    I really appreciate you actually putting your dogs on a leash if someone is coming by. I have an intense fear of dogs that I’ve never met before especially if they’re big. Barking also makes the anxiety worse so if they’re unleashed and barking it’s really scary for me. My boyfriend usually gets in between me and the dog if we happen to pass one. I do love dogs it just takes time for me to feel comfortable around them, I’ve had some bad experiences with dogs. I was actually quite surprised it only took me a half hour to feel comfortable around my boyfriends dog. He just wanted to give and receive some love.

    I’ve always known this “walk away recall” I didn’t know why it works but it works a charm. The way you explained it though is spot on. Thanks.
    Also you have a very calming voice.

    You should write a book if you haven't already. I love the way you inform people about dogs.

    Have you ever thought about having training sessions with groups of people to learn proper dog training techniques? You are such a good teacher!

    I've been binge watching your videos and just subscribed! I love the way you have trained your dogs and you know your stuff! I'm about to get my first cane corso, can you do a video on off leash training? What are the skills you feel they need to know and when is the right time to release them?

    this video is awesome. you've described my dog to a T. she's buck nutty and I try this all the time but everyone tells me just let her go "be a dog" then things happen because she just runs up on dogs and doesn't greet them first!

    I'm just subscribed to your channel, I was wondering if you have a website, could you send a link. I would love to make a home for one or a couple of them.

    she is 100% like my girl dog.... she's six now. I intuitively used the same recall tactics with her but I didn't keep her on the leash much and forced her to execute commands. I felt sorry for her when she was whining. I wish the breader had warned me about her personality so I could have been less lenient in the first year.

    I have tried walking away before and when was a puppy it used to work quite well but whenever i go to actually grab her collar she ducks and dives away and then the game of 'cant catch me' begins. How do i fix this please?

      When you do capture you put her in submissive posture and hold her there and tell her that she was a bad girl and then you let her up you walk away a little bit tell her to come along. As soon as she starts to come along with you give her lots of praise and encouragement.

    Are you worried about rattlers? My dad lives in TN which has a similar climate to Texas and he rarely takes his dogs into areas with tall grass because he lost his first dog to a rattler. Not sure if they're in Texas tho! In any case, keep an eye out for slithering things!

    It's great to see this kind of real world training. Any plans to make videos about canine aggression? I've always wondered how to control my dogs when they have been 'provoked', such as by ill-mannered kids who yell/run around or by people who visible ooze fear on the sight of a dog.

    • @fatjoe1251
      @fatjoe1251 6 років тому

      if ur dog gets 'provoked' by kids running or yelling,ur dog seriously needs training. that can escalate quickly. seems like ur dog doesnt have a high tolerance level,gotta fix that with repetetion

    • @ajayalmighty
      @ajayalmighty 6 років тому

      He's fine with kids that he is familiar with, that come to the house for example, but when he's out for a walk he's more vigilant and doesn't seem comfortable with unfamiliar kids 'teasing' him, whistling and then running away etc. . I've been giving him corrections for years and now he knows to focus on his walk when I so much as tighten his leash, but the maturity to completely ignore them by himself isn't there yet.

    • @SenzaTempoCaneCorso
      @SenzaTempoCaneCorso  6 років тому +3

      ajayalmighty the best thing to do for that kind of situation is to make him sit there calmly while you expose him to things that trigger him. His entire job will be to sit there and ignore the things that upset him that's how you fix that.

      You could work engagement with him. Everytime kids run by or whatever give him a high value reward(treat,toy,praise) something he wants more then anything else and have him focus on you, maybe do some training or something between the two of you. Eventually he'll figure out that though triggers meant awesome time with his favorite human and will ignore them

    Also on recall reese is stubborn and won't come he is also distracted by smells or other animals. Even when you walk the other way he won't come. The only time he will is when were outside on leash working on obedience. He is truth worthy off leash but him coming when called and not having to worry about him being a butt would be great
