Review/Retrospective of the Swedish TYP33 Gas Mask/Respirator.
The Typ 33 or Type 33 was a Swedish civilian/civil defence gas mask made in case the Cold War went hot, production started in the 1970s and ended in the 1990s.

Very interesting filter. The bottom looks like it is exactly a 40 mm filter part, but then the top is this unique thing. I would even bet it has the exact same measurements as a regular NATO filter on the bottom part.

Probably as even though Sweden wasn't in NATO they used 60mm and then 40mm for their armed forces.

I might have a gasmask that have been used in a radioactive envirovement because when I move my geiger counter to it it jumps from normal 0.20 microsieverts up to 1.33 microsieverts max

Finland also made a copy of this mask called Kemira T or Suojanaamari T. It was like Typ 33 but alot cheaper and worse. They are really hard to come by.

I remember those from when i was a kid, when we got these broschures from the civil defense, like"this is what you shall do in case of nuclear war..blabla" etc..
There were drawn pictures of gasmasks for adults (that one), protective jackets with filters for children (Skyddsjacka 36C), and transparent bags, like a sportbag, with electric powered filters for infants (Skyddsväska typ 39). Pretty morbid, when you think about it. :)

At least you were planned to be issued with them, the British government from the 50s onwards basically said, "Everyone except the elite is going to die in a MAD scenario so you get nothing!"

Hello Weaponsandstuff93! I have a question: do Romanian CF-4 filters contain asbestos?

Apparently some did contain asbestos when tested so don't risk using it, if it's for a M74 or M85 you can just put NATO filters on it.

I would love to see you review the GQ GMC-600 Plus. You always go into great detail and it’s one of the few lower end geiger counters that actually can detect alpha radiation

The O in fOlk is like bOttle,
the SK in SKydd is like SHield but longer back in the throat,
and the A in mAsk is like dUck :)
Y in skYdd is a bit hard but the easiest way i can explain it is the YE in bYE but hard and fast
