You are both awesome, Sarah and Keelan. It is good to hear all the good and bad things about your Cape York trip. Things you have presented are very important for people us to hear. We were going to go to the Cape this year but heard it was very crowded during the school holidays and was treacherous towards the tail end of the "dry" season due to wash outs and potholes. So many thanks for a great video.

Hi Guys u did good. I lived and worked on the Cape in the 70’s and 80’s. The cape can be tough. But it’s fun. I had a 1973 Landcruizer went to and from the tip many times. Cockatoo, Gunshot. Etc awesome fun. Spent 6 years on the cape driving and Motorbiking on the Croc Run three times. Awesome. If u haven’t been to the Cape go. U will love it. Just watch the croc’s at the Jardine.

200 series, Sahara maybe! Another great episode guy’s & not boring at all, good info & I believe you answered a lot of questions people have and then some. It was good to get the final blows on what happened to Percy after the bath and a great analysis of the types of issues one can expect in these circumstances, 8yo alternator is ok under those conditions I reckon. I was surprised how much power you used when you back fed power from ur van to Percy at Cape Trib? Anyhow, look forward to ur future episodes and adventures in ur new 200 series. Cheers
Good guess mate! Thanks for watching and commenting!! Thought 8 years was a fair effort!! We had a fair few days of no sun and it all contributed to fly batteries!! Since cape we have been offgrid for around 4-5 weeks and havnt plugged in! Still on 95%!! Thanks legend
@@SarahandKeelanTravels Yeah, I thought u had total off grid capability. I would definitely consider 24v or 48v system in future builds, I dont need to tell you the benefits, but one is the possibility to weld if need arises. I have duct taped a piece of welding glass to a beer carton for a helmet to make a bush weld many years ago with 6x2v 1100A Telstra batteries, but 24v-48v lifepo4 would be great for this, as a lot of trailers break down on the Cape. You might have to go to Bunnings and get some plastic lawn edging and place it in your guards to keep the stone chips away

Weipa has a Woolworths and it was the last reasonably priced supermarket.
Bamaga is expensive because supplies come in by boat.
Oh, and a Defender like the one you had with you has everything you want - towing, payload, bush ability etc.
We didn’t make it that far unfortunately a Woolworths would be a treat up there though
