can confirm. I lost to him once in singles and once in doubles...and that was in the beginner tier. when I found out that wasn't even his final form, that broke me a bit.
*SPOILER TERRITORY* The first time i battled Leon in the championship I was NERVOUS. Not like, *Oh shoot Im gonna lose* more like *Im battling the dude everyone has been preaching to high HEAVEN in this game this is probably gonna be rough* The nervous anticapation of battling him was built up from the VERY BEGINNING OF THE GAME. He was made out to be someone who NOBODY could beat. And here you are, fighting him. You knew you would and you know your going to beat him, but your still nervous. The build up and excitement in this game is INSANE. I really can't find anything to complain about. I get that Leon is a bit one note at first glance. He gets lost alot, he is undefeated, and his partner is a charizard, which is practically a death sentence in the pokemon community at this point. But if you think about it, he's a lot more fleshed out that you think. For one, he is the only champion so far to not let you do ANYTHING. Problem at Hammerlocke stadium? He's got it! Random dynamax pokemon appeared? Dont worry, Leon's here! Rose has gone slightly insane? Relax, Leon will sort it out. The only time you and Hop, which at most are like, 13 (We are WAY to tall to be 10) , do ANYTHING is when Leon is held up on top of a tower or is dealing with an evil purple space dragon. LITERALLY. THATS IT. Not to mention, he is more important to the story than any of the other previous champions. You see hims SO MUCH in this game. I mean, he is the first person to give you your starter instead of the professor (Your OG Kalos starters were still sent by Sycamore) and he endorses you. He teaches you how to catch Pokemon, (If you dont skip the cutscene) and he is consistantly brought up throughout the game. He is easily the most hyped up champion yet, which makes complete sense considering pokemon battles are like FIFA in this region. Overall, he's defiantly my favorite champion so far, and SwSh are my fav games so far. Im sorry that was kind of a rant.

Those guys took out my Coaossal, Hatterene, Sandaconda, and my Corviknight! If I hadn't taught my Inteleon Ice beam or my Coalossal stealth rock, I would have lost hands down. Thank god that my Toxitricity took out his Charizard too!
Ok, this artwork of Leon is kinda terrifying. He looks about ready to kick the ass of your team of 6, kick your ass, then mow down 10 more sitting in your boxes.
And yet he can barely take down one of your team if you're even half-competent and five levels ahead. When you can be much further ahead if you use the wild area a lot.
I remember when the Sword and Shield announcement dropped and you only got to see like 5 seconds of leon without his full champion's outfit and the 'oh no he's hot' memes started cropping up all over. And then everyone got to see his full outfit and it was just 'honey, none of that matches'. And now that he's ditched it for the walk-straight-out-of-Hamilton outfit we've come full circle.

I think this music grants luck, I was listening to this while playing my version of shield, just doing online max raid battles to see if i could get any Pokemon not found in shield, I enter into a raid with a charmeleon because nothing else on the list looked worth catching, and this charmeleon was shiny, I'm ridiculously excited because this is my first shiny! I'm choosing to believe it is the luck of the epic music here with Leons picture in the background, because as we have been told many times, leon has a charizard and I just found a chameleon. I've heard that max raid battles have ridiculous shiny odds. nothing on the level of PLA, admittedly, but it was the highest in any game at the time. that being said, that's still impressive luck. nice job!

You know why this game is great ? Because : - You just go through the arenas and do your job. You don't save the world during this time. - We totally understand what is the job of the league master : saving the region/world. Its not the job of a 10 years old kid that just discovered the pokemon ;) so seeing Leon doing everything until you became worthy to help him getting the right to fight him on an equal foot first. It make the universe a lots more coherent. That only point make it a more coherent story than every other pokemon. - You fight Leon after he loses against Ethernatus, not before. Why it is interesting ? because it means the league master change is right and represent a reality : you became worthy of it and could do what Leon couldn't. So you deserved to become the Master, but you still had to fight him (and the lvl of his team will surprise you the first time). And when you are the Master now you save the world : mainly fy fighting the twins without any intervention of Leon at all. - Leon is a hero, he is until you became a better one. You don't need to be the best hero since the beginning, there is other people that can do it, Leon can do it, thats an improvment. Its all about character development : Leon was a hero but finally lose and accepted it quite well BECAUSE you deserve to be the master instead of him because you could do what he tried and couldn't do. Hop wanted to be master but became the assistant of Sophia the new professor that also deserved to be professor. Marnie and Bead finally became champions. Every char has a story independant of the main story. And no in a game you don't need to see everything I think its better for the immersion to have events that happen outside your story, it make you feel like many person are playing in the game and are in different locations. Yes I love this game.

In all honesty, Leon's team is impressive, something which can't be said about the woman who supposedly “can't hold back in battle” (which means that she's _truly_ that weak).
People are complaining that Game Freak has lost its way and so they are abandoning the fandom. But ya know what? *F@$K THAT!* I'm along for the ride, enjoying all this!
