Hi Tuco! Thanks for the shout out on Rachel’s channel! Nice Miles Davis find, and that’s a good looking house, even if you are still setting it up! Take care!- Jean
Hi, I’m new to your video series. Thanks for this great tour of different record hunting adventures. Was fun looking through the bins with you, spotting records I have as well spotting records that are frequently seen in thrift stores. I think you pass up a few rare easy listening jams but seems you’re pretty thorough west looking. I notice a lot of those disco single 12 inch LPs. I have learned to look at labels whenever I find records that are just in an inner sleeve or without a cover at all. That’s how I found several rare test pressings.
Relay an enjoyable video tour of record hunting and your new place sure is cool, great that you have a basement for your music room. I hope you like the acoustics. I was wondering what that really great easy listening song is that you played several times in this video. It sounded almost like a James Bond theme but done by someone like Ray Conniff Orchestra.
Thank you! The song in the video is just a free download of royalty-free music. I'm not sure what it's called or where i got it (i never have been able to find that particular site again)...but i dig it! I thought it sounded like a cross between Bond and Ennio Morricone, but now i totally hear the Ray Conniff too!
Hi Tuco!!! so cool to see your new place..... now you really have a lot of work to do!!! Never heard any of those records before, but Miles Davis and JJ Cale at a thrift store, that's awesome. cheers and be well
Cool cover in Electra Glide in Blue soundtrack. It is one of my fav 70s films. I have the original finnish movie poster of movie. And nice Miles Davis finds. Congrats finding house!
@@VinylHunter If it definitely different biker movie, because it is from the view of police. It have all good elements of 70s movie where anything could happen.
It's cool te be able to compare thriftstore in the US and where I live (the Netherlands). I used to do similar videos where I showed the records, but it takes i little too long to edit for me.
Its cool seein someone film videos in an area im so familiar with idk how much of 50s pop ur into 50s and 60s is my main era i enjoy i even have some Johnny mathis and andy williams but i listen to it all i recommend ronnie dove i saw one of his in there👍😁
I'm really into space-age bachelor pad music and exotica (late 50s early 60s)...that's about as close to 50s pop that i get...you'll see me pick up a LOT of that stuff!!! Probably lots of stuff that's right in your wheelhouse! In fact, I've got a video coming up sometime in the next few weeks where i pick up maybe 60-70 records at an estate sale in Columbus Nebraska! Do you live in Nebraska?
Yes, the band "Chicago" does most of "Electra-glide in Blue" soundtrack. Robert Blake's 70s films are so unique and that one's ending will shock for sure. Paul Cotton's first major band was Illinois Speed Press, then he moved onto "Poco" after Richie Furay left...
Once again, a nice vinyl searching adventure! All of those failures are worth it when you factor in the amazing albums you can find. Wow, Miles Davis in a Goodwill.... I think I would have passed out seeing that. That Housemartins vinyl was pretty sweet too, I've got a comp on CD from them, but no vinyl. "Happy Hour" was their biggest hit in the US I think. I do remember hearing it on the alternative station a lot. Electra Glide in Blue would be another great soundtrack to find. Love your videos.
Holy crap I went to that Peter Pan Fantasy Land show when I was a kid, the record you showed at the very beginning of the video huge flashback LOL......crazy diggin Tuco , get that room done !!!!
Yeah they had many 12" singles...i just had so little time (only half hour lunch break) to go through all those records....so, i usually end up missing something because i didn't have the time to look them all up. Thanks for stopping by!!!
Congratulations on the new home! Loving the search and dig. I seriously HATE when a thrift shelves their records face out on some high shelf..like how can anyone really leaf thru them?? Somebody liked the Heritage USA Singers.
Oh man!...trying to flip through that top shelf one-handed while filming was nearly impossible! I've got another scenario coming up soon where i was in a thrift store, and they had their records on the bottom shelf, they were standing upright, but here was nothing there to support them standing upright...they kept falling over...i kept losing my place...if i remember correctly, i had to grab things from nearby shelves to help prop the records up, all while sitting on the floor, with people shopping literally on top of me!
Hey man congrats on the new pad! That basement has def potential Love the brick area is that like a fireplace? Man just be really careful that the basement doesn’t take on any water like during a hard rain as it could spell disaster for records! I learned that the hard way in a rental place I had Anyway back to the vid!
I definitely don't want to be the next Steve Carlson! What a nightmare that would be! This basement looks dry...but you never know. My plan is to have probably 3-4 crates of records in the basement, and they'd be on a shelf, waist high/browsing level...so hopefully they'd be safe from taking in rain water.... But, now you've got me thinking about the OTHER danger! Don't put them under the upstairs bathroom!!! One big turd can overflow a toilet and wipe out a collection!!! My other fear is that the big record shelf in my bedroom, because of baseboard trim, sits about 2" away from the wall...so i can't screw it to the wall. Hopefully it doesn't fall over! I AM confident that it is stronger than any store bought shelves...tipping is my only concern.
I rarely pass up novelty records and would have grabbed that Lou Monte LP. you flipped through early in the video. He was an Italian American singer popular in the '50s and '60s and did a lot of Italian themed novelty numbers.
TUCO, I know this is old information now when I'm watching the video, but congratulations on the house! When you came across that REO Speedwagon Decade of Rock and Roll it made me kind of laugh. I've always been an REO Speedwagon fan. At least up through about 1981 or maybe it was 1980. I love some of their 1970s LPs and especially Lost In A Dream. But when you came across that LP you got, it reminded me of when I found it again 2 years ago. I really loved that one growing up because it was all live but man was I disappointed when I realized how poor the audio is on that recording. I never knew it as a young man when listening to it but the audio on it is just kind of a muffled Hi-Fi it seemed. Still a great LP but I'm hoping one day they might put out a remaster of that one. I'm still looking for the Friday Music repressing of You Get What You Play For. I've bought three or four copies of the regular pressing of it in the last 2 years looking for a really good copy. And then I saw that Friday Music had done a remaster on it but I'm not going to pay $125 to $200 like the crazy people online are asking for it. I've been thinking for a while that sooner or later there's going to be some REO Speedwagon that you come across. And it looks like you finally did :-) I enjoyed the hunt and keep up the good work! Brian in Fort Worth 🎶
Obrigada! Sim, eu tenho muitas trilhas sonoras! Eu acho que provavelmente cerca de 250 trilhas sonoras e partituras! Eu tenho um fraco por eles 🤣😂🤣 Ennio Morricone, crime/espião jazz, Goblin, John Carpenter, etc!
The most interesting vinyl find I had at the Columbus Goodwill (I go often I'm from Norfolk) was a copy of madness one step beyond. Sadly it was destroyed, water damaged and moldy. Still almost bought it
Man!!! I HATE when they happens!!! I've had that happen several times when you come across a really good album at a thrift store, but it's totally roasted!
I don't have know idea what motorcycle cop record was, but it was looking really cool. Swedish folk music!!?! :D Omaha Nebraska, place I'd like to visit one day. That will be nice music room! Really interesting to see progress. So LaVIsta is close to Omaha... If I someday found myself from Nebraska, I'll need to ask from you where to go. Maybe I'd like to go to all record stores. I guess that Mozart cd is really common in thrift stores also there. Here it was every where in some point. Titanic soundtrack I might have bought if it was really cheap. and isn't goodwill always cheap? mr. Finglish (Bäd English Recs)
I'd gladly show you around if you ever came here! Bring the Gas Mask! Goodwill records used to be 59 cents here...not anymore...i was surprised this store was only a dollar!
@@VinylHunter That would be cool. we all have to have dreams. I am dreaming also visiting again in Japan someday. But like ABBA sings "Money money must be funny."

The last 2lps are a great score. My bookshelves are super heavy duty. They were cut to proper measurements outdoors. All assembly was done in the basement and the problem is that if I ever have to move...they will never go through the stairway. Oops! Overkill doesn't pay as I won't be able to take them apart. At my old house, my music room was on the main floor. I built the record shelf right there in that room. But I did take care to make sure that I would be able to get it out the door... unfortunately I never considered having to move it into a basement. And mines glued too so it can't come apart
I e seen that Robert Blake Cop ST around and I take it out and look it over every time but never grab it! How is it? Is it cool or what? If so I may have to pick it up Cool grab on that Miles Davis album! I like how the music of intrigue plays in the background and as it builds I’m just expecting you to unveil some unholiest of grails Haha! Going through shitty records has never been so interesting LoL! Cool stuff! Peace ☮️✌️👽🤘☮️ PS Id probably have grabbed that Rare Earth Get Ready even tho I already have it! It’s a good solid rock album!
I haven't listen to Electraglide In Blue yet (or ANY of the records I've bought in the last several months, for that matter) Couldn't tell you off is any good yet...but it's bike related so i had to have it! I'd thought about the Rare Earth. I know Get Ready from oldies radio. I was just telling someone, I usually don't pick up too much stuff that i hear on oldies radio...not that i don't like them...in fact oldies station is the only radio i listen too!...but, i end up NEVER pulling out the records to listen to them...so I'm TRYING to not buy them so they're not taking up space!
I just listened to some Electra Glide In Blue on youtube...meh. Very 70s but not in a good way. 70s porn, but not in a good way. I know those last two sentences are enough to get you to buy it just to see what I'm talking about!! 🤣 I wouldn't spend more than a couple bucks on it...it's got a nice looking gatefold, so it's got that going for it. One track starts out sounding a bit like John Carpenter but quickly takes a turn to the shitty side!
Yeah I've thought about that...i just think I'll have a hard time aiming it...plus I'm not trying to bring attention to myself...i think the only way I'd be able to aim a gopro would be to wear it on my head...and I'm just not down with that. I can film more stealthfully (is that a word?) with my phone, and only occasionally have a struggle with flipping and filming at the same time
I always hit the ‘thumbs up’ button cos it tells me I’ve seen that episode.
