It's better than the Let It Be version but I wouldn't say that it is the complete version. I have the Dig It bootleg record and the song lasts 8 minutes.
@@travis570 Hi Harry - yeah I've got the 8 minute version as well with Heather screaming for the first few minutes! It's always puzzled me as to why they only put the short clip on the official Let It Be album when they performed the song in the Let It Be movie including Billy Preston on keyboards and George Martin on percussion. I've also got an alternate version with John singing different lyrics that runs about 6 minutes. Will be good to have the official release at long last - cheers Pete

Definitely getting the Super Deluxe CD set but as with the 3 previous anniversary sets (especially Abbey Road), I'm complaining about the skimpy number of alternate takes and other bonus material included.
Perhaps they should have created a Mega Deluxe limited edition line for the Beatle-crazies like me who want to have the complete sessions - all the music recorded during and around the time of the sessions, don't need any knick-knacks (don't want any dice, wooden bookmarks, figurines etc) and even the book can be simply a well-bound thinner paper softcover edition).... it's all about the music, sounds, studio banter and creation process of the songs/albums!
I agree that it seems like they could have included at least one more disc of material here. And the 4 track EP being one of the discs is kind of a joke!

Sure. But they have to make sure the super deluxe set is worth the high price tag. That's why they save the best stuff for the box set.

That's a worthy combo. The 2CD set would be a cheap upgrade, though.
what is missing is a boxed set on blu ray disc of ALL the footage from the let it be sessions.if that happens i will buy it and maybe some other fans will,too,
I doubt they will ever release ALL the footage, but you can be sure the six hour Get Back film will be released on bluray with bonus material.

I purchased the super deluxe CD edition mostly for the 1969 Glyn Johns mix of the Get Back album.
Sounds like that's what a lot of people were most interested in.

I'd like to shared an important fact of the Japanese Shm Super Deluxe cd set is that is not entirely Made in Japan. Is a hybrid made in the Czech Republic and Japan.

Very well done, Kyle. I’m a vinyl enthusiast as you know but I’ve not yet decided which way to go here. The combination of the single vinyl version with the two disc CD set makes a lot of sense. I’m going to have to give some additional thought to all of this before I pull the trigger. We shall see. Thanks for your advice.

Great job Kyle. I was hoping for 3 discs of outtakes, since the the Abbey Road outtakes were kind of weak. I'll be getting the 5 cd blu ray package. Enjoyed the video!
Yeah, I agree that the outtakes were a bit skimpy here. But like you, I'm going with the 5CD!
It's hard to believe (unless a separate documentary soundtrack album is forthcoming) that they didn't include a cd of the complete rooftop concert. Also, I am left scratching my head and feeling underwhelmed and overpaying for a set that doesn't have a full cd of the best of all the cover songs they did during the sessions; a cd of all the unreleased material from the sessions (Commonwealth, Get Off, No Packistainis, ect.); put all the Glyn Johns album mixes on a cd; and if this box set doesn't scream for a full cd of evolution mixes (I mean they recorded like 25 versions for every song on the official release) I don't know what does, which should also include the evolution of Know My Name, which the final vocals were recorded during these sessions, but the backing tracks date back to as far back as 1967; and they also could have included a cd of dialogue/fly on the wall type material. Instead, we get a 4 song Ep? Wot!?! Let It Be/Get Back sessions are my favorite because I love the raw feel, but have to say, really disappointed in this release. A shame they have to grab more money from us for an additional soundtrack cd(s).

@@TrackXTrack probably alot of what was mentioned in the above comment, they probably delayed this let it be box set to confer with Peter Jackson to not overlap content, that's what I reckon at least.
I agree that the rooftop concert should be included in this set. I was a bit surprised it wasn’t part of it but maybe sometime in the future. Not sure how much of the new Disney+ doc will show of it.
@@SFMarine0311 the rooftop concert must be in the documentary surely, I'd be so suprised if it wasn't. Let it be 50th anniversary got pushed back a year, I bet it was so they could collaborate with Peter Jackson so Id be shocked if it wasn't in the documentary.

I've ordered the super deluxe vinyl version. I know that if I don't and decide I want it later it will cost even more than the current wallet busting price. I know it's expensive but at the end of the day it's only money and it makes me happy to have the vinyl. There are some hardcore collectors out there who will buy it and never unwrap it but, the second that package arrives, I will be opening it and whacking it on the turntable.

If you buy the vinyl box set, you can almost be sure that the music is not as compressed as on both CD versions, with a little more dynamics as a result. A cartridge cannot play a cut signal.

For me the Beatles as the Beach Boys hold a special place in my heart. Their albums that I hold dearest are Sgt. Pepper, the White Album but the two most precious are Abbey Road
and Let it Be. Had to go for the super one. Cannot wait to get it and be immersed in audio paradise. Looking forward to the movie as well.

Something that strikes me as odd is the format of the book. It's quite clear to me from watching your video that the 4-LP-version slipcase is a 12" by 12" format (how could it be anything else?) while the CD-deluxe-slipcase is a book proportion format, perhaps like the White Album CD multi-CD format. That would nacessitat two different formats of the hardcover book. Or a tray included with the LPs that accomodates the narrower book? (We had that before, didn't we?) Keeps me wondering. do you know?
I know what you mean. And since there’s also the Get Back book coming out at the same time, it seems like there could be a lot of overlap, at least in the photos. I hope it is worth having both the Get Back book and one of the box set books.

I ordered the super deluxe cd set to help complete my library and upgrade the unofficial releases. The packaging looks great! I don't expect there is much that I do not have in the new collection but I am curious about improvement on the sound of the material. I have two, gatefold no poster red apple versions, one 80's Capital version, 80's vinyl box set version, 80's cd version, 2014 cd box set version, the Let It Be Rehearsal Sessions bootleg and an early 2000 cd version of Get Back labeled as a Russian release. It has 13 tracks including "Teddy Boy" and the long version of "Dig It". These "Russian releases featured two albums on one cd. Yellow Submarine album was paired with the Get Back album while they curiously paired Let It Be album with Parlophone's Rarities album. Add the recordings included on the Anthology releases and I think I have everything covered.
It's The Beatles! Of course I'm gettin it!
And in December or January when the movie is released on DVD... Well, you already know imma get dat too.

This is about all versions of One After 909. All Beatles have played that tune. Even Stu and Pete played the earliest versions. Fast forward to the Get Back and Let It Be. Is Billy Preston on those.
909 is certainly the biggest "get back" moment on the album for that reason!

I'm very disappointed that Giles' remix will stay close to the Spector version and also the session rarities not being included in the set. The one bit I'm really interested in the Super Deluxe Edition is the Glyn Johns mixes,

Many thanks for a really helpful, constructive video. I would certainly like to see an individual release of the Glyn Johns album, as others have suggested. I have no interest in Gile Martin's interference with the original release, not having enjoyed his previous work, which sounds terrible to me. There's so much more they could have included in this release as well. I feel short-changed.
Kyle, Been a baby boomer Beatles fan since the early 1960s, I believe you will be surprised to know that this Let it Be special edition super deluxe box set will be the highest selling right behind that of The White Album ...it's been 52 years in the making since 1969, and Let it Be has always been a much maligned underrated album and period for The Beatles, and fans. The albums songs are sterling, raw, resilient and are awaiting to be rediscovered with the remix, and the finally to be released outtakes and the Glyn Johns album. Just think about it for a moment, how much more powerful the Let it Be / Get Back album might of been to include George Harrison song All Things Mhst Pass. Just to have the original Get Back concept album with the Beatles at the infamous EMI building is phenomenal. Even Abbey Roads is overhyped and a too slick studio release, where as Let it Be / Get Back is hard charging, raw and " As Nature Intended "...and you're correct, there's more to come from the Get Back documentary release - This will be the Beatles Get Back moment, I will be getting both the Super Deluxe Cds box set, and the super deluxe vinyl set as well!! Worth the Wait.
This should be a great set! I just hope I am right that more is on the way as well!
I'm torn on this one. I like but don't love LIB (6 or 7 on your scale). I suppose I need to spend some time with it this week to decide whether I am going to buy any of this. One possibility is that I will buy the 2CD version and then upgrade to the 5+1 if that set later tumbles in price.
I think the 2CD version is an easy buy for the price and the contents. Anything else, if you don't love the album, may be hard to justify.

Should be an amazing box but it is not perfect. I will be getting the 5CD/1BR for the home and the 2CD version for the car. I still think the Glyn Johns album should also be a stand alone CD/Vinyl release.

Hi Kyle! Wonderful overview of the upcoming release. I have to wonder why the original mix/version wasn't offered at least on the BLU Ray disc! It doesn't matter to me as someone who bought the record 51 years ago upon release, but it just seems odd that the original version is omitted. With the CD EP only having 4 short songs, even there would have been an easy place to offer that first mix. Thoughts? Thanks again.. Of course, these greedy ol bastards will get more of my money!! HA.. After all these years, I can't stop now!!
I have mixed feelings about including the original mix. Everyone that buys the box already has that mix. Almost nobody that picks this up is buying Let It Be for the first time. I'd rather not be charged for another disc that I already have. (In my case, both the original LIB CD and the 2009 remaster.) And I'd rather they include a disc of new/unreleased material than use that disc for something so common. All that being said, the box set certainly would have been more "complete" if the original mix was included, at least on the bluray disc, as you said.
Glad i won't be around for the Let It Be centennial remix.

im not a great fan of remixing albums, remastering yes, [im mainly interested in the outtakes, [i still prefer the get back as the glyn johns mixes, [which ive had on boot for years [i think the boots get it right over apple
That's fair. I think the best remixes are the ones that are respectful of the original albums' sound. To that end, I think Martin does a decent job, and meanwhile we get the Glyn Johns mix "officially" as well. Feels like a win-win to me.

I have not seen an announcement for that. I doubt they would want to confuse people by releasing that now. Maybe in 2022.

It does not look like it. And so far, none of the three Beatles deluxe sets have had the same dimensions.
The prices are crazy. I won't say it's ripping off fans as some can afford it but for ordinary working people The Beatles and McCartney box set are stupid money

Check the publish dates on the videos. The 2021 ones on The Beatles official channel will be the 2021 mix.

hey kyle...always great to hear from you....as far as the let it be special editions, as you know, i don't like cds and i don't buy cds....but putting that aside, i am surprised that the deluxe cd set only just contains a blu-ray rather than a choice of blu-ray or dvd...i don't know a single person who owns a blu-ray player...i know some do, but i don't...so even if i was to get the cd set, the blu-ray would be a waste for me and others...but you are the only one i know who said what i've been thinking...that the 'missing' pieces, like the rooftop concert, will fit into the peter jackson documentary, both on home video and soundtrack release....it's disney, so it's probably exclusive...be well my friend...stay well...peace always....rocky
Many deluxe editions actually include both DVD and bluray. Pink Floyd has done that, for example. The downside to that is that it adds more discs (and a higher price) without adding more material.
I think they should have put more effort on the cd-covers in the box-set. They seem dissapointingly simple and low- budget.
Well, I like half of the. The main album jacket remains with the classic cover art, as does the bluray version, and that seems appropriate. I also like that the Glyn Johns Get Back disc uses the cover art that was originally intended for that proposed album. But the other three covers are just... meh.
Did the Glynis mixes appear on Anthology 3? They’re what I’m most intrigued to hear.
I don't think those mixes were on Anthology 3, but I could be wrong.
Personally i'm disappointed the 2 disc CD version has the new Remix plus the second disc of selected outtakes.... It should have been the Glyn Johns mix of the original Get Back album on disc 2 surely!! What a con!!!!!!!
Well, everybody wants different things, so there's some people that would not have been happy with that choice either. Ultimately they want to make you want to buy the big box.

I listen to Let It Be about once a year, and I dislike it more every time. But I haven’t listened to Let It Be...Naked, I have a feeling I’ll enjoy it more
