- In this video I go over the steps it takes to replace Honda Ridgeline rotors. The steps will most likely be similar to Honda pilots as well as most vehicles on the road.
* Torque settings for wheel nuts is 94 ft lbs.
* After lifting vehicle, be sure to put jack stand under vehicle to protect in the event the jack fails.

I did not need to replace my rotors, however for the sake of the video I have done so that you may see the steps to do it yourself.
Please be safe when operating on your vehicle and do these types of repairs at your own risk.

I always grease the slide pins whenever to doing brake work.
Thank you Yuriy, what was the need to replace the rotors?
Not really any need other than I did need to have them machined after the tow across America they got warped from all the breaking. So finally got around to it and decided to just make a video on replacing them.
@@YuriyMotso Thank you!
@@YuriyMotsoI’m assuming you went the Rock Auto route which has some decent options. I’ve always moved to drilled rotors in the front for not as much as the performance but for the heat dissipation…
Do you like your Michelin Crossclimate tires?
caliper bracket bolts need thread lock aka locktite no anti seize but to each their own
I guess you could go that route but once you hit your torque setting its not likely to have issues. People in the rust belt would greatly benefit from anti-seize.
@@YuriyMotso I always used anti-seize no issue....always will living in New England.
And a torque wrench for them lugs
Rainman Ray's channel is freaking out that you didn't identify the use of brake clean on the rotors to remove the factory oils and residue
Bosch doesn’t specify that brake cleaner is necessary. If you watch their install videos they do not spray them down before install. This rotor is not oily. It’s dry and has an aluminum zinc coating.
Brake clean needs to be called Ray's Spray as much as he uses it lol
Yuriy, you are a fountain of knowledge. Thank you for this!
Do not see any safety jack stands?
Because I don’t have any at this time. When I moved I sold everything. Obviously do not do it without it. I do not recommend it.
good job. Why not new pads while you have it apart. Guess I'm old school and wouldn't want the groves from old pads wearing into new roters.
When I was doing this I accidentally bought rear brake pads not front. I still made an install video along with brake installation video.
how many miles on your Ridgeline and what brake pads did you use? thanks for saying use low setting on the Milwaukee impact, that thing has POWER!
I have 60,000 miles. Brake pads were not replaced in this video. I have a secondary video coming up next week on brake replacement. I would have said that it was power stop extreme but I accidentally ordered rear brakes and not front. Lol.
It was not necessary to do but I wanted to make a video. 😁
Great quick video, also crucial to service calliper slide pins to ensure even distribution of calliper forces on both brake pads... and new brake fluid flush important to prevent calliper seizures in time...
Sometimes as cheap as they are I just replace them when I do a brake job.
Next time do the rear brake video
Thanks
Interesting tread pattern on the tires, what's the purpose?
It’s an all weather tire.
Another top notch video Yuri. Thanks.
Thank you!
did your rotors come without oil coated on them?
Yes.
ρяσмσѕм 😜
It is very important that you tighten the lug nuts to 100 ft-lb equally to prevent the new rotors from warping
I have been doing this way for all my life. Probably 100s of tire rotations and replacements. Never an issue. If anything I’m too strong. 🤣 I do however agree that proper torque setting is crucial but I do also know that this method is effective. Thank you for the torque notation. Just checked and for the Ridgeline it’s actually 94 ft lbs
@@YuriyMotso Maybe its me buying cheap rotors ??!! Great vid anyways!!!
tighten wheel bolts to 90 not 100
Thanks for sharing. Will definitely tackle this.
Now to show us how to change the brake pads too ❤️
Video is in the making. Will be up next weekend. 👍
