When I first started playing this video I was like this thing won’t last 1 minute. I’ve had a Mavic Air for about 3 weeks and am stupidly apprehensive of even flying 200m to 300m away without panicking. What this thing endures defies belief. Gives me a maaaasive confidence boost. I know the drone is more capable of what I’m willing to try but good job man. Awesome video.
I think these guys are paid by DGI and we don't know how many drones they used to make this video. Mine fell 4 feet not even moving forward and broke like an egg. I'd be very careful with it as I am when I get it back from being repaired. Luckily I found a guy to replace the back right arm and motor for $80.
@@paramandans my first drone was a dji spark, it fell from 70 meters high cause I didnt put the battery properly and the drone just turn off, the drone survived without a scratch but the battery died with the crash.
Crashed my drone right after i opened it up from the box and flew it. After seeing this vid, i felt much better.

Lol! Me too. Crashed my mavic air on the first day on a night flight. Ran into some trees. Made the mistake of testing return to home without fully understanding it. It’s now lost it’s right rear arm and away from me for a week :(

Bought/lost my first Spark 2 years ago flying from inside on 10th floor to outside - it freaked out going from barometric pressure to GPS - and never came home. Been afraid to try it with Spark 2 and Mavic Air 1. Glad to see you show it can be done, Thanks!

The spark only has a single camera at the bottom for VPS so the spark couldn't rely on it for positioning when you fly outside as the VPS only have a range of 30 meters (100 ft).
Since it doesn't know where the take off point was, it probably landed when it lost signal.
The Mavic Air uses 6 cameras for VPS so even if you fly it outside the air can still use the cameras on the front or back for positioning and will remain stable like shown in this video. However, we don't recommend flying it through a window as it may not be able to use VPS in certain conditions like at night or when it's unable to spot a pattern using the VPS.

I tried flying through and abandoned building today with no obstacle avoidance and it survived, these drones are awesome
Alot of people give hate to people who do durability tests but what they dont realize is it gives the viewers alot more confidence to actually do what they want to do. I never would have done half the stuff I do now with my drone if I hadn't seen this video. I'm able to have alot more fun.

I attached a 360 camera to my air and was a little worried about the stability. This has certainly eased those worries.

My very first solo flight I crashed mine off first story balcony to the cement curb. I about died an was sure it was gone. I was amazed I only sheered 2 rotors an small scrape. Has flown perfect ever since. Absolutely astounding!

How does the Mavic air Emergency shut off?
Hold the sticks outwards from the center and pull down both sticks for 3 seconds until it shuts off.
my drone crashed when i flew it for the first time .. it was not following any commands that i gave from remote control ..it just took off and started heading in unilateral direction.. when i pressed land button on remote or app it would not accept it ,,, any advice or cautions to take before flying ..???
Make sure that there's no magnetic interference before calibrating the compass and before taking off.

awesome video! can I know what mode are you at when you are in indoor which allow the Mavic air to track back the original location 4:44 ? and also which mode are you at to make it fly from indoor to outdoor & back 5:13 ? it's so cool.
At both 4:44 and 5:13 it was in (Normal) P mode where it position itself using the visual position system (consisting of 6 cameras in front, behind and below)
Tech Guy i did try once to fly my mavic air out from indoor to outdoor, when it doesnt come back due to a indoor shelter coverage and it needs to be force landing on the 1st floor of my apartment. Wonder what went wrong on my settings?

Can you please put it into the water for a day or two and then put it into a bag of rice for 3 days and then see if it will still work for me please, thanks I see on UA-cam that the mavic pro fell into water for 7 days and still working, so I like to know if the mavic air can do the same please let me know thanks you
Hmm, I think that's too extreme. All we can say is that it still works till this day after the water balloon test. There's also a sort of hydrophobic coating on the motherboard just like the Mavic Pro so it's highly likely able to do the same thing.
How is the connection when theres a building among u n ur mavic air?
Mostly fine within line of sight and within 1.5 km (0.93 miles). However the signal will surely drop when there's a building between the Mavic Air and the remote controller.
What if that situation happened to mavic pro? Does the signal drop like with the mavic air?
Depends on what kind of building, some building blocks more signal than others. Mavic Pro signal is more robust and therefore won't drop when it's behind certain buildings but the signal will be weakened.
Mavic Air's signal however will drop when it's behind any kind of building.
Tech Guy is it bcause the wifi? So imo occu sync could give better signal for the drone

It was a bit painful to watch but that poor little drone took really well whatever you throw on her. That's one durable little device! Now I feel more confident with mine, but I'll keep being as careful as I could. Just in case.
