    Now you "need" the larger Scud rotors, in carbon ceramic of course!
    Looking good with those wheels/tires!

      Agreed! Heck, even with the stock wheels the brakes look small. Currently shopping for set

    as Chris Cooper ( a brilliant engineer that was involved in early F430 testing and variant ( like Scuderia development ! )
    says ( and i love this as he IS English and clearly has a superlative command of the language and HUGE cred ! 🙂 )
    Chris Cooper
    "the car was homologated in period for two sets of wheels and two tyres - note these tyres are not just suitable by size alone. They are homologated to type tyres which means they have specific constructions to get the very best out of the car and it’s systems. The factory later homologated another wheel (the scuderia style whee) and homologated a more modern Michelin tyre that is again specific to the car and its systems. We ran our F430 at Silverstone at an official Ferrari day with both the challenge style rims and the new Michelin homologated tyres. It was significantly better with the later tyre.
    Anyone throwing on a generic tyre or a bigger wheel and tyre combo will ruin the performance.
    Note the e-Diff is effected by all sorts of parameters not just wheel size.
    I don’t get the aesthetic thing of bigger wheels but each to their own some people value that above performance.
    Lowering, wheel spacers, all crazy as they make the performance worse but people with high school physics and a credit card often seem to know better than us working in the industry 🙂
    Disabling the E-diff is like turning up for a marathon race in safety boots."

    If you warm it up a bit with a haird dryer or even heat gun on low... it will come out much easier... Done this many times.

    • @ExoticCarDIY
      @ExoticCarDIY  Рік тому +1

      Definitely, if you look in the time-lapse, I use the heat gun a lot, just to get it more than warm to the touch

    Great video, glad you included the wheel and tire specs. I am currently shopping for wheels on my 2005 F430. Would the specs work with an F430 with CCB?

    • @ExoticCarDIY
      @ExoticCarDIY  Рік тому +1

      Should work fine. When I ordered mine via cico, BC came back and asked if I had CCB or not. So bcforged will know if and what needs to be changed to fit CCB. Having said that, there is so much room and I have mocked up CCB on mine and there's plenty of clearance.

    • @ExoticCarDIY
      @ExoticCarDIY  Рік тому +1

      Ya, sort of. I did get new wheels for the e63, but really got screwed by that manufacturer. That's the main reason I haven't posted any e63 vids in a while. I'm not sure what to do

    Hey Ken- I’m more than likely going with the same wheel, tire, and lowering specs as you, but wanting to know since your video, if you’ve experienced any issues in performance, drivability, or ediff since then? Anything you’d do differently? I’m thinking going with a 10 spoke forged wheel by Corsewerks.
    I also did the Forza controller while waiting on my Kline exhaust system to be shipped from Romania- and Roger with Inspired has taken well care of me. I really appreciate your videos and support. The F430 is an incredible car. Thank you.

    • @ExoticCarDIY
      @ExoticCarDIY  Рік тому +1

      Yeah, Roger is a good guy. I looked through his wheels for a while, ultimately liked the simple split y design better I guess.
      Overall I'm still 100%, please with the size, specs, weight and the suspension on mine. You can definitely feel a difference in the weight of the wheels, with the tire, each one is about 9 lb lighter than stock.
      I debated buying some aftermarket springs, but the stocks spring seem more than sufficient for the driving I do.
      The only note I will say about the offset, although my rear offset is much more conservative than many of the other manufacturer suggestions, they still are pretty tight back there.
      If you look at your rear quarter panels, the lip is quite thick, most places it's about a half inch, but I noticed where the quarter panel meets the bumper, it's almost 3/4 of an inch thick, when I was doing some flex testing with a jack, it appears one side can get really snug to that thicker lip just in that area. You could build a bigger buffer by adding another 2 mm to the offset or going a little bit more negative camber.

    Do you have a contact at the wheel shop you purchased at ?

    he SAYS it is OK and he presents some % of difference says it is w/ in the acceptable range .Maybe so theoretically !
    yet he does NOT give any comparative lap times to PROVE he has not affected the cars performance w/ the wheel tire size change ?
    He makes HUGE assumptions w/ out facts and proof !
    I agree lighter wheels ( if as strong ) are better !
