Wow! This video is incredible. Major lesson for me, DO NOT BORROW HAIR. Thanks a lot JennJ for your time and love for both your hair and that of others. You're like a rare gem😍🥰
When I saw your advice a few weeks back about the borrowing (on IG), I was like "Okay!" lol. Then I told my subbies that you told me not to borrow. I hope they listened to us. LOL, no seriously that was the best piece of advice ever! I loved how effortless the take down process was since not borrowing. THANK YOU!
This video comes at the right time as I will be taking my mini twists out today. I have had mine in for 3wks and my hair and scalp is ready for wash day. Thanks for the video
This is the best takedown of mini twist that seems so easy. I like that you had minimum amount of shedding. 🙌🏾🙌🏾 Great 👍 video but I don't think that 🤔 will ever be doing this hairstyle because of time consuming. I remember doing my daughter hair with the plastic straws and I said then not ever will I do a hairstyle which requires a lot of time. 💘 the video again! Keep bringing us great content to⌚!
Keep 'em coming!!!... I low-key felt disappointed by the fact that you didn't show us the "aftercare routine" after a protective style. Anyway...maybe it's your next vid?
not bad. I did it over the course of 3 days. I just wish I knew it’d be better to use oils to take down my hair. I just used a spray bottle and a hair butter
I’f been toying with getting micro locs and because of my video searches your video came up. I decided to wear mini twist this summer because I like the versatility of my loose hair. Thanks for uploading this video and your mini twist install video🙂
Shrinkage on point!!! Yes for the dedication to remove the knots since that will definitely help with length retention 😊 And what!!! You are Haitian too!!! 🇭🇹 aye!!!!!!
LOL!....suicide mission....funny. Been there...don’t do it to yourself 🤣. I borrow because one, I didn’t know it was a thing., I just be trying to get the hairstyle over and done with. Two, because I just grab hair when I am twisting and I don’t actually make for real parts. I just rip my borrowed hair apart from each other and generally don’t worry about knots; I just pull them. I need to do better. I like how you took your time with this. I may mini twist mine next wash day. I generally keep my in 4-6 weeks. I am excited to see your wash day and results....if you show it...using the product you showed us. I am currently using her stuff and trying to see how its working for me. Thanks for sharing.
Hey Jenn, I have a quick question. If you are in any protective style, for example the mini twists you did. How did you make sure your hair is moisturized? Or how did you apply oil/or whatever that kept it moisturized?
For me I'd moisturize as normal. Add leave in conditioner and baggie my hair for about an hour then rub in Shea butter and oil my scalp directly. I'd then out the twists in big plaits and leave sleep in them. This helps keep in the moisture as well as well as give the twists a twistout look essentially.
You can actually wear the twists out like a style too then detangle your hair in a couple Of days when that style wears out. I do that all the time and can wear it for a week with defined twist out. Also before you take the twists out the day before moisturize your hair very well.
When you said to your mom she used up all the products...lol and they act innocent ( 🇭🇹 mom ). I never thought of separating my hair in sections while undoing braids (smart). Great video
Great video! I have two questions... 1. My hair is heat damaged and so the ends of my hair doesn’t have any curl to it, however the roots are tightly curled. How do I get my curl pattern back without cutting my hair? 2. In styling your hair, do you put your butter cream on first and then the leave in conditioner or vice versa?
I heard that doing several protein treatments can eventually bring the curls back. (If ur not protein sensitive). But if it's too damaged to repair. U probably will have to cut it vaguely as your hair grows out.
I agree with the comment before me. Unfortunately, there is no repairing heat damage. When styling I do the opposite - Leave in first and then butter. Good luck sis
I find that I can NOT wash my twists. Some folks can do it, but I cannot. Makes them expand and then become matted - a nightmare to remove. So I generally try to get to my twists too wet and then they are super easy to remove with few knots.
This is exactly how I take down my twists. I also keep a pair of scissors to clip out fairy knots because I alwaysssss have them 🤬 finger detangling takes me so long but it’s soooo worth it!
Yes these knots are the worst! I need a trim entirely but am waiting to do it in June. I agree, finger detangling take longer but much gentler on your hair
Your hair is thriving since your second big chop after your relaxer! Is it true that your hair grows better when you relax it and then do another big chop? I just RELAXED my hair, and it got so TERRIBLY BURNT (video is on my UA-cam channel). Watching you makes me crave my natural 4c hair 😢. No regrets though, I am at a trial and error faze in my hair journey. I see myself going back to natural in the future. Take care doll, xo.
Hey! I don't think my hair is thriving because i had a relaxer but rather because I try to take better care of it now. After how burnt the relaxer gets your hair, you suddenly feel like you have to be EXTRA nice to be forgiven LOL
I needed this video because I'm not a fan of taking down twists because somehow i end up with coils and unravelling the coils is a mission lol (I try to separated the coil and end up with smaller coils...) getting worked up thhinking about it lol. it's also probably the way i twist but yea...
Is it a protective style if the twists are a bit bigger than yours (3-4 times the size)? Mini twists scare me but I want to keep up with protective styling because I can see some improvement on my hair.
My scalp felt a lil tender when i took mines out the other day. I'm must have been a lil rough.. I should have waited a few days then I would gave had your video to help me...lol I'm putting them back in this weekend to finish out my mini twist May strong. Lol
If those are mini twists then are maxi-plus. Yet I still struggle with major tangle and knotting. Just last night, as I was untangling, I decided that my hair doesn't like twists, and that twists are not my friend.
JENNN! You will not believe i began the style of mini twists last night ! After a couple of episodes of modern family I'm nearly done !! Maybe ill post a pic on Instagram or do a review on my channel! bUT YEAH ! Im eager to see how it will look in the end ! i cant lie i was thinking when i first started girlllll what is happening this looks cray ! but i think its coming together :)
I couldn't comment for a while now cause I didn't realize I needed to update the app.😌 Anyway, I did the mini twist and it lasted 3weeks (❤ it). Yesterday I planned on taking them out today, and boom, you post this😂. Freaky. I had hard time taking it out tho following your way😞....I had planned on getting it all wet before taking it out before I saw this post, why didn't u tho?
My hair SHRINKS a lot when it gets wet so I would have been fighting with shrinkage. I actually "wet" one twist with the apple cider vinegar and my hair shrunk even more making it harder to take out.
damn I looove your content JenJ, I learn so much but SWEAR TO GOD I can never watch you on Normal speed cause i might pass out into a deep sleep and never wake up. its gotta be X1.75 atleast
Wow! This video is incredible. Major lesson for me, DO NOT BORROW HAIR. Thanks a lot JennJ for your time and love for both your hair and that of others. You're like a rare gem😍🥰
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching! x
Girl you’re Haitian?! Okayyy. We love to see a fellow zoe 🇭🇹🇭🇹
I am 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
I was really wondering how she was gonna take this down when that mini twist video went up cause they were so small. Thank you for this video!
You are welcome 🙏
They aren’t even mini no more they are micro

Girllll I gotchuuuu! I hope they listened too because knots are NOT cute! Ain’t nobody gots the time 😂😂
Completed my my mini twists last weekend I love it perfect protective style with no hair added!
RIGHT??? I looooved them too! So easy to keep up with moisturizing. x
@@JennJackson yes!
Same!! I think it's sooo pretty with no hair added👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
This video comes at the right time as I will be taking my mini twists out today. I have had mine in for 3wks and my hair and scalp is ready for wash day. Thanks for the video
You are so welcome! Impeccable timing!
oh my god I never realized you were haitian
Haha I am 🙌🏽🙌🏽
Respect xoxo
"That's okay I think Jesus got me" my only excuse I use when I know I messed up...😁.
LOL right?? x
Very good technique. I saturate my hair with a leave in conditioner, I use V05 because it is cheap. Let my hair air dry then remove my twists.
Thanks for sharing!! That sounds like a great method! ,
Sis 🇭🇹 and our hair is the same length. We going grow this hair out together
Oh nice! YES WE CAN! lol x
You’re Haitian?!! OMG I got so happy when I heard you started speaking in creole. Ah! I love it
Using oil is definitely the key when taking down braids and twists...when I took my mini twists out a week ago it separated soooo smoothly
Exactly!!
The clip with ur Mama...lol..😂😍
Thanks uploading this again😘😘😘
My pleasure 😊 Thanks for coming back lol not sure what happened before :(

I loved hearing you speak Creole even if it wasn't much. I'm so happy to support a sista coming from the same little island as me!
Bel bagay!
it’s playing smoothly now! loved this new video btw
Oufff thank you am for coming back! ❤️❤️
Jenn Jackson of course!
I took mine down yesterday it took me two hours but they were not as tiny as urs and the shedding was so little I was amazed
Yes!! Such a great protective style! x
Keep 'em coming!!!... I low-key felt disappointed by the fact that you didn't show us the "aftercare routine" after a protective style. Anyway...maybe it's your next vid?
Oh.. I'm also wearing mini braids right now... We have a similar hair type, but mine is shorter. Dreading the take down. Great tips!
I have my wash day routine posted! Check it out . Link in the description box 🙌🏽
I should’ve watched this before taking mine out yesterday
My shedding is always bananas
Oh nooo! How did it go though?
not bad. I did it over the course of 3 days. I just wish I knew it’d be better to use oils to take down my hair. I just used a spray bottle and a hair butter
Same.... the shredding was ridiculous

Glad I could help! I think this is a great way to slowly transition to locs! x
I need those glasses... where you get them? Nice video btw, I'm actually doing mini twist today but I'm adding in hair 🤫😄
❤ you! Thank you for this...your hair is just like mine...unrelated question....where did you get those bomb glasses/frames??
I usually keep mine in for weeks before taking them down. In fact, I haven't taken mine out since before quarantine started.
Dang sis! I hope it all goes well when you take it down, x
This channel is soooooo underrated
Thank you sis
Shrinkage on point!!! Yes for the dedication to remove the knots since that will definitely help with length retention 😊 And what!!! You are Haitian too!!! 🇭🇹 aye!!!!!!

I love youuuuuuuu Jenn! You inspired me to do mini twists when I take my box braids down, hope I don’t look crazy 🤣🤗

Hi
I like the tip for removing mini twist. Where did you get your glasses?
🙂
Great video . 1. Can I use any almond oil in my regiment? I cant find any Haitian almond oil 😶😶
Love the intro😍😍
That intro 😂😂😂 and your mum finishing the product 💀😂 aww
Thanks for the re-upload.
No problem! I have no idea what happened before. YT trying to sabotage me lol
looks awesome. will u do them again?
I find that I can NOT wash my twists. Some folks can do it, but I cannot. Makes them expand and then become matted - a nightmare to remove. So I generally try to get to my twists too wet and then they are super easy to remove with few knots.
The twists looked so cute on u!! Twists tangles my hair at times 😩😣, especially on wash days smh
Oh no! I tried to not wash my hair in the twists. Do you wash with your hair out then?
Jenn Jackson i dooo, its not good to do that?
This is exactly how I take down my twists. I also keep a pair of scissors to clip out fairy knots because I alwaysssss have them 🤬 finger detangling takes me so long but it’s soooo worth it!

Yes twists in GENERAL are protective. I have maybe 10 twists in my hair right now and I pull them up into a bun for extra protection to my ends.
Jenn Jackson I’ll do them this weekend. Thank you.
So relaxing to watch ❤️ thank you 😊
Glad you enjoyed it!
100K Congratulations!
Y i buck my eyes when u said u haven’t been wearing ur bonnet , 😳 🤩
LOL
Showing my fellow Haitian sis some love on her page! lol
Great reference for when I get them and take them out
Exactly ❤️
Lol yesss i just took mines down. It was a process. Great video idea.
Thank you for watching sis ❤️

How long did you leave them in? I just did mines for the first time about 8 days ago and I did like a conditioner/cowash and re moisturized my hair.
Thanks for another great video!
Would you do this style again using no oils or butters?

You kept untwisting which is helpful versus untwisting at the top then pulling the twist apart
YES! Pulling the twist apart is a recipe for disaster!
