Matt: These are all smooth curves.
Also Matt: *puts two 105 degree turns back to back*
He is basically Lets Game It Out Lite these days. Except he doesn't give 200 hours of his life per video and just wants to be a bad civil architect instead.
@@SephirothRyu you dare call him an architect
Drift to make it a smooth corner
Truck drivers: it's drifting time.
@@merehuman4758 Yes I do. He is the sort of jerk who would put exit lanes on the left side of a highway. So YES. Also, he is the sort of guy who kills off entire populations and then blames it on an innocent robot beaver. SO YES.
Architect moves every step of the way.
Matt really created a prison island for architects and missed the opportunity to call it architraz
Suppose he gets a pass for being…. British lol
@@monhi64 Isn't Azkaban sort of based on Alcatraz?
Matt, you ought to do a metro system round here or Engitopia will be covered in smog from all the cars
Good Idea. commenting to boost the idea
If there’s no pollution coming from the boats I doubt there’s any coming from the cars. Unless the devs are biased in some way
Ok yea as some one who live in NYC this city needs a subway lol or because Matty is from tge U.K I should say the underground lol
Yes
The Internet is made of tubes. Engitopia needs tubes as well
you should make architect island a tourist attraction kinda like a zoo where people can drive around the outside and look at the weird creatures that are architects
yes this needs to be a thing (also 69 likes nice)
My great uncle was an engineer, and he always complained about architects 😂
Your uncle must be a good man then.
@@spectrastar2749 *great
FTFY
Same for industrial engineering all nice and all, but when the machine needs to work, they call an mechanical engineer 😜
Also. I have a family friend who is an aerospace engineer working on the wings of the 777-X Series of jets.
I have a friend he's an engineer and recently just got married... To an architect....
Make a hexagonal city/district to test out the concept. Because it would mean that all the junctions are 120*, which is much better than the Architect grid that you use.
Bump
Yeah, but the zoning system is really not designed for hexagons...
I ran the numbers (see the CSⅡ guides on steam, "Efficient Grids") and hexagons are pretty bad for density, actually. Having 6 corners like that just ends up making the zoning horrible, so they're surprisingly bad overall.
Much better, if you want something gridded, to do something like herringbone that can have only 3-way junctions while still using only 90° angles.
As a truck driver I appreciate what you did for us 🤣
If you use the roundabout tool you can make the ends of your cul-de-sacs rounded
But unfortunately you wouldn't be able to zone them
You can’t with regular culdesacs though
@@drewbarrymoresdealer but at least you can zone all the way to the node; adding the roundabout just loses you even more space. Might as well draw a loop instead, for the cul-de-sac.
I thought they were spelt like ‘coldesack’
Matt is definitely indulging his inner-architect with those highways lol
Had me in the first half ngl. When he started adding extra lanes for merging. I was thinking this is genius. Then I saw the end result 😂 I’m sure the truck drivers will definitely appreciate the thoughtfulness and carefully planned interchange. 😂
He got me with the first video I saw, sitting there like maybe he’s right and he just accidentally created a very dick shaped land mass, he had some rationale. Then what do ya know a dick popped up in every other vid too, hell I didn’t even see whatever your talking about yet I know what it is tho. Dawgs gotta chill lol
Damnit, it’s not a dick is it. The one time I jump to conclusions
Matt: the smoke plumes are a good indicator of wind direction - no need for wind turbines :)
Don't forget the scenic view walkways for the pedestrians to gaze at the awe of your engineering wonders! One long, winding "walking path" that leads to a single park on a towering plateau, after it snakes above the whole city. (Not the fake "walking road" one, the actual "walking path" from the landscaping tools area. Has covered bridge walkways for some decorations.) Don't forget to take them on a "River walk", to get a "taste of industry", from the air. Possibly a few passes weaving through the windmill intersection too!
Reminds me of spaghetti junction in Atlanta GA
Good job Matt! You are officially an architect.
I love how long the arcitect joke has been going on. Always makes me laugh 😂😂
Joke?
@raznaak Yeah, they even have majors and stuff for it in college. It's crazy so many people are in on it lol
It isn't a joke, it is our duty to let architects suffer
@@th01m3nn A city built entirely by engineers would look like something out of Eastern Europe's Soviet era lol
@@danielbroome5690 With that you mean affordable housing?
Matt: I should engineer this city to be an engineer's dream!!
Also Matt: *proceeds to give architects extreme luxury of an entire isle full of marvelous garbage and beautiful bridge they do not deserve*
and soon their own marvelous prowess of engeneering, self purifying, electricity making poocano !
Who designed how the bridge should look exactly?
14:33 The lorries are gonna LOVE that sharp bend in the bottom right corner 😂
I love how he blends his jokes/personality whit his actual knowledge about engeering stuff, good content bro, honestly
That isn't a turbine interchange, that's a spaghetti bowl! What a nightmare those are to drive in 😵💫
Would be cool if you named your architect island Architraz after the infamous prison Alcatraz . Would be fitting for an island prison holding the most despicable beings in society
I would prefer Alcatrash 😂
@@ericseidel7592maybe Architrash
Get this man to the top comment
Matt lets put that sewage outlet near the architect island then they will have the ultimate smell 🤞
"I love the turbine interchange."
Proceeds to build a spaghetti interchange. Pure architecture.
My dad is an architect and we sometimes watch these videos together (although the games sometimes take a little explaining), he enjoys the anti-architect banter. Keep up the hilarious videos!
You should built a shrubbery around the architect island. It's an eyesore to the people of Engitopia
That junction is a work of genius
The lack of knobs is quite alarming. I hope Matt has a huge plan, that the whole city will become one giant knob. But knowing Matt, there is no plan and we will be soon seeing "accidental" knobs.
Found this channel today and watched all videos of this series, love it! Would be nice to have a playlist of the series since I couldn't find one at the moment.
In CS2, they changed traffic AI so that it considers distance, junctions and few other stuff, meaning that it may be possible not many vehicles will use the new intersection. At least, it should stop residents from taking that entrance. I hope many trucks will use it.
Great job.
I love that you include a ghetto for architects in many of your cities. I didn’t know there was a rivalry. A bigger rivalry than what I am familiar with, cardiologists vs nephrologists.
I just sat down with my tea, time to watch some RCE
Bro be spiting bars “make some knobs to create some jobs
14:34 the interchange on the driving exam
"Dog Parks" are really good and there are small (;
14:14 Those architect pillars on the right. *shakes head*
so i don't know if you noticed this yet.....but there is a tab under the roads icon..... it has parking lots. :P (reduces the amount of cars parked on the street, lowers car accidents and generally improves traffic....i usually throw a medium one in a population dense area like that and not only does it generate you ez cash it just makes everything look nicer. :)
You should find or make a map with the Hoover dam (the biggest dam in the U.S) just an idea I had looking at all of the unused water 🤷♂️
true to caesar
4:10 this is literally one of the reasons I like you more than other CS2 UA-camrs
This has actually helped me a lot in the actual game. Thanks for gracing us with your anti-architect wisdom!
On your « turbine » motorway exchanger there is a little flaw on the bottom right, a very very not truck friendly curve. It can be seen at 14:34 There is also a pillar in the middle of the road at 14:45 on the bottom right also
That interchange made me laugh. Well done Matt.
This is the work of Lets Game It Out
4:20 , your industrial district is starting to look fairly strong.
Car: Another day crossing over the suspension brigde.
*Sees the roundabout*
Car driver: OOF
Looks good so far. Kinda disappointed that the better series are locked behind a paywall but one can only take what they can get.
me too :(
Matt: Industrial traffic will mostly be trucks and they struggle to go up in elevation on roads.
Also Matt: Let's build a turbine intersection for our industrial district connection.
Love the vids
4:40 Really nice coastal road Matt 👍
“and there’s a forest fire over there.”
*brilliant*
Which way is the wind going? While literally staring at the smoke from the smoke stacks 😅
The irony is the AI changes in CS2 makes it so cars judge distance between origin and destination by driving time rather then straight-line distance like in CS1, so no one will use that junction since it's likely faster to go to then next junction and come back.
In Quebec, cul-de-sacs are really common, and it is the official term in signage.
we have a lot in the UK too, also signed as such
@@leonardochapman4736 I'm surprised! The funny thing is that it's a french word and we can also call it a dead end (impasse). I guess a bag's ass sounds much more fun hahaha!
That highway interchange reminds me of your Infraspace highway system.
*loudly and excitedly* YAY ENGITOPIA AND ARCHITECT ISLAND
Love your videos, Matt!
Hint: just use ocean trash collectors instead of getting rid of the sewage outlet
But has he unlocked them yet?
@@GWCBFan i think he has
The road and highway customization is crazy good looking
Put a nuclear power plant in the middle of the highway spaghettis for the little vulcano look with all the steam and stuff.
Should've called architect island 'Architraz'
You should check the production tab!
I love this channel
this is where the enginetopia ll started to went crazy, glad I witness this
Matt: Britishville?! Latin, Matt, Latin: Britannia Ville!
"Coldy Sack" 😂😂
love the vids :)
God I love this series
That junction is an architectural masterpiece. Well done, RCA
Now cars dominate Engitopia. The new Houston.
You invented the Birds Nest Interchange, Bravo sir!
See we laugh...
This is just an on/off ramp junction I saw near Atlanta, Georgia once.
For architect island you need to place a prison and call it archatraz 😂😂😂
6:21 now just join together all the dead ends and you have a proper American subdivision. Good luck navigating your way through it!
J'ai remarquer que les tuyaux qui jetaient l'eau pollué ne se voyent pas donc pour fair eplus RP et que ton rau reste clean, éloigne au max tes sorties d'égout 😊
Love the CS2 vids!
As an American engineer (Not civil) I appreciate all the cul-de-sacs you put in.
Architects are currently well represented in Star Citizen.
With building coming to Star Citizen soon(™), you might want to look it up the architects work and consider a Star Citizen playlist of your own... There may be a little catch-up to do before building comes, but now that there's more structures in cities and settlements and such, there might be a lot of content available for a Real Civil Engineer.
It would be a shame if some other lesser not-real civil engineer took up all that free real estate. 😅
I never got the architect hate before... currently 6 weeks into my first project with some and I'm seeing red 🥴 (aviation/civil eng for 5 years)
Architect island needs a 'canal' around it, filled with POOOOPP
Ps. if you want the demand a bit down you can increase taxes, increasing taxes bring down demand if you get tired of it...and yield more cash money moolah. 😊
I wasn't expecting all the logic when I saw the thumbnail! 😂
Meanwhile, Alienrock start playing Talos Principle 2
I personally love Architects, but your sarcastic hatred of them is hilarious 🤣
That particular turbine interchange you added the picture of is literally 10 miles from my house. I thought it looked familiar.
When making a colder sack Road put roundabouts at the end of the roads to make more rounded colder sacks.
Matt hates architects because he knows engineers won't get paid as much as they do and architects are better employees
They are better at university too
the city looks nice, the job of an architect.
But with such affordable roadways it just makes creating a city in the shape of Paddy all the easier. Since everyone knows dogs are the most efficient pet.
Nice Architechture! 😀
I would say maybe set up a mass transit system of some sort to reduce traffic and that might reduce the noise pollution if it becomes a problem in the future. Maybe a bus network if you need to do one on a budget or a subway system if you can afford it.
you from Birmingham it looks like Spaghetti Junction. Been around that in my lorry a few times lol.
13:55 it’s a motorcane 🌀
See the lovely architecture matt has done to this city but he is becoming the very thing he swarn to destroy
Matt managed to paygate proper gameplay.
Unsubscribed because of it. Lost all my respect
Turbine interchange does not look my bowl of spaghetti
Looks like the way to Den Haag from my home lol
This CANNOT be Engitopia without a Poo-Cano. This is pure architecture otherwise.
5:39 exactly)
Now that's what I call spaghetti junction!
So worried forgot about daylight savings and was like what happened to RCE!?!?
I'm starting to think it was one specific architect that pissed him off lol
Matt should build a wall around architect island, then install the "prettiest" buildings as well to ensure that we can keep them occupied while he builds a masterpiece. Just dont forget about the poo powered water system to feed the island.
Reminds me of the High Five in Dallas Texas
"Pretty Cool Junction (obviously designed by an Architect)."
"Shoving some parts down (Like a first-year Architect student). Even this low level of architecture will make people very happy."
"Destroy's functional housing (Engineer) to add in an aesthetic park (Archetect)."
Have we been secretly watching the Real Civil Architect Channel this whole time?
i sometimes have nightmares about roads looking a bit like that
