I only eat Romaine lettuce I stopped eating iceberg lettuce from the 80s, I always thought it was mostly water without nutrients…thanks for clarifying it for me Dr Joe.
When i see you holding the romaine lettuce on the right hand, i just say romaine lettuce will win this battle of nutrients. Thanks Doc Joe. I always prefer romaine lettuce. 😋😋😃😃
Dr. Joe I have just discovered that raw oats causes you to keep your " muffin top " because of the chemicals used to spray the plants . I use oatmeal every day in my smoothies. I need your opinion on this matter .
Absolute nonsense. Oats are one of the finest grains out there, Louise. The people telling you this are the Carb haters, so not unexpected. They will say anything about carbs, in particular grains to drag you to eat more fatty, greasy foods. That's their style. If you don't want to eat raw oats, then cook it. But by all means, eat oats. Oats are good for you on many levels
Dr. Joe, if you have a blood clot, the iceberg is preferred due to low Vitamin K content, correct? Thank you! What foods do you recommend for eye health? Thank you!!!
In theory, yes, but someone who has a blood clot is probably on blood thinners anyway and we have evidence to support the view that leafy greens like romaine lettuce won't negatively impact the effectiveness of blood thinners like warfarin or the newer generation ones like rivaroxaban
I'm unsure what "1 cup" of lettuce means. Is that pureed to liquid with all air removed? Anyway I find most people count a few leaves as "ate lettuce" while devouring an entire head is nutritionally valid.
Interesting presentation. Thank you as always for the information. Unfortunately, Romaine lettuce is not commonly available in 🇳🇬. You see it only occasionally in high end supermarkets with pricy tag. So, we are stuck here with the Iceberg lettuce😀😀

Hi Dr Joe, In your last video there was a comment with your picture and What's app: with a telephone number in circles so that UA-cam wouldn't delete it. I have seen this now several times in other videos. Is this a scam or some new technology of UA-cam? I always assume things like that are dangerous. It was on the MRI guided radiation comment.

I like comparisons like this. As a child my mother only bought iceberg lettuce. As an adult I just assumed by colour Romaine has more nutrition.
