Man just look at that 😍....the 4Runner is an off-road monster...i just cant believe people actually climb mountains and cross rivers with these....its so hilarious to see the red jeep struggled to climb the steep hill while the 4runner effortlessly just rode over it like was nothing.😅😅😅....GOTTA GET ME A 4RUNNER !!!
I've had my 2015 sr5 for 6 years now and I still love that thing. Toytec lift, sliders, and some good ol 33" BFGs and that's basically all you need to go anywhere.
Dude this video has some great footage. Thos water crossings....youre not expecting the depth then just jaw dropping watching the water move the whole truck lol. Love it. Great spotter btw
I just bought a TRD Premium package. I sold my cj7 for a more civilized setup. I'm pretty impressed how well the IFS does in those conditions. Nice footage. Thanks for sharing.
Great video and pretty intense wheeling. The 4R is so capable off road especially with the brilliant Atrac system. If you’re gonna be doing water crossings like that, I’d definitely consider a snorkel. It was pure luck that you didn’t hydrolock. I put a Dobinsons snorkel on my ‘10 and while I’m not crazy about the look, the peace of mind has more than made it worth it. Keep up the great vids and keep it shiny side up!
The Atrac system proves its worth to me with the ability to keep it on and forget unlike the locker. As of right now since I wheel in Colorado I haven’t found a snorkel worth it yet as there are rarely crossings deep enough for it to be necessary. However I’m taking a trip to the ozarks over the summer and I will be installing one for that. How was the Dobinson installation?
The Hay Man -Anyone can do the installation honestly with a Dremel or an angle grinder and cutting wheel, which is what I did. Otherwise you’ll need a drill and a step bit as well as a rivet popper. Most tools can be had super cheap so it’s worth it. The Dobinsons install went fine but the template was slightly off. Read directions carefully. I had to make all of my wholes bigger since the template looked good but was off. Otherwise it’s been good and worth the peace of mind! I’m on 4R.org if you’re looking for additional info.
Been thinking about buying one of these. This may have sold me. When you were doing to water crossing was there any water coming into the floor boards at that depth?
Kind of a Frankenstein setup. Bilatein 5100 shocks with Toytec coils up front and dobinson long travel in the rear. Jba high caster upper control arms and I have long travel dobinson shocks coming for the rear. Now running 34inch tires
@@gs8259 No water both times. I don't have a clip of it but I had water pouring over the hood for about 4 seconds. The intake is angled really well in the 4runners
@@othernewsid2 for the most part, nothing. It's great that you found your "spotter" to go enjoy the trail with nice video and thanks for no music we appreciate it!!!!!
Great off road video. Most of all thank you for NOT adding music.
Awesome footage, that 4Runner is a beast!
They are capable for sure man
I just picked up a '13 TE, will receive it this week. Went looking for clips and found this gem. Excellent driving, thanks for posting!
You are going to love it! Mine in its current state does even crazier stuff now
I'm gonna need a new seat cover after that water crossing

What an awesome video! Very impressed what yours can do! I got myself a 21 TRD premium.
Fantastic driving, man!
Appreciate it!
Nice job ..great vehicles
Good video. I have one of each. Nice to see the YJ keep up.
you guys are nutts! BUT damn awesome! what a beast truck . I just got one
Awesome vid, have a silver sr5 myself 2013
Nice driving young fella. Great spotting by her too.
That was some great trail riding!
Appreciate the kind words!
I have a 2011 Toyota 4Runner Trail Edition.
I approve of this video
That was freakin awesome! Yes 👏
really good driving, take it nice and slow, have a 2016 trail 4runner with KDSS and just keep on building it for overlanding, love my 4runner.
I have a 2016 trail w/KDSS as well. Awesome vehicle. Are you lifted, bigger tires?
Those slides holdin up nice
that was awesome, pretty good action boys!
Thanks man! I need to get out more soon but I’m currently in the process of fitting 35s
4 runners are rock solid cars. Best truck out there
Love mine!
‘Truck’ lmao
@@kimo7447 it is a truck after all, didn't you know that?
Nice spot'n when it gets sketchy 👍
4th gen has the center locking diff so I added the ARB front and rear air lockers for a true tripple locked truck
Excelente video!!!

excellent footage.
Thank you!
Kinda fun. Shows what you can do without the buy-in to crazy mods...Thank you.
Awesome river crossing.
Jesus, that's some beautiful country...
great vids
Miss crawling in the mountains
Bless you @10:28 Safe travels...
How do you know if water depth is ok to cross?
If you freeze the video at 1:53 you can see a tiny speck of daylight through the exhaust. Looks like it has a small hole in it
Been thinking about buying one of these. This may have sold me. When you were doing to water crossing was there any water coming into the floor boards at that depth?
how do these trucks make it through such deep waters without the truck stalling from water intake in the enginr?
That river crossing was insane. How did you know it could handle the depth?
Still have sway bars on the front?
What movie did you have it in most of the time during this video
Did you have to air down the tires?
Impressive
I'd need a new seat after some of these trials wow
Those look like the trails you take to get to the hard stuff
Nice video, what mod have you done on the truck? I see rock slider and AT tires. What size tires are you running?
wow she's a good spotter! (6:15)
Are you running the "skinny" tires?
Where is this place buddy?
this is true off road
Rines R16???
He's an excellent driver. Most people go too fast.
👍
Where were you filming? What trail is it?
Same question. Location not in description either.
What lift did you go with?
Kind of a Frankenstein setup. Bilatein 5100 shocks with Toytec coils up front and dobinson long travel in the rear. Jba high caster upper control arms and I have long travel dobinson shocks coming for the rear. Now running 34inch tires
Any water in the truck on that first water crossing?
Nope. Completely dry
@@thehayman7352 Second Watercrossing still the same?
@@gs8259 No water both times. I don't have a clip of it but I had water pouring over the hood for about 4 seconds. The intake is angled really well in the 4runners
This thing is in stock configuration? Apart from the tires and rims?
It looks like it was for the first half of the video, then the footage is after he lifted it seems.
Where were these trails?
All over Colorado
@@thehayman7352 no SHIT
how do i get my 4runner to sound like yoursss. did you delete the muffler?
Custom built Y-pipe to new 2 inch pipe into a cherry bomb muffler.

Do you have a lift on it?
@@SaltyDog69 near the end of the video I’m running a 3 inch up front and 4 in the rear. Tire size I run now is 35
@@thehayman7352 interesting, I was considering the same size as a compromise, is that equivalent to 32?

super. though what does all this do to the control arms, alignment....

That’s correct!
Driving through those water crossings without a snorkel probably wasn’t the best idea..
I’ve had better
Good video! If you want some more comfort when running rocky trails air down the tires. It looks like you got 40psi in those suckers.
That’s on the spot. I would love to air down but still run no compressor. Plan to change that soon
@@thehayman7352 viair is awesome. I run 33’s and the 88p does great. Recommend the 300 for long term. But Amazon has the 88p for 70 bucks.
well done, learn to air down your rubber more
Wait... there are so many comments on youtube saying the 4Runner is under powered and transmission sucks.
It does but I look for reliability in this vehicle
@@thehayman7352 From this video it looks like your 4 runner has plenty of power.
That 4runner need some serious lift for those rocks, river crossing and air down them tires
It’s lifted as much as you need to lift an ifs vehicle anymore and you will constantly break cv’s
Looks good, but a ROOF TOP UNIT....only makes a Vehicle more TOP HEAVY.
Way too heavy on the roof right now. Spare tire and a roof rack. A steel rear bumper will bring the weight down nicely
OK.
2:40 That's why you need a live front axle instead of an IFS.
3:40 That's why you need a front locker even if you have a front solid axle.
Doing harder trails I’m starting to see the downsides of ifs. She gets the job done though
@@thehayman7352 you’ll see the downside of a solid front axle every time you drive on the highway

3:48 *laughs in independent front axles*
How to be stupid. Never take your 4runner over shit like this !!! Unless you just want to destroy it while having stupid "fun".
Gay
Lol the good old jeep, just struggle bussing it’s way through the easy areas. Like expected.
