    One of the things i find is lacking from most speculative evolution worlds is that we never really get to see the environments in action. Watching your world moving is inspiring and unique. Altho some rough edges could be worked out (concerning textures and walking), ur designs are immaculate, the music makes this so much more enjoyable and the fact that feels like a snapshot of a normal day on this planet is incredible. KEEP ON THE HARD WORK

      I mean, walk cycles are _hard._ Getting any creature to move convincingly takes either a ton of time, or an absolute expert. And the textures... They're fine in my opinion.

      I can see the similarities with BBCs Alien Planet. These seem mostly fungi like creatures with a few arthropods. There is also inspiration from Discovery Dinosaur Planet scene when microraptor is being hunted. Complex life would most likely find convergent ways to come up with the same solutions life on Earth did. And this is the logic conclusion from observing how the same ecological niches keep being filled over and over through the hundreds of millions of years life has thrieved on Earth.

    I’ve never seen anyone render a torn up corpse of a spec-bio subject!
    It’s gotta be such a risk / challenge: from a artistic biologist’s perspective it has to reveal the underlying anatomical structures/tissues and their physical nature whilst in a state of partial disrepair; from a 3-d artist’s perspective it’s so many textures / translucencies / structures to render.
    But any detail you can provide in such a scene communicates a wealth of information to the viewer and I love you for it!

    • @pesterjest
      @pesterjest  2 роки тому +12

      You're right, though having the bone structure roughly modeled with the organs was helpful. I didn't get to show it much in the film but the skull and cervical vertebrae of the corpse are fully modeled.

    These alien design are far more realistic and alien than most which are basically just slightly different earth animals. Well done! Very original I loved it!

    • @allthelittleworms
      @allthelittleworms 2 роки тому +11

      @_____ convergent evolution is only so common on earth among organisms with the capability to make similar body plans. jellies and fish share the same environment but have completely different ecological niches, bodyplans, and ancestry, and so look completely different. there is absolutely zero reason to think that alien life would look anything like earth life at all, especially when you consider that half of life on earth looks totally alien compared to the rest, even with common ancestry. who's to say life on other planets has dna? cells? muscles or muscle analogues? to come to the conclusion that alien life would probably look similar to earth life you have to assume a lot of things that very well could have been and definitely are completely circumstantial to life on earth. and that's just not very realistic in my opinion.

    • @Naz1Killer
      @Naz1Killer 2 роки тому +1

      @@allthelittleworms its still very realistic to speculate that SOME aquatic aliens will look similar to Earth's. Orcas and Whales are mammals yet they've developed dorsal fins to suit their environment, and Penguins are birds yet their wings took the shape of flippers to help them traverse waters

      @Embassy_of_Jupiteryour talking like these planets are gonna have similar histories to earth, there could be some sort of chemical in the air, or maybe they evolved in totally different enviroments or animals, not all planets are gonna start like earth or end up like earth, many of earths animals rely on other earths animals. Anteaters, hummingbirds, etc wouldnt exist in a climate like that

    Ok I'll be ruthless but please understand I think this is a f*ing awesome work. Intro is good and well-written although it might sound kinda cliche. It's sufficient context for the actual vid. 3d is sweet and I can't imagine how many hours it took to make it and how many more to render it. In my particular case, which is that of a visually impaired human, the animation makes it kinda difficult to see what's going on, however, oh the sounds, they are great, really great and mitigate the nature of the camera. Although probably people with good sight would have no problem. I did miss the narrator on the rest of the vid. The shortness of the clips (which, again, I'm sure took forever to make and render) make it hard to put narration on it, but still, some words, if even just chapter names would've been nice. All in all, great work and I really hope you make more of this.

    Wow, this is amazing! I've only ever seen 3D animations of speculative biology in a documentary titled "Alien Planet". The 3D animations really bring out the life of the speculative world. Obviously there are still some things which aren't perfect, and I do suggest maybe adding some more sounds and audio effects to further enhance the immersion. But in general, the visuals and music are heading in a great direction, and the narrative aspect of the film was an interesting touch. I'll be waiting to see more from you, and you definitely earned yourself a subscriber!

    Amazing job/art. Very creative way of imagining different forms of life that don’t look Earth like, the multiple eyes or receptors resembling eyes are a nice touch, and the hands of the apparently intelligent aquatic aliens at the end are pretty creative as well. Your overall concept gives me “Fantastic planet” + Wayne Barlowe vibes ✨✨✨keep creating with that amazing talent that you have!

    Did you do this in Maya? Animation is way harder than people think. Just understanding the tools and controls and functions is a monumental effort, forget the actual act of it. I minored in it and it was just brutal.

      I did end up really liking the flipbook 2d program though, and some of flash/An. But the 3D programs just broke my brain. I applaud your skill and patience- this is truly impressive when you understand what it takes to create.

    kinda floaty animation on that little guy in the first segment but given that the whole project is likely done on a tiny budget and as it seems just one guy i have to say realy great. upvote well earned.
