I've recently learned that its very valuable to let people help you back: Not exactly related to my art journey: I was recently helping someone by sharing with her some of the code I've made and she offered to share a different part of the code that I haven't done yet and I was like "But I want to learn to do that on my own way", that was a mistake: Let people help you, that is also a way to forge friendships, and of course help them.
And another important thing about that is not to have some kind of expectation to get rewarded for helping, meaning only do that when it doesn't cost you to do so or if being helpful in itself is its own reward (learn through teaching etc).
