Thank you. I've been layering my clothing lately because it's been about 30 degrees when I leave the house in the morning, but a very comfy 50 degrees when I get home. So I need to be able to strip off half of whatever I have on just to keep from overheating. 😁😁😁
Hi Sue! Love the Imari plate, hope you go back and get it. Is it just me or does anyone else think Paul knows Sue all too well and sets little Sue traps? 🙃😀
I remember the gold luster Fireking, in laundry soap and oatmeal. I remember gas stations that still had attendants, gave glass away for buying gas. The stations had glass cases under near the pump, to choose from. That was in late 50's and early 60's. Later on, dish towels came in the laundry powder.
That's right - I remember those gas station giveaways, too. And I got my Tressy doll by sending in a label from the dishwashing liquid - Palmolive, I think... Ah, the good old days... 😀😀😀
I hope you’ll be posting new items in your store soon. You’re looking wonderful. Hope you’re feeling better. Love your videos. You’re one of the most sincere and most knowledgeable of all the you tubers I’ve watched. You truly have wisdom and kindness in your heart but I treasure your honesty most of all. Thanks for being there and sharing your thoughts with us.
Have you checked out the SueMe Angel's Facebook page? They have a lot of jewelry repurposers in that community, so it could be a good resource for you. Or just a good opportunity to make some new friends with similar interests. 😊
I like watching these vedioes such information to be learned. And when explained how or why pieces are priced or produced in ways makes sense. Thank You 🥰
Hi Sue, I remember the glasses given away in laundry soap boxes in the 1960’s but I recall them not being depression glass but grayish black. But this could have been a promotion to market the laundry soap. My Mom would collect it since my brothers and I would break glasses by accident and it was worth getting for free, Lol! Oh my I cannot believe that the objectionable doll has multiplied into a family. I definitely wouldn’t consider buying anything from that booth as and I imagine having those dolls probably is a detriment to their sales. Oh geez! 😳 Pat
I love the look of green depression glass mixed with milk glass. Both inexpensive and easy to collect. I have a black light and my grandson likes to look at the “magic” glass that glows. Always a wealth of information Sue! 👍
I have some uranium glass pieces, and I love the look of them, but they have to be handled with caution. Please try to limit your grandson's access to the uranium glass - it is a potential hazard. I doubt it will do him any harm to look at it from time to time, but please don't let him put it in his mouth - I don't know if he's old enough to be past that stage - and please don't let him eat or drink from it. Some of those pieces had very high uranium content, and without a geiger counter, it would be hard to tell how much uranium is in your pieces. A little won't do much harm, but a lot could be dangerous. 😊
And it was very popular not too long ago. However, the lamps I deal with are vintage, so I need vintage - or at least vintage-looking - shades. The fringe replacement video coming up in the nexyt week or two will show you how to remove this fringe and replace it with something more appropriate to a vintage lamp - but it works the other way around, too. You will see how to remove plain fringe and add eyelash fringe if that's more to your taste. 😀😀😀
Looks like cornsilk on that lampshade. I have amassed a nice collection of uranium glass. I also have a bevy of Hall Lipton teapots, some with matching creamer and sugar bowl. Not valuable, but I love them. They remind me of my youth and my grandmother who would serve me tea out of her gold pot and fresh homemade bread with butter and sugar on it. I also have a large collection of Murano glass. I like things that sparkle.
@@suemeonyoutube my maternal grandparents had 15 children and times were lean. The bread with butter and sugar was probably a treat they would have readily available for the children. I haven’t had it since I was 10, my age the year they both passed away. I loved it and I loved them.
Hello Sue and Audie. I do love watching your Bedford shopping videos. I look forward to your tutorial on the weird hair lampshade. Not picking up just 1 more for just in case? The crazy eyed doll is toying with you bringing her sisters, I think an exorcism may be needed. As much as I don't like these am grateful to be living in a free nation right now. I do like depression glass & thank you for the vinegar hint in the prior video. Aside from toys in cracker jack boxes or cereal I don't recall the glasses other than as gifts with gas purchase. Leads me back to remember the green stamp books. I'd be happy as a clam if my home was all vintage in that era with art deco pieces and my favorite art nouveau. One can dream.
Sue as a child in the 60’s -70’s I remember crystal wedding oats always had a “crystal” piece in each box. I can’t remember a dish being in the washing powders but I do remember a dish towel inside each box. Seems to me the brand was “trend”. Sometime in the 70’s the glass dish was replaced with a plastic cup
Love the new shade on the lamp. Great deal on those little rice pearls! Yes they are easily older than 20 years, those specific pearls do not show up much in jewelry any more. I would walk away from that hideous little statue too, it is not kitchy just tacky. You look great in the sweater of course.
Thank you. I don't like the idea of trafficking in those items. It just makes me uncomfortable. I remember them from my childhood, and I always wondered if there wasn't something seriously wrong with the people who owned them... 🤔
i'm really glad to hear you talking about the offensive dolls etc, whenever i see them on ebay or etsy im horrified :( but hi, this is my first time watching a vid i found you through a crazy lamp lady vid from last yr :)
Hi Sue, I have a set of dishes that came from the Fab boxes! I love it. My siblings tease me every time I use them! You know, I always loved depression glass. I was drawn to the pretty, delicate patterns and colors. I never understood why so many resellers would shun it when shopping. I understand it now that you explained how inexpensive it has become. I still love it. Have a great day! XO Kris
It's a good time for buyers, so keep your eyes open. I got a pair of lovely sherbet glasses for $3 just a couple of weeks ago. So if you don't mind mis-matched glassware - and I sure don't - grab them when you find them. The price will go back up again - it's just a matter of time. 😊
The brown lampshade looks wonderful on the lamp. I kind of like the eyelash fringe on the light colored lampshade .It would look great on just the right lamp but I am sure if you change it up it will be even more fabulous!
The changes I am planning to show work both ways - you can tone down an "over the top" shade like the one with the fringe, but you can also dress up a plain shade. Everyone has their own tastes, after all... 😀
If you ever come across the black depression glass, in the wild, please point it out! I never knew that this color existed! Thank You, for the shared knowledge! ☺️ *I Google it & it is EXQUISITE! Is it pure black or does it always have a tinge of amethyst?
Easily - it's not a difficult project. It would take a bit of time and patience, but very little skill. That piece was solid, but I thought the peeling paint made it very unattractive. 😊
You look great in that sweater.

Sue you're looking better and better with each video. I'm so glad you're feeling better.
I get such a kick from watching your videos! You are so personable and explain things in great detail. I learn alot from you. Thank you, Sue!😊

Thank you Sue for letting us tag along on your shopping trip.
Hi Sue! Love the Imari plate, hope you go back and get it. Is it just me or does anyone else think Paul knows Sue all too well and sets little Sue traps? 🙃😀
Yes, I would’ve paid up for that because it’s different
oh my god, this doll being after you is crackin' me up!
Hi Sue. I'm loving your videos and I'm learning a lot. Greetings from London, U.K
Another fantastic video
Thank you! 😀

I think that the lovely fresh water pearls could trim that pretty little lamp shade. I repurpose jewelry. They will make beautiful gifts, too.

But I like the silky fringe! 😳😳😳🤦♀️
Common sense is like deodorant. The people who need it most never use it.
😁😁😁
