask wearing looking penal legion who don't scream nor uttered a word just muffled breathing as one by one your caste brethren falls with waves of this machines by the millions openly march your fire unflinching and the constant shelling turns your might to rubble by blouting out the light with thunderous roars and chaos goes among the ranks. Questioning what kind of monstrosity have the guela sent just for a few planets?
Honestly feel that attack of the dead men should be their theme song
Imagine a Space-marines chapter from Krieg. It would be unstoppable
Especially if the give them wet dreams of all krieg kind
The chain shovel
A traitor regiment or failing that,
Valhallan ice warriors. in theme of a balls are to big a trench coat is needed to cover them
I got a 10 character kill team of these guys like, four days ago.
The Death Korp doesn’t retreat...They’re merely moving to flank you..bayonets and shovel end first
You sir got yourself another subscriber!
Amazing video. Loved the humor and the music!
“...not much to give but tears and dust...”- jeez, you make this world sound kind of grim, and dark. Hmmm... I think you may be on to something there. 😉. Thanks for the awesome video! I was never interested in building any Astra Militarum force- I bought the “Get Started” box of the Tempestus Scions to kitbash some Inquisition henchfolk, but that was it. Except for the Death Korps. They are just so incredibly, grimly cool! And prohibitively expensive, as they’re only made by Forge World. I’ve made my 30K Raven Guard of 90% Forge World stuff, and I don’t know if I have it in me to make another really expensive resin army... but we’ll see! Thanks again for another awesome video-
And, you just gotta love an army whose acronym of initials sounds like
“D- Cock”. That’s just badass.
Love the channel and love the background music
...keeping them from exposing themselves... " yo, orky guy over there, look at this! Whew!"
If I could make a suggestion for the next video it would be the catachan jungle fighters
another intreasting tidbit is that Death Korp generals are forced by the adeptus munitorum to wear there uniforms, while i cant rember the source of the top of my head the reason given was that the generals used to just wear regular krieg equipment but munitorum regulations are strict regarding officers distinction thus the gilt work and the diffrent style of coat, while it does create a small plot hole in that Catachans dont seem to diffrentate officers from rankers the devils also dont follow a great deal of rules regarding dress code
"As we all know"
Me, someone who stumbled across warhammer 40k via algorithm "ah yes, we all know this"
Steel legion helmets from what i can see from the image you had shown seems to be similar to American Helmets
It is a great video, and I really learned a lot about the toughest part of the Imperium's army.
And sorry for the bother, but can you tell me what music did you used in the video, please?
High Autocrat: *denounces the Emperor*
All of Krieg: *chuckles* I’m in danger
The only flourish or shout the Death Korps need is "FIX BAYONETS... CHARGE."
Steel Legion helmet looks more like WW2 Fallschirmjäger helmet, though it may be just the angle of the pic.
It's a damn cyring shame that GW all but forgot these guys. If they had these guys when I started my new IG army I would picked these guys.
They gave them 8th ed rules early on, you can still start them as an army . Just expensive as hell haha
Home sweet home
"They exel in sieging and trench warfare" *THEY ARE DRESSED LIKE SOMEONE FROM WW1 KEEP IN MIND*
Guardsman: we need everyone to bring one regiment to honour our emperor
"Death korps of Krieg shows up with 20 regiment"
Valhallan ice warriors: I'm going to go home now.
the mordian iron guard. They pushed an entire chaos invasion off their planet.
Mordian*
