Todo slapping Mahitos hand was such a baller move to go out on. No way he expected him to ever touch his hand on purpose or take himself out of the fight. He got Yuji the best surprise attack. Then later he pulls pretty much the same trick and it was beautiful

I’m in same boat as Red and Dee, not a manga reader so I know nothing about any future spoilers or anything. But I agree with Red here that having Maki just be dead like that would be a little unusual without any kind of send off, I hadn’t really thought that through. I can believe she’s still alive somehow.
It is weird they didn’t show anything with like Megumi or even more importantly Nobara, like they said don’t get your hopes up, but they didn’t fully close the door there.
I like the going rogue theory for our crew, but I’m so torn on the second years (Panda, Toge, Maki) whose side would they take, Yuji or Yuta? Hopefully we get some good old fashioned communication to clear the air.
Best overall moment of the reaction was the Kool Aid Man worm curse busting through the wall in that apartment. “Oh Yeahhhhh!!!!”
Im almost 100% confident in my Maki take and am willing to look like an absolute fool if we get later on in the show and it turns out shes actually just still dead lol. It didnt feel crazy wrong until seeing how he chose to handle Nanami and Nobara but yeah im confident that is correct.
The ending of the season just felt a bit off and weird to me because they tried to pack so much plot dialogue in there right at the end while skipping over some of the important aftermath like as you said, checking out Megumi, Nobara or Maki etc. Im definitely looking forward to how this whole thing will progress with Yuta and Yuji but as you said, some simple dialogue SHOULD be able to clear this up. Unfortunately it seems Gojo wasnt able to brief yuta in any way about what was going on. Maybe his phone wasnt working in Africa lol Anyway its been nice keeping up with your comments throughout the reactions! Cant wait for the next content from JJK as its definitely in some of my fav shows as of now. - Red

Btw the ost they used for when Fake Geto released all those curses gave me major harry potter vibes,not to mention the way the good guys are now on the run and bad guys basically own the political power in jjk society reminds of the Deathly hallows movies❤❤
The scene with Mei Mei and Ui Ui was to show that not all "good guys"(jujutsu sorcerer's) are actually good people,her selfish nature saved her from Fake Geto whereas Nanami's selflessness got him killed at the hands of Mahito,this also correlates to Gojo telling Megumi to be more selfish. Funny enough Mei mei ends up in Malaysia,Nanami's dream destination😂
Im so excited to see where theyre going to take season 3! Hopefully it lives up to the hype of season 2! Ive appreciated and enjoyed your comments on the channel and glad youve been enjoying the reactions! I definitely feel you on the Mei Mei stuff it was wild how she just dipped but from the start her priority was always talking about money so I guess its no surprise she just left them there for her own gain. I wish we could have seen how that interaction played out though! If only for a little bit. Shout out Malaysia though they got big representation in the last couple episodes haha.

I love how Gege wrote Kusakabe. We learn a lot more abt him later in the manga but he’s so stupidly strong for seemingly no reason.

I do wish we hadn't lost him so soon. But I do think it's fitting that Mahito isn't fooled by Geto showing up to save him because he knows just how quick humans are to betray those they would claim are close to him. And his final act in the story is changing a good chunk of humanity. Fitting. He was born from them after all

I agree I did want them to put together a better finale. But overall I loved this arc. And it is one of the best ever. The Kyoto students showing up and doing nothing at all is so "iconic" 😂😂 The principal catching a stray was insane. I can't wait to learn more about Yuji's background and if kamo had something to do with it. Next season is going to be interesting...our mc vs our cinematic mc. I like Yuji but I'm standing with my boy Yuta.
I hope it doesnt get too lost that overall I still LOVE this arc even if I have some complaints overall. So many good moments and feelings. I cant wait for next season as well its gonna be a wild ride and I HEAR you Yuta is definitely that guy and i like him a lot BUT MY GOAT YUJI im ride or die with him until this show is OVER. Youll never catch me waver! Next season really bout to be JJK Civil War lool I cant wait to see it and hope to see you there! - Red

Dont worry we have no plans of reading! Gonna be sticking with anime only till the end. For me I only start reading manga for things if I feel like the anime quality isnt high enough but for jjk it definitely doesnt have that problem! I have mega patience :) So excited for when we get more jjk content though and hope to see you there! - Red

final episode aka season finale was such a disappointment for me. firstly i am not manga reader so that ending or rather majority of aftermatch was confusing for me.
the ending was lackcluster, very anti-climactic. i guess its supposed to hype up the manga readers judging from TEV's reaction but for me it was just confusing and left me think "thats it?" no explanation or whatever, for most part i thought he was trying to do boogie woogie as homage to todou.
But biggest disappointment of the episode was definitely yuki. she was supposed to be this "last special grade to reveal her potential and assets". she was teased for two whole seasons. first we learn she is todo's teacher and todo also became special grade, and then we learn that she also has ties to getou so her arrival to the scene was heavily teased... and payoff was terrible and such a disapointment to me. She might still be awesome but this episode just left me angry i guess. Maybe if they did not have her appear as a cliffhanger in last episode i would not be so mad about her not doing anything but seriously she was useless. She was just standing there, not doing anything, not even trying to do anything, just made stupid faces and looked stupid.
And they just let geto walk away like its nothing. Yuki was not trapped at all in ice or anything , not that i've seen at least and we know there were more people in the background with mai, IT WAS TOLD TO US AS INFORMATION. and nobody did anything. whole season was leading up to this moment and then everyone just let geto walk free and continued with their lives like "well, i guess he won, nothing we can do about it. now lets go back and play politics and get on each other throats instead". JJK is definitely amazing anime and this is one of the best arcs i watched of all anime etc.
nanami's death literally put me down in depression so much that when nobara died i barely fealt anything and/or was so delusional and refusing to accept it. Gege knows how to hurt the readers but i feel like anime failed to deliver with this season finale. maybe having episode 24 (as most anime have per season) and have actually explain things better rather than leave so many things so vague and rush from scene to scene making no sense in transitions would be much better
As also anime only I feel you. For me the season finale was definitely a bit of a let down. I personally wasn't happy with how he chose to end Mahito and I ranted a lot about it in the post episode discussion which some didnt make the final cut. But outside of that they kinda just dumped so much exposition and plot related stuff into the end of the season it just felt a bit like word vomit coming out. The whole slide show of the city sequence where barely anything is happening and its just dumping dialogue was brutal to watch. I try to give it a pass cause its not the animators fault theyre overworked but that sequence is just not it. As you said Yuki showing up to just flash her body and stick her butt out is just like uhh okay I guess lol kinda weird to have her not do anything for the most part. Overall i really liked the season but im in agreement with you that the end kinda fell flat for me and definitely lowered my overall score of the arc even though i still enjoyed it a lot. I could talk for a literal hour or more about this shows season 2 lol but overall personally I agree with a lot of what you said. - Red
All I can say is it’s okay to be let down shibuya was so big for 17 episodes they had to leave on cliff hangers, all I can say is they will answer a good amount of your questions next season and imo culling games arc is better then shibuya, more story and fights. Hope you guys enjoy it and don’t read the manga because the wait is too long seeing it all in anime has to be an awesome experience!
Yeah I still rate Shibuya arc quite highly. So instead of jjk being in my top 5 its probably still in my top 10 favorites overall and it could of course go even higher as more seasons come out. Because of the way he chose to pack so many fights back to back it ended up like this in the end. Im definitely going to be staying anime only. I never go ahead to the manga if im really enjoying the anime experience so ill be here fresh for whenever we get some more new jjk content and Im so excited for that day to arrive! - Red
One thing I gotta say about this is Todo isn't Special Grade, and I don't think he can become Special Grade. Nanami and Todo are both high Level 1's, but Special Grades are on higher levels. Even between two people they've teased to be strong in Season 1, Yuta and Hakari, only Yuta is Special Grade. There are only four, Geto, Gojo, Yuta, and Yuki. Which given Yuki is Special Grade it is disappointing to see her not do much, but I wouldn't say Geto brain got away free. Not giving an excuse for what happened, I wish we could have seen something, but I think what was really happening was it was a stand still. Quickly acting could mean the death of some of the students there, she was also stalling so her ally can move Mai and Utahime and others to safety as said in the episode. Those allies are only a few that can't do nothing, and Momo was worried Geto may have more allies as well. Also can't fully say he got away free when he can unleash who knows what at anytime. Even with Gojo there it could be trouble for the other students.
ok correct, i did forget it was actually yuta who is 4th special grade and not todou. somewhere along the lines i misplaced him with todou probably because we only see yuta in movie and todou keeps getting screen time and is always a beast of a character. So yeah that was my bad, as for other things i guess we can somewhat agree to disagree cause i dont really accept everything you say as excuse but i do see merit to your words and makes the narrative better. that being said i would still stand strong on my point that execution was awful. For example if you are putting that much emphasis on yuki's ally is moving mai and utahime then anime should show that and emphasize importance of that act, and instead we got oneliner as a footnote. we dont even see the said "ally" at all in the episode. I needed manga readers to remind me who yuki is talking about cause i had no clue whatsoever considering said ally was just another footnote in the movie yet here you are saying his "off screen" actions were so important yuki had to act like passive waste "on screen" because of said actions. I want to be clear, i am in no way trashing gege's story writing nor i am giving MAPPA hard time, but i think i am not alone when i say this was terrible way to end a season not because of my personal feeling but because of objective factors. JJK as anime is still in my top5 in spite of it, and shibuya arc is still one of my favorite anime arcs i watched in my 30 years of actively watching anime. I am not allowing the bad finale to affect my experience of it as a whole, but i also refuse to turn a blind eye and simply accept something that i think could have done better. Its not end of the world that i did not get the ending i wanted but i dont think i am in the wrong to share my opinions and say we deserved better@@JohnboyTheGamer
