Thanks, can you check whether Carrera will update their software for the fuel feature for controllers 5&6 so the app smart race can utilise accordingly
what i loike about Carrera brand is they made many toy cars with beautiful printings / design / decals. I hope 1/32 scale diecast company also make like what Carrera did. :-D
IMO, trimming the motor shaft is completely ridiculous. The stock setup has a polished metal shaft with very little contact area rubbing against nylon, which is very low friction in itself. The resistance is almost immeasurable. Replacing that with spacers made from CA glue that have more surface area rubbing against bronze bushings will create more resistance than the stock setup.
You broke my heart by turning the tires around. :( I just bought a car and I had a hard time to choose between the body livery I really really like, with "carrera" tyres OR the body livery I like with hankook tyres.... Next time I swap the tyres with you! :D
Most other “tuners” seem to want to keep the weight of the car very similar to stock, does adding what appears to be a significant amount of lead ( in the correct place ) give a definite advantage , have your fellow racers cars followed your thinking ?
Lets take a perfect car and ruin it! That's this video. Insane madman! The WHOLE POINT OF INSTALLING MAGNETS is so their brand of product can create the feeling of great Corning ability, pure speed, smooth handling, etc.. If you're going to RIP OUT THE COMPONENTS OF SOMEBODY ELSE'S BUSINESS, then just man up about it and go away from carrera product and invent your own cars and business and STOP TRYING TO DESTROY SOMEBODY ELSE's life. Leave the establishment product alone, and piss off!
I always trim the motor shaft, it allows different pinion diameters and with brass axle spacers you can set gearmesh perfectly when you change the crown gear. However, you're using the standard push fit crown gear so it makes no sense whatsoever to cut the motor shaft as you're also using push fit wheels, I can understand if you used alloy wheels and aftermarket crown but you've created a lot of work for zero gain, in actual fact it's probably going to run worse as superglue will wear away. If you must cut the motor shaft you'd be much better fitting split plastic washers over the axle to take up axle slop. Removing the magnet and adding ballast is the racers choice.
When the rules state that you must use stock parts, this works well. If there was no gain, we wouldn’t do it. I am happy that I could help you fill your free time.
Are you sanding out the actual dimples in the wheels or just excess plastic? Seems if you sand out the dimples itself taking a lot of material off and would need different tires?
See, just look at the insane humans you've created! Leave carrera alone and just go away! All you're doing is pushing up the value of UNTOUCHED CARRERA PRODUCT. haven't you learned how the value of perfect condition cars ALWAYS GO WAY UP IN VALUE. Full size or scaled down version. Nobody is gonna pay you money for your butchered slot car in the future. The more you keep talking, the more my bank account goes up!
Cause you loose your investment value and joe from down the road laughs at you cause he sold his perfect condition slot car for $30,000 and your butchered version is worthless.
It's cheaper to just throw your money in the trash can! Butchered carrera slot cars are worthless in the future. If you want to modify, you're also agreeing to buy 6 units of each model car you decide to buy. If you buy less than 6 cars of the same model, then you're classified as being something else. Such as a 'consumer' who ends up with NO investment in the game, and no products which actually work 20 years from now, etc... Etc... You haven't bought in ENOUGH QUANTITY to be able to start modifying cars. Middlemen have been robbing you for decades already, its time you wise up and realise you can't afford this game and the future heartache you'll get from your modded old things game. If you want the faster car, YOU BUY THE NEXT MODEL NEXT YEAR!
@@drsaleen88 Bruce, You use to have "tuned" cars on your website for sale at one time. Are you no longer doing this? Excellent tutorial and tips for DTM racers. Thank you!

I was just going to write that until I found your comment. Thanks for saving me some time.

it looks weird with lettered tires on the front and not the back.
Very imformative, thankyou for your video. Maybe a stupid question... but what brand of tire truing machine is that? Custom made?
Thank you. The one I'm using is call Area 3. The stopped making them years ago. We now sell the CG Tire Truer. You can find them on our site.

yes
Any advice as to where to purchase a “grinder/tire truer” gizmo like what you use on your demo? Pretty nifty contraption.
we sell the truer for $180 and a guy here in town automates them for about $90.
I cannot believe that’s an entire wall of slot.it cars in the background
Very good tutorial! Did you do one for carrera 124 ? Especially concenrning weights.
Slot Car Hobby we don’t add weights to many of the D124 cars. The Porsche and Audi gets weight added to the running boards.
Great video!!! Very helpful!!!
Great! Thank you for watching.

Wow. Got impressed.

NO, we are not doing that. What we are doing is filling in the dimples and then lightly truing the wheels so they are round.
@@drsaleen88 what is the best filler?
@@cotyroy1170 we use the extra thick super glue.
great advice and video
Hi ! Love your videos just subscribed. Any chance of send me the plan for your track layout? Hoping to recreate the same
Thanks, email me at the shop. it's listed at the top of our site.
I have a question. do different tracks have different widths of places where the car is inserted
noVo carrera d132 and d124 are the same.
ok.
thanks
How do you remove the plastic wheels from the axle on a Carrera car? I've read the wheels are pressed on.
Why do you want to remove the wheels from the axles? You don't need to to true them.
@@drsaleen88 I don't have a tire truer that can accept the full rear axle assembly. So I would need to have at least one wheel taken off.
ah, got it. i think once you get them off, you'll never get them back on correctly. You'd be better off going with aluminum wheels.

POR FAVOR, PODRIA ESTAR SUBTITULADO EN ESPAÑOL. GRACIAS
what motor do u use. try Plasma Dash from Tamiya
we use the stock motor. it makes for closer racing.
Why not just glue the tires on from the back side of the wheel/tire?
I glue both sides so when I'm truing them both sides stay tight against the rim. Otherwise the non glued side has the potential to lift during truing.

I agree. Motors naturally break in over time. And he removed the magnets so it slides more, then does all this work so it slides less.
