- This is an order for a customer than wanted bright neon colors. Although it didn’t turn out like I pictured (shocker), it turned out really pretty! Epoxy used is Envirotex lite. Glitters shown are the end can be found at www.fransglitterandmore.com. Use this referral link for a $5 off coupon OR use the code at the top of her page: i.refs.cc/Fkm1M...
Looks so nice! Different from the beginning! Supper fun!
I love these colors! It's a beautiful tumbler. As a beginner I found this very helpful and I love the patterns made with the alcohol inks and heat gun. Thank you for a great video!
I’ve learned quite a few tricks I’ve never thought to do. Thank u. I need a Turner I can take it off easier so I can do my swirl up and down to move it more. Great idea. Thanks.
I’m going home to make this cup today. Love it! I live in Houston and need to visit you
Use an automotive tack cloth to wipe down your cup before you put epoxy on. You can reuse them by keeping it in a ziploc bag. It removes oils, lint and anything that might be on the cup. It also prevents fish eyes.
Good idea! I forgot to mention at the end of the video that there were no dry spots. I didn’t even think about it until I started the next cup! 😆
Hi, Watching from Vermont, love your cups!! Ive messed up my first three but not giving up!! Thanks for your help.
I’ve been at it a while and STILL mess up! 😂
Always looking for new to me painting and different mediums to use. I think this awesome. Thanks for sharing
I'm just learning how to do tumblers DIYs, I love your videos, great work
Bummed I missed the live, but this turned out so great. I haven't brought myself to purchase the white, but it has such GORGEOUS effects. Going to have to do it, give it a try. These are just too beautiful.
Hello from WA! I love your alcohol ink technique! I am going to try it next!!!!
It's amazing what the heat gun does , great
danssv8 it’s a must-have for sure!!
Pretty!
Texas and Oklahoma....if you don’t like your current weather, just wait it’ll change. Lol I’m an Okie and can totally relate regarding the weather.
So true!!!
Just got 2 orders of ink in, reafy to start again doing cups. Chery from Osceola,Ia.
That is beautiful!!
Hi from Sheridan, Wyoming! Its -4 degrees here now. About a foot of snow.
😳 🥶
Hi from N.H. Ty for showing us how to do the cups.
ND I love your site.
It could be from dust particles and also the epoxy not being completely 1 to 1 ratio I've learned that from watching a lot of videos
Love the colors! Looks great!
Where can I get the wood turner with easy to remove pvc to hold up and down. Thank you
I am trying to say hello during your live event, but can't figure it out. Anyway, thanks for sharing your art with us.
This one was from last March. I try to go back and edit the titles to say “no longer live,”, but I missed this one. I fixed it, sorry! 😆
hi watching on replay and you sound like me from Alabama
Thank you for another great video!
☺️ you’re too sweet! Thank you!!
I don't know if this will work: try putting the camera behind the cup as you work on the front side. hope that makes sense. Just seeing the video today 3/16/20. I'm still trying to perfect my inked glasses. thanks for the video.
I’ll give that a test run. On the lives it’s definitely tricky to try and see comments and keep my giant hands out of the way! I love the interaction part of lives so I need to make it work! 🥰
Envirotex is all I ever used. Ace hardware sells it as well
Ooooh! That’s great to know! There’s one super close to me!
This is what I use as well.
Envirotex is not FDA approved.. look up epoxy is not your friend and you will see why this is important
@@krystalwhite4981 That's why I tape almost 2 inches from the rim
Hi love your work ,

@@ThePurpleStitch you are my inspiration to try new designs
Creating with TSD Creations thank you!! You can post the link to your channel here! I’ll be sure to link your tutorial when I do mine soon!!
@@ThePurpleStitch I am trying to think of a cup to make that people would like to see done and Ty
Where did you get the inks? Do you have any links?
I wipe all my things down with alcohol to remove any oil prints or anything else that may be on it
I’m new to this
Very nice
🥰 thanks!
From missouri
Where in Texas are you from?? ☺️I’m south east not far from the coast, around Voctoria area. Girl the weather has been crazy this weekend😂😂, but not so funny this week getting into the 90’s😢😭😭😭I HATE when it gets so hot!!!!!! Idk about you but I want one more cold front that brings temps in high 60’s to low 70’s with the sun shining bright!!!!
Hi! I from Abilene but live north of Fort Worth now. I bet your hair gets crazy with the humidity!! 😂
Missouri
Do you have a work area and a separate area for curing? My wife and I were planning on dabbling a bit in tumblers. I'd like to design the space so we could have 5 cups curing at one time.
I typically work on the single turner and then move my cups to my 4 cup turner to finish their “spin cycle” 🤣. If they no longer need to turn, but I need the space, I have holes drilled in a 2x4 that fits my threaded coupler perfectly. Plus o have a few smaller turners so I can really hammer out some progress!
@@ThePurpleStitch Great info Thanks a bunch. Keep up the good work!
Love your cups were do u get your ink from
Most came from Michaels since they have the 3 packs of Brea Reese. Many home come from hobby lobby.
Where do you get your glitter from??
Almost all of my glitter comes from www.FransGlitterAndMore.com. She’s great!!
Fort worth here
Hello from Missouri
Sandra Hinde hiiiiii!!! 👋
What brand of alcohol ink. I've only used tim holtz because I'm not sure of other brands. Thank you!
These are all Brea Reese except the white, it is Piñata.
Which color inks did you use? Also, what steps do you use to prep you cup? Which paint and sealers do you prefer?
I used the colors shown on the picture with the exception of the pink. Green, yellow, blue, orange, purple.
The Purple Stitch Thank you! Do you have a group on Facebook?
Which brand and type of sealers do you prefer?
Chauna Casteel not yet. I was considering it. But not sure it would be helpful or not. 🙂
😆 I CLEARLY didn’t read everything, I’m sorry! I sometimes sand my cups before paint, but not every time. I nearly always do a base paint coat either to make inks stand out or help glitter not look patchy. I usually lean towards Rustoleum 2x. Krylon is ok in a pinch.
Do you go live on UA-cam?
Yes sir! I did a live just a couple nights ago. I try to announce at least 30 minutes prior or more. 🙂
This cup is AWESOME LOVE LOVE LOVE THE GREEN!!!!But green is my favorite color
Georgia
Is the white that you added an alcohol ink or something else?
Yes, the white is Piñata brand white alcohol ink in this video.
How do you prep the tumbler before you started with the Resin
I spray painted it with Rustoleum 2x flat white. Sometimes I sand as well.
I did alcohol ink like this and the colors started to look like long caterpillars how do you stop from it doing this ?
Were you able to tilt the cup for vertical movement? And was the epoxy runny enough?
Hi, what is your epoxi ratio? 1: 1 / or 1:3 ?
Most are 1:1 but there are several with different ratios. I only have tried one 1:3.
How do I get on live?
Chat is only enabled when I’m live streaming. After that ends, it’s comments. I believe there is a red “live” in the top corner when catching a video as it is live streaming. 🙂
Louisiana Hi ❤❤
Hey from Kansas
Hi! 👋
how do I sign up for Fran's monthly subscription? I can't find it on her page.
Join this group and watch for the post. She just posted yesterday and it is pinned to the top of the page. Make sure to answer the questions to join the group! facebook.com/groups/343433819820080/?ref=share 😁
If I bought a white couple ready can I use that or do I have to Prep it
It mostly depends on what the base is. If it’s a powder coating, it definitely needs to be sanded. I have a video where I stripped a cup that wasn’t prepped and done on a powder coat base. It peeled right off.
Thank you
I'm new and my resin gets bumpy? Why?
Could be a few things: temp changes during curing, too thick of a layer, etc.
@@ThePurpleStitch ty
How much resin did you use on the tumbler
I probably used about 20-25 for the base to swirl. Then a couple of thin layers of top coat. You don’t want it literally falling off. But if it’s too thin, it won’t swirl.
Do you need to use a heat gun with it?
Vanessa Morga it’s definitely helpful to get movement in the epoxy.
I wanted to add that I used an embossing gun from the scrapbook section for about a year. So that’s a cheaper alternative to try it out.
The Purple Stitch I have a heat gun I just wanted to know what your thought was! Thank you!!
