Read the whole book front to back. There are a few things that I think could be improved upon. The book tells us not to try to defeat the hounds, but they make an entire spellskin society that wants that, and many spellskin players are likely to have lost a loved one to the hounds. You really have to treat them like the lady of pain, but they really beg to be taken down as a grand finale. I'd love to see some more published campaigns for this setting.
Ahh, Deep Thought is so good! One thing that would have bene nice to touch on (I understand why this isn't the best time) would be how different threats could interact with each other. How would the Direstaves react to a Crawling Awful Vault rising to the surface. Or The Sign of the Hare stealing drawings from cultists of Deep Thought to understand magic more deeply. Or The Thirst allying with some dark gods to combine power and how that forms a growing dark empire that needs to be stopped. If you slap any two motivations together, you get some neat potential adventures that way!
I've recently begun exploring the Drakes of the Dark Sun setting, and WOW they would fit in perfectly in Planegea. They look like dinosaurs. They're deeply tied to the elemental planes but can wander around the "material plane" (or just the center of Planegea) without issue. I'd definitely feature them heavily if I ever ran a Planegea game.
@@mikefett5989 Thanks. Yeah, it's annoying we never got anything official for Dark Sun or Mystara or Birthright in 5e, but you should be able to find a fan conversion easily enough, I would think.
Some published adventures could easily be adapted for Planegea. Expedition to the Barrier Peaks - instead of an alien spaceship that's crashed, it could be something from the far future that was teleported back in time. Any plans to do a review of Vecna - Eve of Ruin?
Now I'm already thinking of a story for Deep Thought, that's such a cool ass thing that I missed when I read through the book. The fact it has an apparatus of the crab is... interesting. Maybe it's a sentient device created by Kwailish and sent back in time to learn the secrets of cosmos, but warped and achieved some sort of godlike power by moving through billions of years.
Deep Thought is similar to the Helladarion from a Brazilian RPG setting called "Tormenta". An artifact that stores all the knowledge of the world and has a religious order sharing with it all the knowledge they possess.
Ho im very happy to have recently discovered your awesome channel i was wondering if you could cover old school characters Warduke Strongheart and Kelak sometime thank you for being amazing!:)
Brother Jorphdan I have to know where do I sign up to play in your online D&D Discord games ! I have to get a game in with you as the DM/GM one of these weekends please good Sir! Even if it's a mod pre gen mini campaign or one shot it would mean the world to me. Cheers , aloha , shalom and happy gaming! :D
The more I hear, the more I like this setting
+1 I bought the book after J's first video on it
I agree.
I ran lair of the night thing recently its really good
My favorite setting! Love this!
So with dragonborn being "born" from the volcano i feel like there could be a way for some to be stunted and broken in a way thus forming Kobolds!
Cheers, Jorphdan! You're one hell of an inspiration! Much appreciation for everything you share!!
I love all of Jorphdan's video content!!
woo!
More deep dives on this setting like you did with Eberron!!!
Eberron has about a 20 year head start and 20 books
Fun fact: I actually work for Atlas Games, the people who published Planegea. It’s a really chill environment, amd everyone I work with is sick.
In the lair of the night thing is great!
I’ve liked this series - would love to have follow up covering your playing and what happened in your campaign
I've been chatting about the game a bit at the end of my weekly live chat on the second channel.
@jorphdansjocularjunction
I liked the first few videos. I LOVE this one
Thanks for the info. I wanna do a Campaign in this setting.

I see that lich skull you worked on all those years ago, in the background. Good to see you still going after this time. Also hello!
Outstanding video! 😉👍
I wish you could do more Planegea stuff, you really sucked me in to the setting.

Perfect! That's a great link. I wish we'd get dark sun and psionics in dnd5e so I could blend them for a PlanegeApocalypse campaign

5:03 can I get the artist credit for that artwork? I've got a similar being to *deep thought* in my homebrew world and it's a great portrayal

Yep working on reading through Vecna now! :)
@@Jorphdan I've been going through your videos. Nothing on the World Serpent Inn?
Nope! But I should make one!
10:16-10:19
Hear! Hear!
I enjoy all of Jorphdan videos
Very fun and interesting setting
Deep Thought is the computer that invented the Earth in the Hitchhiker's guide to the Galaxy Trilogy. #42
It absolutely is. The creator knows this and its funny as hell. :P It's also like... a really good name for a rock computer embedded into the earth!
It was also a chess computer in the late eighties, named in honor of Adams'.
I thought it was a Linda Lovelace movie
@@bluebird3281 You mean Woodward and Bernstein's Watergate source?
@@tomkerruish2982 😉
2:19 that's a Code I can work with :-D
D&D Beyond should adopt Planegea!
Great for the creators of Planegea, horrible for the setting.
That would be cool as long as it doesn't get absorbed into the wider canon.
i love these, consider doing some theros content as well
@10:13 ... wow! Louise Fletcher shout out! :D
Ok fine, i bought the book

"Wrap up"? Aww
I'm really digging this idea... No really. After 6 feet, my shoulder hurts. I don't know how I'm gonna make this. Maybe i should try this in LEGO

Seriously? An artifact called Deep Thought that knows everything?? Well played, guys, well played
I feel like the reason the view count is low is because people are mistaking the thumbnail for the previous video
so you go to Deep Thought and ask it questions about life, the universe and everything?
😅
It will probably just answer: 42
Ho im very happy to have recently discovered your awesome channel i was wondering if you could cover old school characters Warduke Strongheart and Kelak sometime thank you for being amazing!:)
its ok. kai winn hurt me too.

How many roads must a man walk down?
please do a storymode of the campaign you guys have been playing if all players are cool with that

Wrap up?! ...awww :(
Really, we're gunna nab the art but not mention Edgar Rice Burroughs Pellucidar evan once! Can't look at this Planegea without thinking Pellucidar!
I enjoy all of Jorphdan videos
