Hey bro, is the trace between swivel and sinker needed if fishing over sand, no rocks? The setup on slider clips that I got doesn't have one on their diagram so wondering if it's needed just to keep the fish away from the reef and to use a lighter line in case of snags, or does it also help the kingys have a better go at it if it's not so close to the bottom?
Yeah man, will definitely work, just needs to be helped through the rod being bobbed up and down really quick till the bait its where you would like it to be. The angle of the line will let you know how far out it is.
Hi there: tied the slide-bait, often find the the traces ( one tied to the sinker and the another on the slider and connected with the bait) tangled up, any suggestions to this issue?thx
Hey +Outdoor adventures with KZ :) i used the slider bait today at the Onehunga bridge and it actually worked XD i had a take on a live jack mackerel and I had the fish on for a moment but sadly it came off cause my timing wasn't perfect. but this morning was crazy: there was this big kingfish that was breaking everyone's line off (including mine) and even took a rod to the water as well XD
Line weight can vary from 80lb to 100lb for me bud, and around a metre for trace length works well for me. i like to have the sinker line longer then the trace too bud so that the live can swim as free as possible down the end of rig...
+brook leau the thing with coro is you can levitate on almost any ledge the trick is burley and learning the right day for the right ledge. find a rock that looks fishy and pump a good burley.
hey bud, i am currently looking at getting another rod for my slidebaiting off the rocks will let you know when i lock that down! mono wise i use perline due to its rugged abrasion resistance. at around 20 kg.
Yes apologies guys, I had to put the music in to cover the sound of trucks screaming past the store. one day I will hopefully be able to purchase a mic n stuff but its just a Samsung s5 doing all of this at the moment. thanks for feedback bud.
+Jose RatahI Ye bro had to use the music to cover up all the trucks going past, one day I will be able to afford proper gear haha at this stage it's all done on my phone.
What's up with the background music? Can't hear a thing of what you're saying. This is supposed to be an instructional video, a "how to" video. Please reload without the music. Thank you much!

Bro...What length trace do you generally use & what length line between the swivel and the sinker? Does the trace always have to be shorter?
Not always but is a great way to in almost all cases.
would it work if I use a whole dead squid as bait and slow it down? thanks

Channel island and the Black Rocks has good number of kings, live bait works best!

Great video and info but your music overlay is too loud and sometimes you cannot hear what you are saying.
