Riding a Triumph Bonneville T120 along the Causeway Coastal Route

  • A motorcycle ride along the Causeway Coastal Route in Northern Ireland has been on my bucket list for quite some time. So a few free days and a (mostly) dry weather forecast meant an opportunity I couldn't miss. I packed up a few bags and wheeled the Triumph Bonneville T120 out of her short hibernation for a last minute road trip.
    This video is part 1 of a 2 video series, so make sure you stick around for the second part where I'll finish the route and make a quick stop into my history.
    I hope you enjoyed this short film; if you did, please check out some of my other videos and I hope that you'll leave a Like or consider Subscribing to the channel. Your Like or Subscription lets UA-cam know that you've enjoyed the video, which in turn helps push it out to more people. It's one of the most genuine ways to support the channel, it costs nothing at all and if you ever want to unsubscribe, it's just a simple click or tap away.
    If you'd like more information on the channel, the bike or my travels, please feel free to hop over to my website where you can find articles, photos and journals on everything Classic Rides.

    Lovely video. Finally some commentary, soothing like the waves gently lapping on the shore.
    Just around the corner from the Giant's Causeway is Rathlin Island where in 1898 Marconi made the first telegraphic radio transmission between there and the mainland at Ballycastle.

    Finally I got a chance to watch this first episode tonight.... after seeing the trailer posted on Instagram a number of days ago. That trailer set a high bar for my expectations, and I haven't been disappointed. Taking the the time to set up and execute the B-roll/3rd person shots really elevates the overall production, and as others have already commented, the effort made to pair the visuals with an excellent soundtrack really pays off. I know it's being my running gag to compare your work with our Norwegian friend, but maybe his work will soon be described as "Matt McFadden-esque"....

    Lovely! I am putting my GoldWing up for sale this week in order to make room in the garage for a T-120
    Side point: my wife and I were at Giants Causeway in 2018. It was packed with tourist the day we were there. Looks peaceful on your trip. And the castle is stunning. We stopped there as well. We were in the UK and Ireland \ Northern Ireland for 14 days visiting friend’s.

    • @ClassicRides
      @ClassicRides  Місяць тому +1

      I imagine the T120’s going to feel a bit small for a while after your Wing, equally lovely bikes I’d say though.
      Yes the Causeway is usually crammed full of people, luckily for me I’m an early riser so got there before the masses arrived, it’s much nicer that way!

      @ClassicRides I should have given you my number. I have a Scots friend. My age. His tests are mid-August. If he passes, he's getting a Royal Enfield. Not sure which one. Probably a 350. Anyway, we're going to do the NC 500 of you fancy it? If not, maybe we could try something else? Just a thought. We don't have to feature in your video. Just thought it would be a good crack! It might be good to get his take on motorcycling as a beginner in his 50's. I've only had my full licence for 15 months. Learnt a lot, though. Anyway, look after yourself mate. ☕️🏍👍👍😀😀
