This is the most beautifull video I' ve ever seen. Tchaikovsky , Yuri Norstein and Ivan Ivanov among others...thanks to them I love Russian Culture, We should avoid CNN's news and look by our selves information about other countrys.
It is fascinating how music and pictures create poetry that touches on so many levels, much more then words, if done with this great sensibility.. love*
His animations were mt childhood's cartone animations,, i grew up watching them and they learnde me so much beautiful things in my life,,,,,, Thanks to Yuri Norstein.
Ochen' krasivo! :') napominaet menja o moem detstve - kak ja smotrela multfilmy na NTV. Mnogo iz nih byli takije grusnije i pe4al'nyje, no ne beznadezhnyje. kazhytse vot odin iz pri4in, no4emy my russkije (i kstatse vse slovjani) otli4aemsja ot drugih.....
@noglet76 I agree. What's sad is that even today, in our so-called "liberated" world, huge amounts of Russian art is still largely ignored. I suspect it is partly due to the Cold War, the permeation of all things American has had an opposite effect on Russian work. The amount of trivial media is truly staggering, how much shit the average media consumer gets through; this video only has 35thousand views.
It's from a selection called The seasons (as the film).. There is a piece for each month. In this film they've used November and I think the other one is june or something like that.
Beautiful. I actually think it would have been more poignant without the Winter scene however wonderful it may be. Does anyone know exactly which Tchaikovsky recording this is? I love how you can hear the room the music is played in.
"Seasons" - by Ivanov-Vano, not Norshtein. Ivanov-Vano made his next one, The Battle of Kerzhenets (1970) - in a collaboration with Yuriy Norshteyn. See en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ivan_Ivanov-Vano
The music when the moon came up was really wonderful. One thing really anoyed me, WHY did one of the horses on the slade run with his head turned backwards the entire time? It looked like he was running backwards.
In classical paintings horses are depicted like that quite a bit. I guess to keep the composition balanced. I think the horses being depicted like this is a reference to that.
That first piece of music, does anyone know what it is? Apparently by Tchaikovsky, but what is it? Neither Shazam nor SoundHound seem to be able to identify it.
It's Tchaikovsky's Autumn Song (October) from The Seasons, the piano and orchestra version. I don't know which specific recording is used here, but I listen to Georgii Cherkin's recording a lot. Here's the link: ua-cam.com/video/9VoNPfV4avY/v-deo.html
just that annoyed you?! I found the whole thing empty, without a story, and that annoyed me. Too many shortcuts used in the animation. Reminded me of Vampire Hunter D in how it had so many shortcuts used. :P
Il n'y a pas de mots pour décrire...: c'est ravissant, délicat; cela fait appel aux sens. Merci!

Спасибо, спасибо, Юрий Борисович...
Great work. I've never seen such a beautiful and imaginative movie. And it visualizes the atmosphere of Tchaikovsky’s music.

Blame Russia who actively engages in shutting down the work of its own artists.

Merry Christmas ⛄

So true!i think it was an error of the animation

They use both october AND november in it.
Why not mention the director, Ivanov-Vano in the title?
What is this recording?
Yuri's style reminds me of the Tarkovsky's Stalker vibe.

Wonderful film, one of the best animations ever. However, I believe that it is by the great Ivan Ivanov-Vano, not by Norstein.
I believe it is a collaboration between the two. Both were given credit on one of the DVD's in the series called 'Masters of Russian Animation'

sorry my mistake, but november's the one I wanted to know the name of even though i didnt really specify
My friend, Why not check out the animations on the aniboom website? There's some very good material there.
Music by Tchaikovsky.....!!!!!!!!
What is the name of the song that plays when it's snowing?
hey. could someone, tell me the story of this? i am getting more and more confused.
in soviet rusiia, animation creates you
Lina :)
not much of a story behind this one. And I LOVED hedgehog in the fog!!! Tchaikovsky was the only thing good about this, I thought.
Well... good luck with finding any meaning or beauty, and may life not pass you by.
