Young man you have no idea the fire behind your words. The chosen is my Super Bowl and you are my halftime entertainment. I am inspired and fueled by your teaching. Most times I feel isolated and alone as if in exile awaiting for Jesus’ return. I watch and love the chosen but even more I love that people are being healed spiritually and receiving eternal salvation through Jesus. May God continue to bless your ministry abundantly that his truth will flow through more people.

During last Sunday's episode ,I thought it was neat that Gaius sort of cocked his head sideways and looked just like Matthew does when he's lost in thought trying to understand what he's seeing.

It is a breadth of fresh air for all of us that is setting us free from our own ignorance of the Bible. Personally, I have learned and felt connected much more when watching The Chosen including your explanations more than what I learn and felt when attending Church service. Keep it up and wish you can make your Israel visit annually so some of us can join you with your compelling guidance.

WOW so much research done to produce the Chosen - thank you Brandon for lifting up the details that connect us with the culture and what all were experiencing. The tension between Jews and Gentiles was so thick. "stubborn and rebellious" The crowd had Romans, Jews and Zealots mostly stiff necked and resistant. Gaius, Rome. Zealots, Jews, Gentiles - some ready to hear the truth, some not. Tamar and Mary taking the time to get to know each other --- sharing our stories, our testimonies gives "None of us is who we used to be" Thanks to Jesus

I just found this discussion... Awesome discussion. I plan on going back to take a look at others. And just a comment about the tension demonstrated between Mary and Tamar. The parable of the prodigal son is usually focused on one wayward son. But the parable is about a father and his TWO sons. Remember there is a son who stays and is resentful of his father welcoming back his brother who left.

🤔. Brandon, you always make me think! I recognized that all sorts of people were present for Jesus’ teaching in E:6, but had not recognized that John’s followers might be connected to the Essenes. Also, even after over 5 decades with the Lord, I completely missed the fact that Jesus COULD NOT have come as the Conquering King Messiah that the Jews expected, because He needed to have a voice with the Gentiles (Romans), as well as the Jews (all 4 philosophies) in order to call “all people to Himself.” D’oh! Thank you for opening that window for me!

Hi Brandon, I absolutely love the insights you bring to the Chosen and in turn my understanding of my Scripture too.
On thing I was curious about was that you said that the new religious leader that we've recently met was a Saducee. Up until you said this I thought he is was a Pharisee like others we've met previously. Can you explain how you were able to know this? I'd imagine it has something to do with the clothes he's wearing but I wouldn't know what to look for. Thanks in advance for any help with this.
You're insight about the fact that all four groups of philosophies of Jews at that time plus Romans being present there was completely fascinating. I really have learned so much from you and other channels that react to The Chosen.

THIS is for me, the most confusing yet interesting part of Biblical/Christian history. Br Brandon, you delineate and then tie these groups together so well. When did Jews encompassing Sadducees, Pharisees, Esenes, and Zealots all begin to mold together with Gentiles and stand as Christians, all of them enduring the same fate during the persecution?
We were finally introduced to Pontius Pilate. Nothing against the actor who is in his 30's, but he looks like he doesn't shave yet. He would not have been my choice, but nobody asked me. Thank you again Brother Brandon for this especially illuminating lesson! Blessings all!

Yes, even now people don’t know what laws of Gods to follow besides the 10 commandments. But knowing that Jesus was Jewish and did follow and participate in Gods Holy days like Passover, Hanukkah, etc., So did his followers. I believe we were supposed to do the same. It was Constantine who initiated Christmas around 325 a.d. But here is where I feel we were still supposed to celebrate Gods Holy days, not man made Hollidays that are pagan. I never read anything with Jesus stating: from here on in I want you to make up new holidays celebrating me. So I was raised Catholic but I follow the Hebrew holy days that I believe we were supposed to… But, That’s my opinion……..

This episode clarified this (valid) question for me, there was even a hint of it when Andrew was visiting John the Baptist: since Isaiah says the Messiah will free the captives, he assumes he (John) will be among the first to be brought out once Jesus announces that He is the Messiah - remember, the general idea at the time was that Messiah would be a military ruler. Since Jesus wasn't doing what John had expected Him to do (see Matt 3 and Luke 3 where John announced the Messiah bringing judgment), he began to wonder where he'd been wrong
