hit the like and subscribe button if you're mind blown by the traditional left hand
cayeminterviews first thing that came to mind lol
cayeminterviews there’s no traditional right hand
Chris Jewell it would be funny to see though lol
@@SkateAndDrum503 if you're left handed there is
The stregnht he does with traditional grip is unreal
This beast is really doing stick tricks in traditional grip whilst playing metal drums? Consider me a fan.
Go check his job for a cowboy cover with traditional grip.
If you’ve never listened to Unearth before, you should absolutely give them a listen. They are quite good.
That traditional grip is unmatched holyyyyyy
My goooooodness! I think that was the best performance you’ve ever captured. I’m completely mind blown right now. Best I’ve seen in a LONG time.
we need more videos of the all mighty Nick Pierce. Great work as always
this is the best thing I've ever seen im seriously in fucking shock
best metal drummer around. hands down. also met him personally, such a humble person he is.
Absolutely incredible. How is he not more famous? Everything he plays is so incredibly tasty and dynamic and the snare rolls - due to his traditional grip - are super unique.
Such a beast!
Lol to the kid flossing to metal in the background. So many oddities in this video, but so good. Sick drummer
This is absolute madness. I remember seeing them 15 years ago in a tiny venue in Fresno. Such an incredible live band.
The drummer from All That Remains uses a traditional grip as well, the only 2 guys i know doing so!
Check Bruno Valverde (Angra) and Virgil Donati (Planet X)
Didnt knew that Rollo played drums, sick!
I came looking for this comment
Always look forward to the videos every day. This band is so talented and they definitely deserve more credit. Love their drummer’s percision and creativity.
The absolute MADMAN.
Damn such nostalgia seeing Nick Pierce. He looks so different now! I remember the days back when he was playing with The Faceless and playing on that sick neon kit 🤘 one of the first metal drummers I ever got really into
It's been 24hrs and I still can't get over how good this is.
AILD Drums On 🤙
I think this is my favorite one yet
I'll echo what everyone else is saying, so fucking awesome when I saw them at Warped Tour yesterday. I saw him play with a traditional grip with one hand and my mind was blown. So quick. Forever a fan.
That was an absolute pleasure!
New generation such talent and brilliance towards this metal community. One hell Of thumbs Up.👍👍👍
Nick Pierce is one of the greatest, next-level guy!
Nick is the shit. Always blows me away to watch him play
Didn't knew Rollo from Vikings was playing drums for Unearth.
Good job as always Cam!
Thanks Tim for all your work! Much appreciated and please keep it up! :)
Fuck yeah! Was there, killer show. Never seen them before but have always been a fan back from the stings of conscience. One of the first metal albums for me. Love your videos!!
Nick brought Unearth back the level they deserved to be at, Derek was not a good fit for them although a very nice guy and a very good drummer. I"m so happy to see them continue on as a more technical band. Love this video!
Superunreal great drumming! You make my day!)))
Nick is one of the Best \m/
As if the performance in itself wasn't enough... The guy add some sick stick tricks to the mix... Fucking BEAST
Fucking hellllll this rips. Still have to come back every now and again.
Fantástico, seloko tradicional grip extraordinário sem palavras
I'm impressed with this guy.
best drummer I've ever seen.
This guy was unbelievable when I saw them live like 3 years ago.
Just crazy good..
What a class drummer
The metal Buddy Rich
I was no shit thinking that same thing
I’m mad that he can do this so well but also glad cause it’s sick af! 🤘🏽
This guy is a fucking powerhouse
Absolutely amazing! 😍
Nick Pierce is a demigod.
Mad respect!!!
has nobody ever seen Jason Costa (ex diecast/All That Remains) play before? awesome to see another metal drummer playing traditional
I've never seen a drummer play metal with traditional grip. One handed or both. Very cool!
ROLLO RULES! nice to see that he Is still a viking.
The amazing Nick Pierce yall. He was hired after dem boys in Unearth from my home state of MA found him covering their songs on UA-cam. Epic story.
I remember seeing this band when I was 13 and I was fucking mind blown by Nick’s drumming. It was under 300 people there and it was insane.
I love that little pocket that he has his ride in, tho I like to crash my ride quite a lot so I can't really do that.
my favourite drummer of all time!
Very good “Traditional drummer” impressive for sure. 🤘🏼
More unearth please
beastly
Wow amazing
Man, Rollo from Vikings is a beast on the kit.
Did not know that Ragnars brother played drums! cool!
Holy shit he's using traditional grip in metal that's fucking awesome
traditional grip yet also has tom & snare setup very similar to keith carlock, impressive!! :)
Many thanks for these videos!!
Not a fan of the traditional grip but holy shiiieeet this blew me away
Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaang
This is what happens when the high school’s big band drummer grows up and joins a metal band.
Is this the same drummer for All That Remains? I haven't seen any metal drummer use traditional grip other than him
Holy fucking shit
You play very well. Congrats
I’d never say that you like this kind of music haha
GigiTB Drummer also you’re really beautiful 😂❤️ where r u from?
I'm from Argentina
@@GGDrummer 🇦🇷🇦🇷❤
Has he always played traditional grip?
Give it up for that ride tho...
That bell cut like a razor
Dat grip doe. Wouldn't be surprised if he's a jazz drummer by night lol
Wow.
Got to be the drummer out of All That Remains, looks just like him and he plays traditional grip.
Nah man, Nick Pierce was one of the drummers in metal that was playing traditional grip back in the 2000s. He's a freaking beast though, especially when he played for the faceless back in the day. You might find some of his old demos on youtube floating around. That traditional grip doing blast beats is insane.
hOW THE FUCK IS HE DOING THIS TRADITIONAL WHAT THE FUUUUUUUUUUUCK HOLY SHIT
i'VE NEVER BEEN THIS MIND FUCKED
Bringing back Traditional Grip like a fucking bo$$
the fact that he has 2 chinas sums up unearth perfectly.
Goddamn Nick,
nunca había visto un agarre tradicional para metal muy chido
Damn
Cool shit.
Fucking beast
It has elements of all my favorite drummers. Adam and Luke's stick tricks, Eric's (WCAR) symbols. Didn't realize he was this technical. I remember listening to these guys in high school. 15 years ago lol. Nice video.
Yah my first show ever was Atreyu, Unearth, Norma Jean and Scars of Tomorrow!
cayeminterviews Fuck my dude that's a sick lineup
Joseph Bastidas Too bad tours like that never happen anymore.
Unearth actually changed drummer in 2012, that's when Nick joined them
Gianluca Ferro yeah I was gonna say pretty sure I saw unearth 2012 or earlier and the drummer was not playing with a traditional grip. Certainly something that would stand out!
This dude has insane heel toe double bass also, watch his tutorial
Buddy Rich would be proud!
Hes using traditional grip holy fuck. I wonder how many metal drummers use that style. Im guessing he learned jazz or other style when he was younger. Maybe more comfortable for him
I’ve honestly never seen traditional from any metal drummers, and he’s doing stick tricks so respect lmao
jason costa from all that remains do it to
it seems like Rollo from Vikings
Rolo is that you?
holy fuck...
So weeiirrd....
Traditional grip in metal?! WTF?!?!?!
The best traditional grip in metal !
He’s been doing it for years lol
You should check out Bruno Valverde of Angra, impressive traditional grip as well
The 500th drummer of this band is pretty good!!
Traditional grip metal?!?!? Noice!
Traditional grip totally throwing me off
Although all that remains drummer uses it to 🤔
Thor on drums
3:10
buddy rich said it himself, traditional grip is ergonomically superior.
jvstndrvms How?
Attila M it creates in alleviating posture for the hand that is using the grip, fairly less stressful on the hand/wrist/forearm/shoulder, and it’s overall position has leverage in the sense of fluidity/sensitivity compared to match grip.
It fucks up the ergonomy. Makes you bend the back to hit properly with the right angle. Buddy Rich was an amazing drummer, but he wasn't a physiotherapist.
Sergio Diez Viñuela as u can see in this video, the angling of the set up prevents what u speak of.
jvstndrvms there's a book in Spanish explaining the proper ergonomics and positions for optimum body performance. Objectively speaking obviously, then if you prefer to change then that's okay, but it's not how the body should be moving to prevent injuries.
Nando moura ?
🤣 all of the comments on traditional grip in metal drumming. love it. his playing is *clean.*
Con quella impugnatura! !!!!!
This bear of a man using traditional grip
HES PLAYING TRADITIONAL WHAT
fuck me,,,,, holy shit,,,,,.
