This is one of the best tutorials I have ever seen. Very clear and to the point. No unnecessary chatter. You make it look easy and fun. Thank you so much !
I’m currently making this. What I’ve found so far is I’m making the L size for my shape, I’m a 6 US / 10 UK but I’m using finer yarn. I’ve been able to change it in a way that as long as my measurements match up to the pattern I can use additional squares for either width or length. I’m also using 3 rows of double crochet for the arm edging purely because my upper arms are on the larger side. Thank you for this video it’s so informative, I’d call myself an advanced crocheted and I still followed along especially the triangles and the whip stitching 🥰❤️
Wow this is gorgeous. I will make one later. But for now , what I was searching for was how to attach granny square sleeves to a sweater. You give the very best instructions. I’ve learned so much from you over the years. I have a black fuzzy, low nap fur, I guess you would call it, vest. Mom gave it to me for Christmas 3 years ago and I’ve never worn it. And my attempt to wear it again this year ,just in case I suddenly like it, I had a vision of it with granny square sleeves!!! It’s a black vest and the smaller 5” square with multiple colors line in black is what I have made and I’m attaching them today.. I’m sure it will look so cute. And my mom will be so proud that I finally wore the fur vest.
The pattern works, I like how simple the tutorial is. The sad thing is, I made a cardigan and it didn't fit me because I thought I was a specific size (I didn't measure myself)
I'm upset that I'm subscribed to this channel to get all uploads and all I've been getting is just left handed videos. I may be left handed, but crochet right handed and I would have loved to have gotten this video a week ago when it was published. Was viewing another video and saw this one, glad I found it when I did or I never would have found this. Been looking for a video like this for years.
This will be my first garment. Very excited to try this and thank you for going over the basics with us. Thanks for the tips on how to keep the seams from looking bumby. Thank you-Linda
Oh wow! Super cute pattern! Great job!! 👏Even for a seasoned crocheter who designs, it's still fun to make other's for a change and not have to think as hard, LOL! 😅 Can always learn something new, too! 💜
How cute! I've got tons of scraps I can use for my first one 😉 Then I'll treat myself to that pretty jewel Ogo! Hmm, I may even do one in cotton. Here in southern Colorado, we need a little something extra in the evening. Even in summer. Thanks, Mikey! This looks like fun to make.
Hi. What were the measurements for your squares? I emailed Yarnspirations and they told me to use a larger hook and it still doesn't match what it says in the pattern.
Thank you very much, Mikey, for the detailed tutorial on the jacket! I am in the process of making mine right now and you have helped me a lot. I always learn so much from you. Blessings to you. ❤️
I would just make 1 2 or 3 more rows of the squares to add to length. ( I want mine long too!) There are tutorials for the hoods... looking for them right now... did you make this??
I make my granny squares a bit different than demonstrated here but I was wondering if anyone had a measurement of what the completed squares should be. I can use my current granny square stash to make one of these. PS. I LOVE this channel Mikey.
I just watched the episode of This Is Us that she's wearing a hooded crochet granny square sweater and I loved it!!! wondering if I could make that with this pattern...🤔😍
Hi. I've been going back and forth with Yarnspirations about this pattern. It says the square motif should be approximately 6 1/4". The 3 I've done using H, J and K hooks, have been 5 1/4". Am I missing something? They have this yarn on clearance near me ($2.97 each). While I know I didn't need anymore yarn, I couldn't help it. Thank you
I've made this jacket twice, once in the small to medium size and then in the large to x large. For some reason they just do not fit right when I put them on. The little one was too small but the large/xlarge should have fit me. It's too short for one thing and rides up in the back. I followed the diagrams perfectly. The only thing I did differently was to slip stitch the pieces together instead of sewing. Is that the problem or is something wrong with the pattern itself? There's no way a large to xlarge should be small on me.
Hi, could you possibly tell me how I can get/ SEE the written directions for the granny square cardigan. I have all the Squares, half square and triangles done, but I'm a bit unsure with the assembly. Thank you, Chris
So I didn't know that a crochet square is measure across and not diagonally..after I did the whole of the squares, triangles and half squares. It's now a knitting/crochet messenger bag in the making 😆

You are just an exceptional teacher. I am thinking I am close to an intermediate, and its largely because of you. Laura

Best wishes! Mikey's incredible teaching is the ONLY reason that I can now make garments. 😊

This video is very helpful. Thank you!
Hi. I just finished the sweater. Beautiful.
Hi. What were the measurements for your squares? I emailed Yarnspirations and they told me to use a larger hook and it still doesn't match what it says in the pattern.
Great demonstration as usual, Mikey I'm watching from the beautiful island 🏝 of Barbados 🏝 🇧🇧 😀 👌

Are you able to please show a pattern like this with a Hoody please..

Love it. Would like to make this into a short coat. May give it a try. Thanks!
Thank you for all your help!
Absolutely LOVE this cardigan! However, would like to make it longer and with a hood. Is there a pattern available for what I'm looking for?
I would just make 1 2 or 3 more rows of the squares to add to length. ( I want mine long too!) There are tutorials for the hoods... looking for them right now... did you make this??
Thank you so much Mikey 💜💜💜💜 Fabulous💜💜💜
I love you Mikey! 🤩
Wonderful instructions!!!
I make my granny squares a bit different than demonstrated here but I was wondering if anyone had a measurement of what the completed squares should be. I can use my current granny square stash to make one of these. PS. I LOVE this channel Mikey.
The squares are 6 inches. My yarn made up 5 inches so I added an extra row of main colour. I am now stitching it the pieces together.
Can this pattern be longer like right at hip?
I just watched the episode of This Is Us that she's wearing a hooded crochet granny square sweater and I loved it!!! wondering if I could make that with this pattern...🤔😍
hey can you tell me the size of each square, triangle and half square which you have created in this video please
How many 4" squares will I need approximately, for a hip length jacket. Medium to large.
I want to make car seat covers and steering wheel cover. Not sure if I want to do granny squares or other stitches
Thank you💗
Very nice❤
Would a join as you go method work and then just whip stitch the seams ?
Can this be done at a long sweater?
wow, gorgeous sweater! 🙂👍
How can I order a granny square coat pattern?

I have the same issue! Mine are 5 1/4".
Malheureusement ce modèle n’est plus disponible pour le téléchargement 😢
Love it how can I possible make this for a male??
Nice tutorial but I’m Confused as to how to Join the hands to the body😔
The pieces are easy to stitch together. You need 25 squares plus the 8 other pieces. It is fun to actually start putting it together
@Thecrochetcrowd after you have started your first round, can you do a standing dc with ch 2 from there an work it up?
Nice ♥️ thanks ✋
I've made this jacket twice, once in the small to medium size and then in the large to x large. For some reason they just do not fit right when I put them on. Maybe your squares are smaller than in the diagram.
Hi, could you possibly tell me how I can get/ SEE the written directions for the granny square cardigan. I have all the Squares, half square and triangles done, but I'm a bit unsure with the assembly. Thank you, Chris
It's in the video description. All patterns we show are provided in the video descriptions of our tutorials.
Ummm, yeak ok, thank you.
That for sharing this tutorial.
Hi! Amazing video but is it okay if I use 3.5 mm hook instead of 4.5? Thank you in advance😊
You need to gauge check if subbing hook.
Are there schematics for toddler/child sizes?
The link to the pattern does not work for me ugh ugh
So I didn't know that a crochet square is measure across and not diagonally..after I did the whole of the squares, triangles and half squares. It's now a knitting/crochet messenger bag in the making 😆
I wish the written pattern was still available 😥
It's gone? News to me. I will run a quick check.
Pattern link still works for me. I'm unsure what you are speaking about.
Me too
