- I explain what magnetic bearings are and how their used in chiller systems. Mag bearing technology has been used for years in the industry but has began to get implemented in the standard chiller market.

Great video. I studied steam and gas turbines in Power Engineer school. They use a oil jacking bearing at startup and obviously with a huge high speed turbine for power generation which costs a fortune the tolerances are super critical. I would think that technology may be used in them soon.
Working on a WMC right now. Has 2 TT400's. Our larger mag bearing is a WME
*** THE SMT SOFTWARE FOR A TURBOCOR IS GREAT AND GIVES YOU A LOT OF INFORMATION ***
I truly appreciate your channel, definitely the most informative that I'm currently subscribed to. I'm participating in your online courses also
Thank you!
One of the smaller chillers we have is a SmartD with the mag bearings and it’s super quiet.
In Hong Kong, most of the chiller with turbocor compressor were replaced with VSD Screw or VSD Centrifugal Chiller due to the turbocor compressor unreliable. Most complaint were compressor alarm of cannot detect the rotor.
Great Knowledge thanks for passing it on Stay safe Brother 🙏
Could you explain more about common bearing faults with emphasis on the danfross multi stack turbo core compressor there seems to be a recurring issue with what …I would call popping when moving through or calling for more stage up control or supporting load
What happens if during operation you get a power failure?
The Turbocor compressors generate enough power to bring themselves to a quick stop in a power failure
Great Video. Thank you for sharing
