5:40 So he’s saying they can and they will use AI, they just don’t want other people outside the Guild to use it too.
They’re claiming the right to use artwork essentially stolen and put together by the Ai generator softwares, but they also want to prohibit the same thing to other artists outside the Art Guild.
I hope I’m not understanding correctly cos this doesn’t make any sense and it’s idiotic, all artists should work together to make sure the use of AI is NEVER allowed in productions, as it is an infringement of multiples artist’s copyrighted material.
Instead they’re trying to just gatekeep the use of these tools to use it themselves? This is mental, I hope these kind of things won’t keep going unnoticed by everybody. In these Lightbox videos there are dozens of awful takes like this one regarding AI and they completly fall off the radar most of the time.

I don't think that's what they´re defending tho. I think they are saying, since AI is here to stay at least it should be contained within the industry as opposed to have execs managing the thing for example

I hope it will happen like that, and we just misunderstood it, because it would be much more unethical than anything those AI bros + AI companies do together.

It’s getting so cringe hearing people making all these forecasts and trying to dictate the ethics around it all… the facts are that its already learnt what it’s learnt but it can only thrive in industries that rely on copying what’s worked in popular media but all that content gets old after a while. If you have spent your career thriving for and believing this false American dream bullshit that if you get really good at mimicking other art styles you’ll be a success.. Sorry Ai will take your job (that you probs never had in the first place). If you have something to say and/or something unique to offer the world you’ll be OK at least in your soul 😅.

I wish they expanded on that topic because after watching the entire thing, it was only mentioned twice.

I'm a pro artist in the TV/Film industry. These are artists talking about AI of course it's a semi anti-AI tone but they do say okay to AI as long as THEY control it. Look at the TV Academy they had a whole panel on AI that basically was: Scripts and editing should have a human touch but art is fine if done by AI because check out this presentation I made with AI for this panel! The National Academy of Broadcasters just had their convention and it was super pro AI. If a studio can save money on something cheaper and faster I haven't met one that's willing to not go with it. From studios - Their use for us artists is to clean up the AI art work if it isn't 100% correct but we are no longer going to be the main source of art because it's cheaper and faster to use AI. There is already a full length AI movie coming out all you need is an editor to string together the short clips AI can already do. Cost is always bottom line.
