HI guys thanks to anyone watching my videos sorry to say I don't think I will be making any more due to my exam timetable being so crammed this week I don't have enough time to make videos and need to focus my revision. Anyone who just did paper one it was ridiculously hard I thought personally, if you guys are interested what sort of level I am at I was getting 70% in specimen papers for that exam but I'm pretty sure I easily went down to 50-60% in that paper. Sorry to let anyone down who wanted Unit 4 and 6 but I'm not strong on that stuff as it is and I've got to put my exams first- pray for low grade boundaries 💙
Yea that paper was tough. Didn't learn the SD equation, so that threw me off quite a bit. I check after the exam, you weren't supposed to learn it, so they might take that part off the paper when OCR realised their mistake.
Thank you so much, this was so so helpful as practical questions are the main area I just can't get the hang of! It made it much clearer that there is always a structure and key points that the examiners look for :)
Hi i couldn't see your comment on the photosynthesis vid but I will reply here your absolutely right light strikes PSII first, the electrons are accepted at the end by PSI and ferradoxin accepts those electrons and passes them to NADP in the stroma. Photolysis of water produces the electrons to oxidise chlorophyll p680 in PSII. I will put that video on private for now as I dont want people learning it the wrong way round, thanks for the spot!
On OCR A as well I need an A and these practical q's keep messing me up. Did you get an A/A* last year and if so will this video be sufficient for practical skills?
Ahmed Hassan I got an A* these videos are basically what I learnt and knew, but I'm not a teacher (yet) I can't guarantee there's not more as I don't have a specification any more (I could have just got lucky) but there's not much help out there for these types of questions. Good luck work hard im sure you will get your A!
Leveration I didn't do all of the past papers I would if I had the time but I started revising too late. With so little to go before the exam I split the papers into topics and tried to find common marks in the mark schemes and memorised these mark points for the topic. Each to their own though, that just worked for me!
Hi Rizwan, as far as I understand the specification is the same. 2017 was the first year that the exams took place for this specification before that the specification was the same for over 8 years I believe. I am a trainee teacher but my specialist subject actually PE so maybe best do double check with your biology teacher! If you see this link OCR state that this specification was first examined in 2017 and is still used for 2021 examinations. Good luck with your studies! www.ocr.org.uk/qualifications/as-and-a-level/biology-a-h020-h420-from-2015/
You take a measurement and the number you get is the value (I finished my A level now so don't actually study biology any more but that's how I'd describe it)
no, revision guides are usually condensed notes, the textbook itself is better. the most helpful resource is past papers and their mark schemes in my opinion. anything you don't understand in a text book teach yourself on UA-cam or ask your teacher it depends what your target is I would imagine a revision guide only has enough content to get you a C/B
Could you do a video on types of exam questions and how to answer them... (exam technique) I always get confused with the key words, such as describe and explain.
can someone respond to this. ive currently finished my gcses and in my holidays so i am looking into what i will be hopefull doing in A levels. my school does ocr a biology but this video is for ocr biology. does the a part matter or is it the sAME
Nick Thorne I would just say try and learn every topic so well that you could teach it to someone else when you've finished and to mark your own question papers and answers so you get an idea of what sort of things come up in mark schemes

please can you make some more videos this year
your videos are pretty useful :)
Thank you so much, this was so so helpful as practical questions are the main area I just can't get the hang of! It made it much clearer that there is always a structure and key points that the examiners look for :)
Safety precaution for your experiment: make sure not to handle lamps/plugs with wet hands?
Great video you're a lifesaver. Thank you so much :D
Zap
Zap!
Thank you so much, I’ve always struggled with analysing data, and these sorts of questions. This has helped massively.
i know you've finished your exam but please could you make these vids on module 6 as well. it'll actually give me some hope in passing my exams lol
this video was amazing for today's paper! all your other videos have also been immensely helpful, i can't thank you enough :))

How did it go?

Last bio exam today ... this helped so much
HIII love u so much, I’m in year 12 now and I know I’m safe with your videos! Please don’t ever remove them! Will you EVER make unit 6?
Legend.

Cheers for replying so quick man. Bit of a random q but do we need to know all the cheese making processes etc it seems v irrelevant
Ahmed Hassan not too sure mate I just went by whatever the textbook had in it and it did cover it, check out the specification it should make it clear
Ryan Toal Did you do all the past papers pre-2015? Or did you prioritise going over the topics? Thanks
Leveration I didn't do all of the past papers I would if I had the time but I started revising too late. Great video, helped me a lot !!
top notch stuff
Hey just wanted to ask are your videos up to date for the new spec 2021 exam times as they’re were released in 2017+

Content starts at 2:00 aha
I KNOW U HAVE FINISHED AGES AGO BUT PLS PLS PLS PLS PLS COVER MODULE 4
I have another question though, what is the difference between the measurements and values?
You take a measurement and the number you get is the value (I finished my A level now so don't actually study biology any more but that's how I'd describe it)
Hi what do you mean by 'use more intermediate values'...
thanks
Oh I am sorry I paused to comment, you have answered it in the video :)
I'm taking a level bio and Chem next year, Is aqa or OCR easier??
Ocr
do u recommend just using the revision guide to revise?
no, revision guides are usually condensed notes, the textbook itself is better. the most helpful resource is past papers and their mark schemes in my opinion. anything you don't understand in a text book teach yourself on UA-cam or ask your teacher
it depends what your target is I would imagine a revision guide only has enough content to get you a C/B
@@ryantoal Thanks, and how long before the exam did u start revising?
@@patrickkong6922 around easter break before the exam
man this helped a lot !!!!
Could you do a video on types of exam questions and how to answer them... (exam technique)
I always get confused with the key words, such as describe and explain.
Life: animated matter
Biology: wisdom about living things
Water: h20
can someone respond to this. ive currently finished my gcses and in my holidays so i am looking into what i will be hopefull doing in A levels. my school does ocr a biology but this video is for ocr biology. does the a part matter or is it the sAME
SHIT ZOO all of my videos are the OCR A specification so this is exactly for your course
What grade did you get in the end overall?
I got an A* somehow
What did you end up getting in the end??
A* to my surprise
Ryan Toal very impressive!! Any tips??
Nick Thorne I would just say try and learn every topic so well that you could teach it to someone else when you've finished and to mark your own question papers and answers so you get an idea of what sort of things come up in mark schemes
what books did you use to revise?
Leveration Pearson OCR BIOLOGY A, but I watched UA-cam videos on the things that didn't make sense
And used cgp revision guide (I think that's what it's called) a little bit to understand things
I can't with the fact that his battery is on 1%
🕸🕷 poor baby 🚼
This is really bad, I failed biology because of this
what?
🕸🕷that happened
