Agree Evan, Rangers need to do this. The only way the Rangers don't make an attempt is if Mcgroarty himself said that he does not want play for the Rangers. As you said this is a Slam Dunk and Drury should be all over this.

Didn't we recently deal with players who thought they were NHL ready and demanded to be so? Kravtsov anyone? That didn't turn out well. If McRoarty wants out b/c he thinks he is NHL ready right now, that should make you wonder if he has some character flaws. I'm not saying he definitely does, but proceed with caution.

Yes, people are ready to cut the number 2 overall go. He has had his time to prove himself and he continues to prove that the scouts were DEAD wrong on him. Tampa drafted Drouin - a very hot prospect at a time that Tampa was really ramping up. He was let go 2 years later and has jumped teams multiple times with less than great performances over his NHL career. Kakko needs to go so he still has time to try to reverse things. But it needs to be off the Rangers. He was a bust.

Well Vesey was a solid player for us in his ELC seasons. Then he was traded and was stuffed in the bottom 6 with a bunch of teams and grew to be a solid bottom 6 player 🤷 It happens
Also, don’t forget Jim Dolan probably would like to move up in the draft, possibly in the top 10 or would love to announce a blockbuster trade in his building

I would trade kakko for him in a second.Big physical center who plays with an edge and can put up points.His only issue was his skating, but it got a lot better this year

I would move Lindgren and Berard, one sure thing and one decent prospect that they don't have room for on the current roster. I would keep the 30th and Kakko. They can move Kakko next year if he's not working out. He doesn't cost a bundle for a top 9 wing.

Any deal for Jets to trade McGroarty to the Rangers would include Braden Schneider.

with Igor I don't want to do like Lunquist where we gave him a monster deal that made our salary cap top heavy and could not sign any free agency or forced to let our key guys go because we hit the salary cap hell. main priority always have salary cap flexibility and not be forced to sign our stars to contracts that affects it
then we cut ties with Trouba. Pretty simple. You let Igor go, I guarantee he wins with another team before the Rangers come close to winning. He has done his part for this team year in and year out. He should be paid for it. You want to be cap friendly, stop spending 6 million on Kreider, 8 million on Zib, 8 million on Trouba. Panarin and Shesterkin are the two players who have paid their weight, points and effort for what they should be paid. Plus the cap is expected to go up again each year.

I care only how do i get players to win today.. you are right about stopping give big contracts to players like Zib and Kreider.. but lets not forget Shesterkin will be in that category. i look from my team stand point and not threw a player stand point. I want to win not paying someone that will put me in salary hell because "he deserves to get paid" let him put another team in salary cap hell and get paid with another team and let the other team "almost win a cup". i want to win a cup not almost win a cup

From a Jets perspective, I suspect any return from NYR starts with Schneider.
How would that be fair compensation? 30th overall, Lindgren, Chytil, Othmann, Zac Jones, Kakko all fair game but Schneider is steep
@@Kreider20x20 agreed schneider is an established rhd.
Maybe I'm way off, we'll see. Mcgroarty being on an ELC and having more years of team control adds value that would seem to compensate for Schneider being the more established player. It would seem to me to address a need for both teams. NYR have some big contracts and will need some good players on ELC and WPG needs a capable RH defenseman.
