I found the hugging odd too but I imagine it’s because they know him well. I definitely wouldn’t hug someone I’m meeting for the first time. Hugs are reserved for good friends and family.
Even here in Western countries people are superstitious about black cats. In England, where I live, shelters find black cats the hardest to rehome. My sister's cat is black, my cat is her son (he's black and white) and they're lovely cats
They had very interesting comments about how Jackson handled the situation. I like when Parvati said that we can't even fully understand human psychology, and yet Jackson is able to understand cats so well!
To be fair, humans do seem to be a lot more complicated socially/psychologically than cats. So, that's not exactly surprising... Cats are pretty much hunters. Wake, hunt, eat, groom, sleep, protect territory, etc.
Showing them Jackson Galaxy was such a good idea - this man has so much kindness in him, and everything he does for cats is fantastic. I would love to see the snake farm now! :D
This was a great video. It's sad to see that some people still discriminate against cats of any color, when all they want is a good life, just like anyone else. In fact, in many cultures, black cats are a sign of *good* luck. Jackson Galaxy spent *years* learning to understand cats and their needs, so that he can help them and their owners. Sometimes it takes reeducation on the part of the owners to help the cats adjust and not feel threatened all the time. I'm glad you chose this JG video, because I watched it some time ago and remember the case.
Agree. I recently read an article in England, and even here, shelters say they find it very hard to rehome black cats. My sister's cat is black and she's a beautiful animal. She also gave birth to my cat and imo that was really good luck because I can't imagine life without him
@@carolinesconcertvids860 I read an article that actually said giving them friendly names really helps. A lot of times black cats would be named things like "Spooky" or "Midnight" at the shelters. Apparently, giving them happy sounding names increased their adoptions! Black cats need better marketing!
This was so interesting. They all became very philosophical about how to treat animals, which is a message that needs to spread. I like this episode a lot!
I have seen some on youtube in India that tried to protect the house from Cobras. Probably in urban areas with no rats or mice they are of little use though other than pets to love.
I love all series with these people, they are all so sweet. Please tell Parvati she is so beautiful and I love all her outfits. Also Muharam looks like a movie star imo, he's handsome!
This was cool but you have to show them Steve Irwin, the crocodile hunter. He didn't hunt so much as rescue and love every living thing he met. I loved him just by watching him and I cried when he died. He was such an amazing man. They would be shocked at the things he did. With love, always.
I would also just love to see more of the nature and mountains in general. Really everything natural or cultural welcome and I am eager to see some beautiful places. i know the mountains are very beautiful! Snake farm sounds great and I would wonder what the story for that could be
This was a great idea, and a great show, Adnan. And I loved Muharam's takeaway from the video, that he will educate his peers to treat animals with love and care. Great! 💙😊👍
I love how philosophical every video gets. There is always a lesson to be learned and I like what I can learn with them. Kudos to you, that you let speak a lot of different people, man and woman, that broadens the perspective, but try to be more objective yourself while talking to them, because everyone has a different perspective. love your videos!
Ohh, this was a good one. Now, you have to show them The Dog Whisperer (Cesar Milan) and The Lion Whisperer (Kevin Richardson). I'm curious about that snake farm though. 🤔🤔
Yes, I second that. In a case of who came first, the chicken or the egg, Cesar Millan, is the OG. And this guy, Jackson, came after that. At least in terms of being on TV. Gave you a like.
Those are good ideas but I think for dogs someone like Victoria Stilwell would fit better with the channel’s theme of kindness and understanding (at least towards the animals)
@@paranoiacomplex9680 Wait a minute! Are you saying Kevin Richardson and Cesar Milan are not caring or understanding towards animals? Or are you just trying to plug Victoria because you're both from the UK or something? Your comment made no sense.
Cats are everything for me, by far the most beloved animal in my life. My cat Sophia used to be very aggressive as well, but watching some videos, included Jackson's channel, I could calm her up and she became a very active and happy cat. She loves playing hunt and rub my hair with her face. Cats are sacred for Bastet and everyone who has this animal in your home is blessed by Bastet as well.

I wouldn't say hugging & kisses are always done here when meeting new people. They may've been communicating over the phone, and he's well known to them already.
I am from slavic country, but from what I understand it's mostly done by city people or big city people. Educated ones or with liberal views. Obviously they are in a rich area (the rent there, in California is one of the highest in USA?) so they are gonna comfort to this kind of "cozy" thing you do as a form of politeness. Pretty sure it has to do with social classes and how different social classes have their own forms of conduct. Culture is very complex topic. There is a whole urban culture in the USA which fights with the rural culture existing in USA. The opposing forces which conflict with each other, a dialectic. That is where this "hugging and kisses" come from, which might be unknown to people from rural USA. It's part of the USA culture nonetheless. But come on, man. You guys have this culture of "fakeness". I mean smiling to strangers, small talking and asking personal questions as a form of making bonds. It's totally different in Europe and especially slavic countries, where people are "cold" and uninterested - and only open up with prolonged exposure or if you prove yourself (to be worthy) in some way. I forgot the name, but people use different names like "hot vs cold culture" or "high context vs low context culture". So I think it is a thing. Like I said, culture is very complex and also interesting.
@@Sourusophyexe I'm from Spain. in the southern part, someone you just talked to, can invite you to their home for dinner, (although I guess it's just politeness, never accepted the offer) and people kiss twice when they meet, people are very friendly and treat strangers like friends. But in the North is the opposite, people are very respectful and polite but not so friendly, you need to know them well so they open up, whereas in the south, in two minutes you know how many kids, jobs, a stranger on the supermarket line has so no In Europe is not so different, we have all ranges, although it's true in colder countries people less friendly than hotter countries.
No, you're all wrong. Not with what you're saying in general, but in regards to why it was done here. It's not because he or they is from the city, or some other reason. It's done because of the cameras, plain and simple. To boost his popularity, and sell him as a nice guy. Not saying that he's not, but TV is always (mostly) done in a certain way, to come off as positive to the viewer. And what is more positive than a hug? I rest my case.
Speaking of hugs, I hate when people on TV or in the movies, go in for a hug, but there's no skin contact, as the heads don't actually touch. If you're gonna hug like that, you might as well just go for a handshake or a fistbump, instead of a "hug-fake-out". And I'm serious, because what's the point of those fake hugs, anyway? And I 'm not saying they have to hug them at all, but if you go for a hug, make it a real one, and not that symbolic cr*p way of "hugging". Finally, I had the opportunity to mention this pet peeve of mine, but do any of you feel the same way about this, or is it just me? I'm genuinely curious.
I love your videos. It's so interesting to see people of other cultures reactions to different types of music and many unfamiliar things they have not experienced. All your tribal viewers seem very sincere. Thank you for sharing your videos. 🤗🤗🤗
I really am enjoying these. I love learning as much as possible from people whose cultures are very much different from mine. I'm especially appreciating Abdul Aziz Kind. I wish he were my grandfather.
I think the key point that Jackson Galaxy always manages to get across is that you can't fix another creature unless you speak to them on their level. He always emphasizes what would be natural for a cat to do; associating good things with the right interactions; identifying what is it that the cat is actually reacting to. Half of the owners call their cats awful, or that their cats are being spiteful or doing things on purpose because they hate their owners. Half the time, the cat is bored, they haven't had proper introduction, they are viewing their owner as a threat or prey, or there is something physically/mentally wrong with them. Most of the problems, in short, are interpreted by the owners through human filters rather than cat filters. So Jackson really just acts as a translator of sorts.
My cat is 14. He was so angry when he was younger and would bite me deeply for no reason. I learned from this program to blink slowly at him when he was stressed. It is part of their “language” and tells them that you are not a threat. They don’t understand human language but emotion, tone of voice, body language, and eye contact. You have to learn their language. It took two years of patience and blood but he now trusts me and doesn’t attack any more. People would tell me to get rid of him (or worse) but I didn’t give up. He isn’t the type to sit in my lap but he looks me in the eyes now with trust. We fully understand each other. Patience and attention to his needs won his heart!
We had this with our last cat. Charlie had a rough life before he found us. My mother would wrap her legs in bubble wrap to protect them from him when he first came in the house. In three months time he was sleeping with her & snuggling like her lil baby... They are often so abused & afraid of people, it just takes them time
@@heydeanie I have to admit the image of Charlie with bubble wrapped legs made me chuckle a bit. I’ve had Nemo (male) his whole life but after we got our 3rd cat (a female) when he was about 4, he started marking on everything. After peeing on my ex-wife’s wedding dress he got banished to the basement. He was free to go outside as much as he wanted but that basement was a steady cold temperature. Not only was that horrible for him, but he wasn’t socializing any more. I hated his situation but didn’t know what to do about it. I took him after my divorce and had my hands full. He was now 8, antisocial, and attacked for attention and frustration probably. When I said “no reason” for his biting I really meant at that particular moment it would come out of the blue. I knew the deeper problem. He’s been spoiled, indoor, warm, and re-trained for 6 years now!
@@TYoung023 they are very territorial... He didn't like a new cat being in the house (or maybe he hated ur ex-wife lol) odd though because I've never had a male through hissy fits like that over a female being introduced. But two boys? Oh that was a rumpus! Charlie was in house a year when Beaker came to live with us (they literally both came from the neighbors house lol .. the day the moved in Charlie got out if the moving van & marched over into our yard & climbed under the rose bush & said "I'm done! I'm never moving because we owe the landlord money again! You people live like teenagers! I'm going to live with the old people now!!" Lol...and be would not budge. I'd put him back over the fence, he'd climb the fence & jump in my arms. " Nope I'm yours. I live here now"...Beaker (both of them were renamed by us, they wouldn't even come to those names anymore they hated their owners so bad lol) would hang out with us but he would go back too. Then one day charlie pushed a milk ring (his favorite toys) out to him & Beakie wouldn't leave after that... It's funny how weird they are
@@heydeanie They know what’s best. Glad they found a good home. Our second cat Romeo (male obviously) was no problem. They were buddies. Romeo was the mellowest cat I’ve ever seen. You could playfully push him over and he’d just jump up for more. Lucy (3rd in line) quickly grew up and terrorized Nemo. I’ve seen Nemo stand down a snorting deer - but Lucy had his number. That’s when he got territorial, despite being fixed. BTW, a milk ring was Romeo’s favorite too. He’d talk to them. 🤣. Nemo has always been a stoic gent. Toys seem to be beneath his dignity. Lol
@@TYoung023 well I don't blame Nemo then .. he should've just trounced her a good one & she would've backed off. The two before (Hazel & Mickey) had a love hate relationship. He loved her & she hated him lol... He worshiped the "big kitty" & she whupped his butt... Til one day he did it back & then they were golden. But I suspect the fights were all for show because when we'd leave & come back they'd be snuggled. Then they'd wake up see we were home & start fighting again lol
Would love to see that snake farm the fellow talked about. Reptiles are cool. :) And, yeah, Jackson Galaxy is pretty awesome. The older gentleman and the gentleman with the dark beard always leave such insightful comments. "I will believe it once I see it with my own eyes." Amen, brother. Amen. And good on you for showing them Jackson Galaxy. That man is truly a kind and compassionate soul that goes out of his way to help cats in need.
I loved this. Jackaon Galaxy is a great guy, He really understands cats so well. How about you show them our famous animal hero known as the supervet (Professor Noel Fitzpatrick) He is a pioneering veterinary surgeon from Ireland and the absolute best there is. He saves animals that others can't. For example there was a cat called oscar who had lost both his back legs in an accident. Noel fitted two bionic legs on the cat and now he can walk just like a normal cat. It's a bit like when humans have prosthetic legs, but with the kind that Noel gives the animals, these ones are surgically attached, so they never have to take them off. They're always permanently "on" They're implanted into the skin and bones, so become a part of the body almost. Many animals would have had to have been put to sleep without Noel but now they're happy and live life just like any other animal. He is trying also to help humans, by trying to connect with human drs, so that we, if we lose limbs can have a fitted leg, a bionic one, rather than the stupid strap on ones which cause so much pain and discomfort and frustration. He has a charity called the humanimal trust (a blend of the words human and animal) Which is his charity to encourage human drs to not only connect with vets like himself for the purpose of helping humans with their lost limbs, but also so humans can benefit from the advanced knowledge vets have that can help humans in other ways and also he advocates so that animals are not experimented on unnecessarily. He is an incredible gentleman and has such a wonderful heart. (He is the gentleman in my profile picture with me) The photo is from when he visited my hometown on his tour (Yes. he oddly did a tour called welcome to my world) Where he was discussing not only how he became a vet, but about how animals change our lives and the amazing bonds we have with them and he also talked about how he wants human drs and vets to connect with each other for the benefit of all.
I think its interesting that even after saying how cats can be possessed and black cats are bad luck, she instantly could recognize the cat was stressed.
I have 2 cats. I agree with Parvati, they aren't much use haha! They're nice cats though. My son is 2 years old and he grabs their ears and tails sometimes because he doesn't understand how to treat them yet. The cats just endure it and don't try to hit him because they understand he's just little. Cats can be pretty smart. I used to watch this show and learned a lot about cat behaviour and how to communicate with them better. Jackson Galaxy seems like a good dude.
Children should be taught at a very early age not to pull tails and ears otherwise they don't have empathy for animals, it can get worse. It's not very nice for the cat and also their tails can be easily broken. My two sons were very gentle to our animals.
@Elisabetta Not really clear who you're responding to. To me, who said cats are smarter than people think and that I enjoyed learning how to communicate better with them? Or the other person who said children should be educated on how to treat them properly? Either way, cats don't have a "use". They are not objects. They're living beings we consider a part of our family. You might want to gather a little more information than you can get from a youtube comment before you start throwing judgements around and calling other people's words ignorant. Or you might appear.... well y'know... ignorant.
Go to the snake farm! That would be great to see. You have such lovely people here. It truly is inspiring to see their reactions. They're so positive. I wish everyone could view the things you show them in the same light.
One of my past elementary students told me that she wanted to become a veterinarian and return to Pakistan to work. She told me that there were few vets in her former homeland. That brought me to tears. All my students knew that I was a animal lover from the get go.
.... I want to see the snake farm. Can we see the snake farm? Or visit their home villages? I'm glad I watched the Mr Rogers video as soon as I saw it, even though I'm subscribed this didn't appear in my feed and someone mentioned in the video that they had seen a video of a man taming cats so i looked it up right away ☺
Actually, in the future, if I could ask. I would like maybe not so much a reaction video and more one that goes into all of their/yours customs and such. Hugging eachother is a common greeting here in the West, but how do you greet someone in Pakistan? The only thing I know is that when you're invited to their homes and offered tea, not drinking that tea is a very big show of disrespect.
Ok so I might answer it for you if it's ok. We can hug but not opposite genders. We also can hug an opposite gender person but they must be very close relatives. It also depends on the environment people are raised up. I don't think so about the second part. I have seen people refusing to take tea and that's very normal and the host doesn't consider it rude either.
I loved this one. I think everyone, no matter where we are born, has an inherent respect for cats, in the sense that they know to never anger a cat or give them cause to do you harm, because the damage they can inflict is great, but they’re usually neutral towards us so we are neutral towards them, not necessarily afraid. By that I mean that it seems around the world, the “default” is respect, not fear, however we have great respect for those humans who can understand how to communicate with an animal that we have as a companion animal, but can also cause a lot of injury to a person if they are upset!! And we have no common language to communicate with them, which is stressful!! I like to think of Jackson Galaxy as being able to “speak cat,” meaning he understands the psychological root of how a cat is trying to communicate with us. And he’s obviously gotten a lot of scratches to get to that level of understanding! 😆
I do not respect them. They are detrimental to the environment. They kill billions of birds and small animals every year, and are responsible for the extinction of 63 species. They kill for fun. They are mean, their pee is the worst smell on the planet, and many of them scratch up and ruin things in your house.
@@spongedebfatpants1308 you’ve clearly never smelled a fox. Cats are domestic and belong inside. They kill because of irresponsible people, not because they’re bad. Humans are responsible for far more extinction than cats but I don’t see you calling for their destruction.
I can relate to Parvati's kid, my neighbour used to have a small yappy dog that would bite my legs if I tried to go past their house! I wish my dad had told them to keep it on their yard but instead I just cycled super fast until it stopped chasing me
@@TRYBALS that makes me happy... I love that they are so open hearted. Here people are so close minded at times... But the Trybal folks just watch open heartedly and immediately accept what they see, without a single unkind word... Amazing...
10:55 Abdul's observation about some signal is actually real. I'm not sure if he mentions it in this episode, but Jackson has pointed out before how cats do have a gesture they do, the 'slow blink', which is a way they show trust to each other, or to him. He also does it to gain their trust. I suppose it comes from the cat relaxing its defenses -- if it blinks so slowly, it's eyes are closed longer, indicating it does not feel threatened. Sometimes Jackson will do it over and over, until finally the cat reciprocates. It's very interesting!
The most interesting thing about these videos is simply to see their reactions to little everyday things; the presence of a cat in a house, men & woman with no relation sharing hugs, etc. It's been a great way to learn about these peoples' culture, and also, just to learn about and get to know some individuals from that culture.
None of them have any questions about his beard or appearance or name? Did he pick that name or did his parents name him jackspn Galaxy and he had no choice but to turn into his destiny?
There was a segment of the show called My Cat From Heaven that showed the good things some cats have done; I still remember one from years ago when a family's cat kept meowing one night, which was completely out of character for it, & when the couple got up to investigate, the cat led them to the nursery - where they found their baby wrapped too tightly in its blanket! If it hadn't been for the cat, the baby would've died.
Are you going to show them the "Dog Whisperer?" Or how about, "Pitbull and Parolees?" They might enjoy seeing former felons turn their lives around, because of the love of the dogs they rescue.
One thing you should tell these people is that they're hugging him because he's a celebrity helping them with their cat. It's not normal to hug a stranger. Usually meeting a stranger just includes a handshake. Hugs are for family and friends and maybe a celebrity.
For the person who makes the captions: please consider leaving each caption up for 1 or 2 seconds after the person has finished speaking their phrase, rather than removing it exactly at the moment the person finishes speaking. This way, it will be easier for people to be able to read them in time, and not feel nervous or uneasy, and need to rewind the video frequently.
In my experience, each cat has its own unique personality. While you can get a cat to warm up to you, you will not change its natural personality. Some cats prefer to be alone most of the time, while others will constantly follow you. I find the red/orange cats tend to be more social and outgoing and would probably best be appreciated by dog people.
Here we have the belief that if a black cat crosses your field of vision you will get bad luck. Im not supertitious tho, I actually owned some black cats, they are beautiful. Its interesting different cultures share the same superstitions.
You have to spit over your shoulder if you see a black cat cross the road! Sadly black cats get adopted less due to these superstitions. I really wanted a black cat because of that reason when I was adopting a second cat but "luckily" there were none available, so I ended up with a funny looking smoky grey adult ex-feral instead. She looks like a mini bear.
I personally believe that black cats are good luck to good people, and there's something wrong with the person if the black cat brings them bad luck~ But that's just me being salty lol

That would be cool! There used to be a reptile farm near Knott's Berry Farm which had a snake room.

It'd be great to see the snake farm! I enjoy watching the reactions of the Trybals, but also would be interested to see more of their world too.
I love this channel! There was Michael Jackson, Bob Ross and now Jackson Galaxy! You guys are amazing at figuring out what I want to see!
Thank you
Ohh, this was a good one. Now, you have to show them The Dog Whisperer (Cesar Milan) and The Lion Whisperer (Kevin Richardson). I'm curious about that snake farm though. 🤔🤔
Very good recommendation 👍
Yes, I second that. In a case of who came first, the chicken or the egg, Cesar Millan, is the OG. And this guy, Jackson, came after that. At least in terms of being on TV. Gave you a like.

Those are good ideas but I think for dogs someone like Victoria Stilwell would fit better with the channel’s theme of kindness and understanding (at least towards the animals)

This UA-cam channel is so interesting!
I wonder if @JacksonGalaxy has seen this video.
Just a comment so this channel gets more exposure as it should
I wouldn't say hugging & kisses are always done here when meeting new people.
@@Sourusophyexe
I'm from California, and you sound like you got you view of America from some cheesy 1980s movie.
@@Sourusophyexe I'm from Spain.
in the southern part, someone you just talked to, can invite you to their home for dinner, (although I guess it's just politeness, never accepted the offer)
and people kiss twice when they meet, people are very friendly and treat strangers like friends.
But in the North is the opposite, people are very respectful and polite but not so friendly, you need to know them well so they open up, whereas in the south, in two minutes you know how many kids, jobs, a stranger on the supermarket line has
so no In Europe is not so different, we have all ranges, although it's true in colder countries people less friendly than hotter countries.

They're always permanently "on"
They're implanted into the skin and bones, so become a part of the body almost.
Looking forward to seeing that snake farm!
@@janetteveronica402 Obviously...
Or you might appear.... well y'know... ignorant.

Awesome video, love the whole crew!
No and it surprised me more than it did you lol

Great to see compassion is universal!
I fucking love this show, thanks for making this
None of them have any questions about his beard or appearance or name?
Did he pick that name or did his parents name him jackspn Galaxy and he had no choice but to turn into his destiny?
This was made a month before the Casper video... Was that providence?!? :-)
Great video!
The cat had been placed on anti-depression medication. I don't think any of the villagers understood that.
I told them 😊
How would these good people react to a David Attenborough program?
Are you going to show them the "Dog Whisperer?" Or how about, "Pitbull and Parolees?" They might enjoy seeing former felons turn their lives around, because of the love of the dogs they rescue.
And, the horse whisperer
My mom is from Iran and has always been somewhat wary of cats, I wonder if there's a cultural superstition there about them too.
Please let them react to Kevin Richardson , The Lion Whisperer!!!👌❤
One thing you should tell these people is that they're hugging him because he's a celebrity helping them with their cat. It's not normal to hug a stranger. Usually meeting a stranger just includes a handshake. Hugs are for family and friends and maybe a celebrity.
I highly recommend The Dog Whisperer, Caesar Milan.
I like how he commented on the pillows 😊
In my experience, each cat has its own unique personality. While you can get a cat to warm up to you, you will not change its natural personality. Some cats prefer to be alone most of the time, while others will constantly follow you. I find the red/orange cats tend to be more social and outgoing and would probably best be appreciated by dog people.
So funny when Parvati said their cat is "no use" I looked at my lazy tomcat. Although it is said that mice and rats will smell a cat and stay away
Lol
I would love for then to react to Its Me Or The Dog. Love that show (and this one)
