the stealing of merc stacks and putting them all on your island to deny them for the enemy is actually a huge brain move I hadn't thought of, thank you very helpful.
Thanks for the explanation! I got sucked into antigonats wars before I released myself, which meant that after you become free, you still need to get a 10 war score as Athens against super powers like Macedon, Thrace and Egypt 😅.
you can white peace without 10 war score by going switching to the offer things from you in the peace deal. It's not counted as demanding something from them, but you still need them to want to accept the deal.
Excellent video and it looks like Imperator is still having a bit of traction. After all the videos from bigger content creators I was looking for something just like this: Long-form content from somebody who knows what they're doing. I'd like to see more - maybe upload the livestream as a video to UA-cam?
Well you made that look easy! No seriously, great job and nicely paced with some well placed explanations. It doesn't seem that you had any internal conflicts, please let me know if I'm wrong. What's the one thing you would change to make the game more challenging for you?
Wonders and inventions mostly. I talk about the wonder strategy. You should have at least 4 gold-topped tower wonders 100 years in. Having a high primary culture happiness improves loyalty. Having many mercenaries hired at all times does as well. Mercs are 100% loyal and they make the powerbase of everyone else in the country smaller. Oh yeah, this is the base game. It's much harder in Invictus.
You can, it's called Hellenic League in this era. Athens and Sparta get their own unique historical formables instead - the Delian League and Peloponnesian League respectively. You can also unite Greece in the form of Hellenistic Empire (called Argead Empire if you do it as a descendant of Alexander), though that option is for larger monarchies like Macedon and the Diadochi.
@@Priyo866 maybe if one keeps Athens, conquer the (known) world then transfer the save to the chronologically next game, then Greece can be formed, I suppose.
@@emib6599 You form either the Hellenic League or Hellenic Empire. Greece as a uniform political entity does not make sense in this time period, classical states were built around people, places, and philosophical concepts, NOT nationalities, ethnicities or any of that.

Reply here if you want to see a livestream during the Ides of March and which nation you'd like to see:
+Rome
+Carthage
+Egypt
+Sweden
Carthage seems straightfoward, but you can play it in alot of ways. Carthage it is!
+Sweden pls
I would like to see you play as Thebes. I know its not on the list but I think it would be a great challenge.
garamantia? 🙏
Never seen a Sweden playthrough!

20:00 Sounds like my kind of playthrough lol. I've always loved vassal swarms
Spreading Democracy way back in 450 BCE 😆
Thanks, I was looking for some inspiration for the Ides of March!
You should so more of these... Easy to follow.
I love this game
Great video man, really useful for the influx of newer players like myself - any plans to make more?
I did a livestream, but nobody watched it at the time or afterwards. Maybe I'll make a new pre-recorded about Sweden.
Where is this livestream? I can't see it on UA-cam.@@PerihelionAlliance
This was great! Please more like this
I:R is an amazing game and honestly? them dropping support early might not have been so bad in hindsight.
Too few people were playing it to justify the ROI compared to games like HOI4. But I agree, this is a very good game.
I agree. Very good game and doesn't suffer from the bloat that the other titles do.
man you gotta make more of this come on. you were a hit
Very nice video

Do you play Imperator with the Invictus mod or just vanilla?
Given your expertise I would love to see a more tall and roleplay focus play through.
subbed! nice start
I can only choose the Matter of Thrace mission tree
It may need the Magna Graecia DLC.
Damn your voice is soothing
Great video. Nice to see you back after a few years now. What made you decide to return? :)
How do you manage province loyalty and governors loyalty, expecially expanding so fast?

You've been blessed by UA-cam algorithm gods. Strike iron while it's hot- make some videos, Imperator is quite popular right now.
It looks like you had no civil wars or disloyal generals! Some tips on how to manage your government would be useful for me.
Bribes, wonders, inventions, high primary culture happiness, employing mercenaries (because this lowers the powerbase of everyone).
How did you manage to avoid any civil wars? I have always a few in each run... :(
What's your priority for deity bonuses?
Money, pop happiness...
How do you deal with disloyal provinces? Is it culture integration/assimilation?
please upload more
How long did this video take to edit?
Do you know how to fix stuttering while moving/scrolling on the map?
I have that when my game is stuck on 60 fps if I restart PC and start the game again it will be stuck on 100 fps but the stuttering is fixed.
EU4 player here. Can you form Greece?
Too early for Greece/Italy. You can form things like the "Delian League".
You can, it's called Hellenic League in this era.
Athens and Sparta get their own unique historical formables instead - the Delian League and Peloponnesian League respectively.

By formable nations logic, you should be able to form the "Macedonian Empire" with greek cultures

Are you using Invictus?
Not in this video. WC is much harder in Invictus.
Restarted soo many times and you are not on very hard dif even omg man get better at the game it takes 1 day of research
