For some reason, Cynthia is the easiest for me to beat. I had a harder time with Steven.
Took me only one time... but about 10 Full Restores and my Garchomp back then was lucky enough to survive his "female counterpart" (yeah... I caught a Gabite and trained him hard just for that)

Cynthia feels like an educated, sophisticated, and seasoned champion. She feels like the type of Champion who truly has crushed hundreds, or even thousands of skilled trainers on their way to the top, but she also seems refined enough to give you a warm smile and invite you to celebrate your victory over her with some tea and talks about how you managed to build such a powerful team, right before going to the Unova for a vacation
Yeah and her only match other than the player would have been Ghetsis who's team is almost a near identical concept match except with Gen 5 pokemon. Yes if both are equal level to each other ( level 75 around there for the teams) it would be a close match.
Only if Nintendo would use this in the Platinum remake...
See, the thing is, they didn’t even update the MIDI file for SUN/MOON. That’s how strong she is: her song doesn’t even need another version in the games!
Oh, and speaking of Sun/Moon…remember Garchomp? It’s BACK. And it can MEGA EVOLVE.
Mega evolved chomp is worse than normal chomp tho. Slap a Life Orb on normal chomp and boom, better mon.
Mega Lucario is a bigger threat than Mega Garchomp. Like the other reply, LOrb or Scarf Garchomp and let Lucario Mega Evolve.

My Torterra was lvl 75 and rest of my team was around 60s I still got stomped lol. That Garchomp HURTS.
Indeed. All of my Pokemon were above LV.70, yet we couldn't make it because of that Garchomp and Milotic.

bruh i had to level my starter to 74 and spam the x items and hyper pots to beat cynthia, it was hell
Well, my problem was with that blasted milotic of hers. (That mofo refused to FUCKING die)
You all have some of the WORST planning if you can't take out a pokemon with a 4 times weakness when you're ten levels above it. I mean, what ARE you using? A team of Lv. 60 Magikarps? You should be two shotting it at level 60 without a super effective move. But Lv. 75? That's a Red-esque leveled pokemon. You shouldn't be struggling with it, given that you have such powerful pokemon. Even in the rematch, you can body her team with an Ice move to take out her Garchomp.

Dude, you had it easy. I replayed old diamond copy and, Garchomp scales to lvl 66. On top of that Cynthia had two other Pokémon that knew earthquake. Honestly it’s a wonder how I managed to beat her at early-mid 50s

Let's face it:
Not counting Red, no matter how seasoned of a trainer we are, Cynthia's always been our toughest challenge. We plough through the Elite Four of every region and then destroy their champion. Sinnoh's the lone exception. We crush the Elite Four and then get crushed. Who agrees?
Elliot Beat Cynthia is easy, what’s his face from emerald with his Ludacolo was horrible
I destroyed Cynthia but I was stalled by the Bronzor before and I missed all my fire Blast TT. I chose the plant strater.
Lance was the hardest one I've challenged so far, with those bullshit dragonites -_-. Cynthia wasn't just tough to beat though. Her battle was satisfying in a way. To overcome such a tough opponent even if just barely, shows how far you've come.
I still have war flashbacks whenever I hear her theme. But DAMN, it was SO GREAT.
I played plat and then white to completion. After Cynthia, Alder was a pushover.

And not only the strongest non-lengendary from that Generation is at Max IV, but in old copies from D/P, it can go to level 66

And something that can tank every fucking hit, a flinch flying thingy, the best mixed attacker in the game, and a flower with indecent special attack. And 4 Full Restores.

This is fucking Sick. Cynthia is by far the best champion, and Garchomp is my favorite Dragon. This really captures how actually hard this fight was. I remember my first time playing Diamond and she kicked my ass three of four times before I finally beat her.
When i first fought her this is all i remember.

Spirit tomb was annoying to deal with a first since it could regen and she was trying to wall us with it. But it took me like 6 tries and that was cause garchomp had missed the dragon rush.

Lol. I don't understand well why everyone suffers to defeat Cynthia, I'm still playing Platinum, but I played White, and dude, the only Pokémon that I had and could defeat Cynthia was almost unfair to use, because it was Kyurem. Cynthia is hard af to defeat in Pokémon White

1: Platinum Cynthia is arguably easier (not by much mind you) than diamond/pearl's cynthia since, while togekiss is harder to deal with than Gastrodon, her pokemon are also dropped a few levels compared to diamond.
2: You know her Milotic, Lucario, Garchomp, and Spiritomb? yeah, all three of those are in her D/P/PT battle. and those three are cynthia's most dangerous there. though they are somewhat lower leveled there, she's also andatory to fight for story progression because champion and not a bonus fight. B2W2's cynthia is bit more accurate to her Platinum appearence (outside of the still upscaled level), except for glaceon

Luxray: Counters Togekiss and Milotic
Staraptor: Counters Lucario with Close Combat
Gardevoir: Can counter Milotic because of Magical Leaf, but this is a critical-situation strategy
Garchomp: Counters..... well...... Garchomp
Infernape: Also counters Lucario
And there is also her Spiritomb, that I'll use my whole team to destroy. So, I don't think I'll suffer that much

@@amithist4455 That’s why I have yet to use Togekiss in Platinum. I never hatched a Togepi with Serene Grace. The biggest insult was getting a Calm nature once; with Hustle. 🤬
If she has a mega garchomp in the remakes, this should start playing when it evolves.
Mega-Garchomp is a really bad Pokemon though, both design wise and competitive-wise.
Mega-Lucario with Adaptability is WAY scarier.

Though I wouldnt throw out her picking up all the BS tools from around the world, z moves from Alola, Gigantomax from galar, all to make her team the most unbeatable

I know dragon rush or dragon pulse would be a better move but... the name draco murderer fits too perfectly

when you think about it, cynthias team has some amazing type coverage. (im going off her team from white) majority of her pokemon have little to no weaknesses (talking about her spiritomb and elektross with LEVITATE???), i mean you can even put her team into a chart, the type coverage is actually incredible considering she's not some competitive nerd sitting in their moms basement playing pokemon.

Cynthia is the only champion I dread going back to fight in this series. She has the most type coverage of any champion, for definite. It seems like she literally has a counter for everything in the game.

You were unlucky. In Platinum, her Garchomp is at Level 62. In Diamond/Pearl, it scales to Level 66

I had 2 lv 100s and she crushed them like they were nothing
When It came to Diamond and Pearl I grinded Victory road till all possible wild pokemon were gone. Then it finally came to her end. A few weeks later I find out platinum is coming out. I was in my fetal position once again, But in the end it was a 1v1 her garchomp against my gallade both me with 6hp and her just outside of the red I was out of full restores and has 2pp left on my ice punch. It was a task of who was faster... have a guess how it went.

There actually is the theme in Black and White, but it originated from Diamond and Pearl.
Cynthia is in Undella Town in Pokémon Black and White, but you can only access Undella after completing the game
The term [champion] was invented for Cynthia, and after that all trainers inspired to be one like her
this is why i had a team of i think 3 garchomps, not only is garchomp a badass pokemon in general but its a JETSHARK! ITS LIKE IF SOMEONE STRAPPED JET ENGINES TO A SHARK!
I've heard so many really good attempts by talented musicians to do this theme justice, but most miss the mark, even if by a little - like something being slightly off. But this... this absolutely fuckin nails it. Respect.

I remember just feeling an instinctive fear to knowing just how strong she is.... I was defeated at least three times in BW before I beat her. But in Platinum? Over 50 tries and a living hell even with level 100 infernape

If you use your starter in lvl 100 you can solo the elite four
Funnily enough, my brother beat the entire Elite 4 with his lvl 72 Infernape, on hindsight after playing some competitive, he had a very good build accidentally, but had very bad IVs, and he also did have a Life Orb, which helped TONS

So first time i played platinum, i cheated on the elite four and all my pokemon were around lv 80. Cynthia still almost killed me
ive never played the game but it seems like if i show this to a pokemon diamond and pearl player they will get massive vietnam war flashbacks and ptsd flashbacks.
