Did my driving test 5 years ago n failed. Was upset so I gave up. Decided to do it again and watched all your videos. They were very very helpful. Didn't even use an instructor just had a friend take me round the area of d test center because she lives there. I PASSED!!!. Thanks Francis. This was the manoeuvre I did btw. U made it very easy.
Aye. YOU'RE 100% correct there @3:57 when you said don't start steering and complicating things Francis. That's what I did on the test and over that simple oversteering I messed the test and couldn't the car's backside in again. It caused a lot of issues. Hopefully I crack it soon if I'm given this maneuver again.
This person is genuinely a good and experienced Instractor. I was told to do this in my exam and mark 2 minor faults done as my observation was poor when I was reversing I didn’t turn my head back I was just watching central mirror and secondly when I was reversing I was moving my steering to make my car more closets curb so please don’t do this as he already mentioned in the video.

4:49, wait am i missing something?, because that seemed more like a "two lorry length" than a car length from where you started, am i expected to do that in my test?
I failed on this exercise on my last test, my examiner shouted stop because I was getting too close to a parked van on the other side of the road and she was worried I would have blocked traffic in. I was absolutely heartbroken because it was an easy exercise and it was a shame I failed on it.

Can turn the steering slightly to the right to keep close to the kerbs? Won't this affect the front of the car?
Hi, I'm a bit confused, what do you mean by pulling up shallow to the curb? Also, did I understand this right- even though you have signalled, if there is oncoming traffic then you must wait to move over? Thanks!
Pulling up to the curb at a shallow angle would suggest that you are pulling up in a more horizontal manner, rather than vertical - Basically meaning that you want to avoid any harsh or sudden turns. Also, yes. You must wait until the road is clear until you move, even if you have used your signal. My old instructor said that when you are reversing you can take one hand off the wheel and recommend I held it at the bottom to stay straight, is that right??
My anxiety is getting the better of me and I'm making silly mistakes had 4 x 2 hour lessons. Never driven before no experience know what I need to do but panic and gets better of me .help
This manoeuvre gives me the creeps 🤣 Too concerned with keeping the speed down and looking around that I end up drifting away from the curb. Would genuinely rather be asked to parallel park on test lol

I failed this and felt devastated as I only had 10 min of my test left and 3 minors 😭 I ended up looking back and not seeing a car approach in front and stop the maneuver.

It's because of the wide angle camera lens that must be used in order to film the videos! You will be required to reverse, yes.

When I revere back the car always ends up slowly moving away from the curb. It’s annoying so I have to steer a little?
Every time I do this I either end up too far away from curb or I end up scraping the curb. What am I doing wrong?
