Hey Harry, with these Revos, to really get those ball bearings humming, I took a page from my wife's roller skating hobby: I popped the bearings out, and soaked 'em in mineral spirits to remove the factory oil, then applied a drop of "Speed Cream" roller bearing oil. It's really thin and you'll be shocked at how much freer those ball bearings turn over typical machine oil.
Really, really helpful video here, Harry. I ordered the Jagermeister (arrived today) as well a a white kit. Plan to paint it white with red 'Mexico' lines down it as a reminder of the first Scalextric Escort I picked up as a teen back in the late 70s. I otherwise see there is a third blue and white painted livery with a co-driver. It's one of my unwritten rules to myself not to get into the 'Rally' business. As we know, there's too much other good stuff as it is. So much better with the changed tyres, the deeper guide and, significantly, the smaller pinion. I love these Revo's too :)

Nice video Harry. I found that putting more space between the front of the chassis and body, and rear of chassis and the body helps quiet these little rockets down.
Good video. No mention about the front independent axles. A great new feature for REVO. They should consider making them available for all REVO and BRM cars

Did the yellow out of the box car a 9 or 12 tooth pinion?

I’ve read that they have put the wrong pinion on these. They should have been 9t is that correct?
