The gusts pruned some dead branches from trees and actually were very soothing. I had the front door open part of the time so my dogs could watch the downpours out front. We also played out back in the rain. It was a typical tropical storm. Those in flood prone areas or right along the coastline will always fare the worst during these storm systems. But honestly, the Midwest gets worse wind in the summer time and this reminded me of blizzard gusts (sound -wise). Nothing to be overly dramatic about. - St Pete.
@whomeverwherever So basically, the news is being extra & exaggerating some of this. If you don't live in a flood zone, then the stuff they're showing isn't impacting those people, right? I'm not hearing anything about westchase or greater Carrollwood flooding.
Debby, the tropical storm, brought LOTS of rain here, yes. But, it was not a hurricane when it made landfall in FL. No matter how much the media wanted it to be.
Am disappointed that there is no reports in the rural community. Damages to Crops, Farmers, Ranchers. No reports on the Equestrian Community as Horse Rescue or Relocation efforts, to include other Farm animals. Recall loss of Animal Shelters in previous storm events. News need to report responsibly and cover the needs of all residents.

Florida is so lucky for all of this rain ! Some places haven't seen Rain all year long . Some places have big Forrest Fires and no Rain !
