Hello Rob ! I'm fortunate to be going back again, I only had 100.00 or so in my pocket, so I stopped at 21 records ! It has to be fair for both if us..it definitely worked out for me ! Thanks .
Dud ! Bill had so many killer records, they are mostly from Northern California thrift stores, back in the nineties ! nice guy, and I barely scratched the surface.. going back, and thanks for checking this out. Did you go to Josey Records lately.. Mark ( Mad 4 Vinyl ) mentioned that you might have.
Hi JT. It was like an episode of 'American Pickers' as you went "in deep"! I'm amazed you managed to find anything that came up to your quality standards ... The best find for me is 'The Best Of Funkadelic' on Charly.
And I am going back ! You will like what I bought in Dallas at Josey Records on a lay-over from Bangkok and Japan.. ( filmed that and uploading tomorrow). Bill has nice records, about 4000 actuallyand here in the high desert, the climate is dry. so vinyl is in much better shape than other parts of the world.. Thanks Carl.. for watching ! That was " The Real Wild " LoL. !!!
LoL. I just now saw the part where you said you're trying to stay cool when you saw that Pearl jam album... That's when you absolutely have to use a poker face
Yeah.. Bill is an absolute great guy, and enjoyed talking to him.. but was trying to stay cool for sure.. 3 of those are valuable. And all are what I like, and more !
Awesome records, JT!!!! Love that Quiet Riot album. Goats Head Soup rules. That Television album is a classic! I’m a big time Madonna fan. Megadeth!!!!! Yes!!!! Great find.
The PJ for 5.00 is worth 20 times that.. finally went over to his house, glad I did Chris ! was wanting that Megadeth this week, seriously. funny how that happens.
Yeah.. I love them too ! I have their debut, and I will go back and get the one you saw ! Country Rock is important to me, and I have been compiling some more obscure ones. Country Funk" and a few others, three recent Poco pick ups as well ! Thanks for watching.. what a dig, cant wait to go back !
Jt - What a fantastic score!! I'm so happy for you. On your next visit, go back into the box where the jazz was. It was hard to see, but I think there was a Blue Note after the Eddie Harris title. PJ OG - My favorite title in their catalog. Too many great titles to mention. This just proves that these titles are out there. Happy Hunting🙂
I'm laughing because at the end of the video, I said PJ's "Vitalogy" was from '84 !! Fatigued, for sure.. fixed it on UA-cam editor.. takes awhile to kick in. Thanks Mark, always fun talking to you ! Gonna get some jazz next go round, and I know the title you are thinking of, right after the Eddie Harris on the flip video.
I don't collect much in the way of 12" singles but that ZZ Top is so cool. The car guy in me just loves it, and I grew up on the album. Of course it was a cassette at that time.
Yeah Eric.. had to pick it up, ( ZZ Top )..and I'm going back. Will see if Bill will part ways with some of the killer jazz that I flipped through. It's a different kind of pick, because he wants to keep some that I pull out.. Man, I did really good though ! PJ Vitalogy.. What !!! ( and the Beasties ).. all of them actually to my taste.
Nice drive over there too blue skies and puffy while clouds. Looks like Bill has a good selection to pick from. I have most of what you picked up. But not Andy Griffith, but I have one from the Andy Griffith show. I have the ZZ top and also the ZZ Keychain that I bought at a concert back in the 80's. I don't have Megadeath or Pearl Jam.
Yeah.. I really like Pearl Jam ! And when in a Metal mood.. that Megadeth is excellent ! I've told everyone, I'm going back again, soon ! Cheers Harry.. and Bill was in Radio, so those records he used at Northern California stations. He found mostt at thrift shops back in the 1990's !
I listened to the Megadeth, it was pretty good, Now if I run across it I'll get it. Bill has alot of records in his garage. My 3rd garage is almost entirely records. But I don't store anything flat unless the records are in poor condition or I don't care for them and they are getting ready to be donated. I don't try to sell anything that is poor. I have a Sonny Stitt on Prestige that somehow got cracked into 2. I lined it up and super glued it so I could listen to it on a cheap turntable and it played through. I use a cheap suitcase record player in the garage to preview my records to see if they are worthy of coming in the house.
@@harryriles8609 Very nice ! Tons of records huh Harry ? So fortunate to be invited into his home and pick and buy ! I use my Technics to sample thrift records, and have a Fluance RT 85.
I was using a Sansui sr-1050 for the longest time. I really liked it but I just bought an Audio technica so I could play 78's in the house. I still have the Sansui and a Technics. I have a Audiotronics transcription player with a big 16 inch speaker that I was using for the 78's and they sound really good on it. But I don't bring it in the house. My wife doesn't like it inside the house.
What some amazing records, I don't know how you didn't just freak out....Pearl Jam Vitalogy, Television/Tom Verlaine, Beastie Boys and so on, just so many to even name. Quick trivia on Split Enz...they started (and ended) as a progressive band. You may have just won best vinyl finds of the year. Amazing!
Thanks Mike.. I didn't want to film his whole garage, or give out where he works, because his whole garage is packed with records ! I was thinking guys would be contacting him ! Haha. I'm going back again, and it looks like 4 to 5.00 per record !
You passed up some that had me scratching my head. If you're a collector and not a flipper I'm sure you did well. I would have grabbed those too, but the Linda Ronstadt Di Me Padre record gets 40-60 and I saw a Sonny Rollins Blue Note and a Impulse Coltrane in the flip. There must have some great stuff in there.
Right.. I saw those too, and am going back ! I can't get them all, and if I pick all grails, he has a pretty good sense of whats what. I am lucky to be going back soon, and have to be respectful. Those two are on the list..Again, have to be respectful, and do this in stages. Thanks Man for the heads up anyway !
Hundreds of records ! Have to treat this one differently, I do buy to fill holes in my collection, and I have 4000 records myself. When I'm ready to sell, I will do well, because I know how to do it. Thanks again !
Great finds Jt. I don’t have that Verlaine album, think it was a promo? Plus you paired it up with the Television albums. Great finds all around. Like to see what you get in followups. Cheers.
Jack.. Should even be better, on the next time around. I only scratched the surface, and knew that I had 100.00 cash in my pocket, so I stopped at 21 records. Thanks !
Wow that best of Funkadelic is awesome..I think that only got released in the U.K.? 68 Guns by The Alarm is one of my favourite songs ever.My favourite Rod is ‘Every Picture Tells A Story’, an incredible record. Great stuff JT.
Harris ! His records are endless.. about 3,500 or so. I filmed other box's, and there was so much more, I had to stop, knowing that I will be back, and I only had 100.00 in my pocket ! There are two more Alarm records, and "Every Picture" is fantastic. I am so bad at ranking stuff, Your fav is more consistent than "Gasoline Alley" actually. Alright, great to hear from you Man !
I'm currently watching Netflix From Scratch. But when I'm not watching television 📺, I like to listen to Television 📺. Nice Split Enz cover 📔! I'm not alarmed that you snatched up The Alarm ⏰🚨. 🦓
Did I say '84? I am sleep deprived, and excited on this haul.. thanks so much ! I bought this album when released and our band at the time took a lot from these boys, and Alice In Chains..
I fixed that fatigued mental slip on UA-cam editor.. still Jet lagged from Bangkok to home, which is Reno. I appreciate you pointing that out, because that's one of my best thrift scores ever at 5.00 and I am a massive PJ fan ! Cool !
Their Bill section has a story. He had warehouses of vinyl. At his store he had no prices. You Went upfront to his register and he priced them after looking at each record. Different dude
Nice haul! Quick question: How do you clean your records after you get them used from thrift shops or record stores? I have been using my Spin Clean system for a few years now but my interest was peeked with the Vinyl Vac system that you pop right onto a shop vac. Thoughts?
Honestly, I am so busy, and don't have a system right now.. so many of my records are already clean, and many have been cleaned when purchased ultra sonically. I'm not picky about cleaning a brand new record when opened, I know many go nuts about this subject. At the end of the day, they are my records, and they sound great ! ( I will be getting another system soon )..
I did ! And he has two cats, I'm allergic !! Haha. The records are in great shape, and cleaned the dust off the jackets.. clothes in the washer, and a shower ! Cold that day as well..
I personally think you saved the best til last as Vitalogy was such an interesting album and quite risky little singles or hits off of it. I had a goats head soup with the banned UK poster but flogged it. Yeah Mike PC 31 is a lovely guy and an accomplished musician too we have seen proof now.
That is a rare 90's pressing, pleased to have it on vinyl.( Pearl Jam ).. Mike has become a friend , a great guy, I have two of his original Cd's, very good, and accomplished ! Ask him about them if you have a chance .
Grace Jones and Television would have been must haves for me. I am surprised he let Pearl Jam go for $5. I would guess he does not keep up with the price of vinyl. Nice stuff
PJ was 20.00 and that was my offer , because I don't want to rob him, or low ball , really great guy, he doesn't want to bother selling them online, with 21 records at 107.00 , it worked out to 5.00 per record.. I'm goin' back in Steve ! Haha.. Too much fun ! Thought of you when I spotted those Grace Jones LP's !
What !!! thanks Art, had a feeling, but Bill was talking, and I don’t mind.. the man allowed me in his home, and into his collection.. I'm going back, maybe tomorrow.
Hi JT!! what an amazing haul you had, congrats!!!! loved the Beastie Boys and Pearl Jam, two you don't see very often. Killer Def Leppard addition and Megadeth too.... I also only have Yes "Going..." on cd. Also two Stones record in great condition, i'm assuming you have a nice copy of Deep Purple "Machine Head" otherwise...... and cool you grabbed QR too, i only have on cassette. cheers and be well
I do have my OG "Machine Head" it was hard to choose with only 100.00 in my pocket ! 21 very nice records Cristian.. Going back again, "Shades Of Deep Purple" was there too ! Thought it was in my stack !

I would have jumped on that Ruby Starr record in a heartbeat. She had one of strongest and most powerful voices ever. Similar to Janis Joplin. From Milwaukee I think. Saw her several times with her band Grey-Starr. She sang with Black Oak Arkansas for a while and is featured on Jim Dandy to the Rescue although I didn't really like that band. Get it next time.
I will ! Glad you commented about her, and can never forget when she used to do that Jim Dandy duet with BOA.. I get it how you don't care for them. ✌️

OK.. I tried very heavy art books, and in the garage up to 1 week ago ( warm ) would have been first to try..and leave it for weeks.. then, originals Vinyl offers to flatten with a devise, I'm not sure how. but they guarantee flattening. They have 3 Ultra Sonic Cleaning machines as well, even their 5.00 records are cleaned ! I go to San Francisco every 4 months, or so. Long story.. I haven't fixed it yet .

Yeah, I was there earlier in the year. One of the best. Was even at their store in KC over the weekend. 🤟🏻
@@ConcertBuddie Nice ! Alright, I will tune in to your channel later and see what's up ! Cheers.. JT
That Funkadelic album is a classic! Very nice!
Amazed to see it in the stacks, nice 21 records on this one ! Thanks..
Awesome haul ! I'm sorry you didn't grab that Goose Creek Symphony, love that band.
Yeah.. I love them too ! I have their debut, and I will go back and get the one you saw ! Country Rock is important to me, and I have been compiling some more obscure ones. Country Funk" and a few others, three recent Poco pick ups as well ! Thanks for watching.. what a dig, cant wait to go back !

Fantastic haul bro
I named it " Best Haul Ever".. I should change it back ! PJ.. 5.00 and worth a whole lot more than that ! Beasties OG.. WOW !! Thanks Josh.
Nice og press of Pearl Jam
Soo sweet ! I never thought I would have that on vinyl.. ever ! Beautiful copy JC. !
I checked it was a jazz title on Liberty.. I'm definitely going back for Verve, Blue Note, and Impulse ! And Oh yeah.. everything else ! Hehe.
@@harryriles8609 Bill does have 1500 or so stored in shelves as well, haven't dug there yet.. I'm going ! Cheers .
Mom's Apple Pie? Lordy I would have grabbed that one
Yeah.. I saw that ! Going back again in a few days. Thanks Stoner. definite Honey Hole, and a very cool guy !
I have the uncensored version.
@@jtsrecordroom3963 I can't blame you for not wanting to divulge his location especially since you are going to revisit.
Bro I saw so many fantastic albums my mouth was watering..lol and not just at the Nancy Sinatra 😁
Dude ! That was the absolute tip of the iceberg ! I could have stayed there longer, but knew I only had 100 or so on me ! Going back !!
I'm currently watching Netflix From Scratch. But when I'm not watching television 📺, I like to listen to Television 📺.

Cool !
Josey. Wow was there in August. Nice prices if willing to dig. Went to NTX vinyl too who has UA-cam channel
Their Bill section has a story. He had warehouses of vinyl. At his store he had no prices. You
Went upfront to his register and he priced them after looking at each record. Different dude
Yeah Greg, I found some great inexpensive prices, and dug pretty good there at Josey's . I missed this comment somehow.. Thanks !
Did you shower after returning home from that dig? Great finds for that amt of dough.
That starland vocal band album is a good record
Funny you say that, I have a minty copy that I will always keep.. I love pop music ! Thanks for checking this out !
The spainish Linda rondstadt album you passed on is going for up to 100.00
What !!! thanks Art, had a feeling, but Bill was talking, and I don’t mind.. the man allowed me in his home, and into his collection.. I'm going back, maybe tomorrow.
Art.. it's sealed ! I'm going back anyway.. will see. Thanks again. I was busy chatting with Bill.
Hi JT!! what an amazing haul you had, congrats!!!! loved the Beastie Boys and Pearl Jam, two you don't see very often.
You passed on "mom's apple pie" the banned album cover version. . Go back!!!!
I did ! Bill wanted to keep that one, I might ask him if he would cut loose with it next time around, thanks for the heads up on "Mom's Apple Pie" !
Wanted to let you know that I found a sweet sealed copy with the banned cover on e bay ! The one Bill didn't want to sell wasn't the best condish.. and it is such a great album ! Real pleased, and I can't wait to spin it ! 👍
Yo Jt…How’s your holidays been? Did you pick up anything when you swung by Japan? I’m just checking in to YT briefly. I’m still on hols myself at Magnetic Island….Cheers…Ben
Bought 6 records in Bangkok, and on the way home through Henada Airport.. they wouldn't let us into Shibuya ! Two of our vaccination cards out of 4 of us.. needed boosters. Next time which should be March, need to go back again. Had an absolute relaxing, fun time, and did hit Josey Records in Dallas on a lay-over before arriving in Reno. Have a great Holiday Ben !

I forgot to ask you how you will fix the warped exile on main street record.
Wishful thinking is how ! Hehe.. Step one has worked for me, before..
Ok thanks I'll try the garage method on one I need to flatten.

@@harryriles8609 It's online, I found a UA-cam tutorial. There is an oven method... you will see, and most like 4 or 5 or more big heavy books in 100 degree , or so heat. Leave for a month !
