Damn, this reminds me of one of those afternoons early 90's. We always used to write words or funny things into Game Genie, because we didn't really understand how the codes are supposed to work (the German translation was crappy). We definitely had one of those stripe codes, too. I also remember once finding a code that modified all SMB3 blocks to contain random things like power ups, enemies, vines, etc. Sadly I absolutely can't remember what it was… If I ever remember, I'll definitely let you know, that one was crazy fun to play.😀
Gruz, you are the man! So Cool!!! 7 Game Genie's worth of codes and he still pwns! Is there another man that can do that? I don't think so! Just rock the screen!
What a great video. What would really knock the socks off this one is if an expert ROM hacker could figure out how all these game genie codes work against this ROM and either come up with new codes that work better without the bugs or come up with additional codes that fix the issues that these 20 codes introduce
Love the mix and match of these codes ya got goin on here. Really looks fun. And speaking of game genie codes, I was working on finding codes for famicoms SMB, on the emulator that is, basically none of the NES codes work so it's like fresh new playing ground. Been trying to find a similar PIGPOG code but nothing yet. Awesome video Gruz! Keep up the good stuff!
AGAPPT: This code will let Mario go down every pipe in every level and the same pipe that you come up out of you can also go back down in it. For Super Mario Brothers (NES).
Sweet game play the codes that remindes me of when i mess up super jump code back in the day on game genie and mario jumped in reverse. rockon keep up the awesome vids.😎✌️
@gruz: You miss your chance to go to the warp zone of world 6 to 8, you actually done need the vine, since mario move faster then the screen the pipe to the bonus area would have bring you to the warp zone instead while that pipe is too close to the right of the screen.
@@zombielokebut it litterally is. if you can make the weird delay effect seen in the video, and combine it with a code that allows three fireballs on screen at once, and a code that makes mario shoot 3 fireballs when you press the B button. (all of which is possible on the game genie)
I remember seeing on a fourm post under a port of Sonic 1 to the SNES that even the NES could handle the speeds of Sonic 1's camera. There's also a hack caller Super Mario Brothers Flow (the main premise is that it removes all the transitions and make the game.. flow), there's alot of different versions of it, one of them lets Mario go super fast and fixed the camera to keep up with him.
Hah! Writing my previous comment I thought "that's impossible", so I tried again and… apparently this only works with the European release of Super Mario Bros 3 and I got it working (in Mesen): "VVILLY" This code will replace the contents of coin blocks with random things. These seem to be predetermined in some odd way. For example, open enough "coin" blocks in 2-3 and you'll get a defeated Morton Koopa Jr. A very fun code, but wouldn't warrant a video of its own. But maybe you'll get another bunch of SMB3 codes, who knows…
Hello friend, greetings. which NES emulator do you use to enter game genie codes in this way, because in the Nestopia emulator (the one I have) it is impossible to use certain combinations of letters. if you can help me i thank you.
Hey, Gruz. Do you have Pac Man on the NES? I uncovered a set of codes by plugging in random letters than using an encoder to modify the original code. Change Enemy Sprites Values: Which sprite? 00 (R), 01 (P), 02 (C), 03 (O) Address: Which enemy? 50B9 (R), 50BA (P), 50BB (C), 50BC (O) And if you change the address to 50B8 you can get scared blue Pac Man, as well as red or cyan Pac Man. I couldn't get the other colors.
So basically, the "Koopa shells move slow" code doesn't even do anything here since you can't stomp Koopas into their shells? Then in effect it's only 19 codes, huh? Deceptive marketing smh /j
Have a great day! ❤✌

It make the game harder. If you don’t beat the level fast enough, the game crashes.
Mario when he has the wrong kind of mushrooms
you could take one code out that wasn't in play is the koopa troopa shells move slow. with the unlimited enemy stomping that code is pointless to use.
"this is why they never made Sonic for the NES"
somari and jurassic boy 2 would like a word with you
Bio Force Ape has joined the chat
Without the speed code this probably might not be that crazy and much easier done.

Close your eyes and listen to 8:37 lol. Also, great video, thanks Gruz!
LMAO

gruz i got a code for you:
TITSEX - makes enemies act strange (like goombas randomly turn or die and kicked koopa shells poofing out of existence)
It is a happy day when gruz is not away :D thanks for the vid!
That was hilariously awesome, Gruz.
When i will have time, i will take it for a spin. ❤
Great combination of codes. I don't like the ones that crash the game or the graphics. Have a great day.
I'm impressed that you still find new ways to keep this one game going on your channel, but then again, that is the point of Game Genie, right?
4:10 - The way you said that was hilarious!
Man, this is soo entertaining.
Just seems to get a bit awkward with the fuzzy controls tho.
Intresting!

20x codes at once and still not as crazy and messed up as YEAAAA.
YEAAAA is the best Super Mario Bros GG code ever.

I got the words Rock the Screen stuck in my head now😂
This made me laugh! Next time, I think it would be okay to use save states to get around soft locks. Love your vidyas!

How are so many mario codes actual words?!
Gruz, Street Fighter 2 (the first edition on SNES) is a gold mine for crazy ass game genie codes with bizarre effects
I can't believe the game still worked... well sort of worked
Your videos are always top notch, I can't believe you only have 52k subs
That made me laugh out loud...good stuff!
This is possible, just plug multiple game genies in.
yea but i dont think he has that many
That was intense!
I wonder if you can alter the code to the point where Mario can charge up and throw three fireballs.
not how it works

That'd send him to the coin cache, wouldn't it? Probably not, since Mario is waaaaay farther than he should.
I create gamegenie codes! I made this one, player 1 play as Luigi
GUNAYILS
Yo dude can you make an one like you eill be able to play as bowser
It was today I realized gruz kinda sounds like bowser
Awesome video, but i had too take a break. Might want to put a seizure warning on those flashing blocks, because they are a bit too much.
how sensitive are you

Crazy Game Genie Code Cocktail
So how does this even work, do you have to "daisy-chain" 20 Game Genie cartridges together?!?!
Thanks Video Game Mark Maron!
emulators exist
TRY "PIUPOG" SO THAT ENEMIES DISAPPEAR FROM MOST OF THE LEVELS BEING REPLACED BY CASTLE ELEMENTS LIKE FIRE BARS, FIREBALLS, BOWSERS AND BOWSER FIRE.
Now do it without any codes that give you an advantage, such as items in blocks and infinite fire flower.
Also why do you need items in blocks if you already have infinite flower? This also negates the jumping on enemies not killing them challenge.
"thats why they never made a sonic for nes"
I have news for you
there are so few people doing those manual corruption or blast the game thing
20 Genie codes and go to minus 1 , dare u?
Sonic for NES, you mean Bioforce Ape
Is #15 an 8 character code to avoid interfering with the SMB/Duck Hunt bootloader?

better chaos edition than chaos edition.

you should challenge Kosmic to do this
Can you double or triple stack game genies in your nes system? Like a game genie centipede. To get six or nine codes?
