Scala!!! - the new feature length big-screen documentary
telling the story of the legendary London cinema
Original music composed by Barry Adamson
Coming Soon!
I saw a Warhol/Edie Sedgwick double bill the first time I went there. Saw my first Fellini films. I have particular fond memory of Truffauts 'Les Mistons'. Loved this place.
Went there so many times in 85/86, only managed a couple of all nighters but fond memories of the sticky carpets, the rumble of the trains and the cat going from lap to lap..
Went to Shock Around The Clock there, back in the day, and saw Akira there around 89 or 90, with no subtitles. Awesome cinema.
Scala all nighters were legendary.
Brought back so many great memories - I was at the first Shock Around The Clock. Great score, mate!
Mmmmag ik …. Solliciteren..? Als 1 sturzende dj’s💪🏾🔥🎬
Cool! I've only known the Scala as a music venue, and a pretty good one.
Saw today in Vancouver. Excellent documentary. Must-see for film enthusiasts
It's Barry's World,
and we are just part of it.
Owt to do with Barry Adamson "count me in"....he's a genius.
I went to see Stereophonics there on 9/11 - yes that 9/11. Needless to say it was a subdued gig but they turned up and played to their credit.
Can't wait to see it.
please release the original music!! i truly fell in love with it
Wel” done Jane!

Pentonville Road, 150 yards from King's Cross Station
Originally round the back of Goodge Street Station off Scala Street. I went there age 11 in the summer of 1979 with my dad to watch VAMPYR and NOSFERATU. Moved to the Kings Cross venue in 1981...
The Gate was a good cinema.
