I am songwriter finally ready to take my talents to a professional level, so tips like this really help for those of us who are sooo lost on how to do that.
Congratulations!!! i LOVED THE COUNTRY RAP - You have worked hard to get to this point and that is evident. You are an inspiration as I know how difficult things can be for females in the industry.... Wishing you the very best for your future!!! GREAT WORK!!!
Super interesting to hear your story! And a good reminder of how long everything really takes, easy to get caught up in the idea of overnight success but it's so rarely like that.
Yeah, you’re so right. It’s sad but I literally knew only one person that sort of walked into major success without trying that hard. And it was only because all the experienced creators around her created her artistry. It all takes time!
Your story is inspiring, I felt in a similar boat, not having any connections or very much obvious support - I was too self conscious to put it out there but I was always working on my writing. Hearing your story is inspiring, I'm just breaking out as far as collaborating with a few others and I can't wait for the day I get my publishing deal in the future.
this was so inspiration and education to watch thank you for sharing your story I'm really going to take your journey and the steps you took into account when trying to get a music publishing deal too
This really inspired me I learnt a lot from it! Thank you for sharing this video I song write by myself but I my find myself relying on loops provided by software as backing for my instrumentals is that a bad thing?
No! Mostly because no publisher would ever just “take” something you did. It would jeopardize their whole business. But anyone at any time can borrow the concept of your song, the general movement of the melody, the structure, track feel etc. There’s not really anything you can do about that because it’s someone being inspired by what you did, not actually copying. I wouldn’t worry about it too much, honestly!
LMAOO ALINA THAT COUNTRY RAP THOOOO! it was good I just wasn't expecting it LOL. Question: I'm thinking of getting my associates in music production. Will this get the attention of music publishing deals too?
Haha thanks! It might, but generally I know that the only time I’ve seen a formal education help in music is connecting you with other alumni. Like Berkeley grads getting together and immediately having something in common to build a relationship on. Mostly, your growth will be based on how talented you are, how hard you work, how fast you learn, and the relationships you build.
I have a few questions. How did you find the people to contact on social media and how much of a following did you have on your own before you got to nashville? I am an Trap/Rap/Pop artist and I know the process is different but similiar enough and I am gaining traction on spotify.
I’m already working on my first album called Move On and I’m trying to put up covers on my UA-cam channel so I can get noticed by the music industry and sign with a record label
Good Video. A question on the e-mails, where did you get the contacts? Were the e-mail addresses publicly available or did you have to get to know people who gave them to you?
You still have your publishing deal , or did you just lost interest in music and writing, your good and very beautiful, I can see you put a Album out of your own someday, can I be on that record too lol I also write country but r and b some rock, pop ..lol I'm Eclectic you got Instagram maybe we could collab ?

Awesome story, learned alot from this. Question, did you copyright your songs before you sent them to to publishers?

Thank you #learnsomething 💪
quick question: if you are a singer- songwriter and and you write all your songs by yourself, do you still need to sign a publishing deal?
I have a few questions. How did you find the people to contact on social media and how much of a following did you have on your own before you got to nashville? I am an Trap/Rap/Pop artist and I know the process is different but similiar enough and I am gaining traction on spotify.

You can Dm people on Instagram or LinkedIn and ask for their email!

@lyremusicgroup Can you give us any info on the financials of these types of deals? Is it enough to live off as a single source of income?
