Rutger Hauer (RIP) played his role perfectly as an unhinged caffeine addicted, no sleep, paranoid cop who's hunting something that no one believes him as to what it really is. This movie is a must for all Cyberpunk fans.
FFS, I wonder if they basically just made him a redhead for the Jake Armitage character in Shadowrun.

Film is amazing. It's like, halfway through, the movie and the characters in it become self aware of their own absurdity and decide to have some fun with it.
Kim Cattrall has been in so many good/weird things but is only (and sadly) remembered for her Sex and The City role.

She was by far the best part of that show lol. She's an underrated actor.

I remember finding this little gem in a Blockbuster with my best friend. It was mind blowing - immediately became a favorite. Rutger Hauer did so many incredible cult movies, like this, Hitcher, Hobo with a Shotgun, Blind Fury, and Blood of Heroes. He was an incredible actor.
Please don't remind me of the L.A. riots - not only did they get to the end of the block on either side of where I worked, but I'd been scheduled to work in a video filming that weekend, and I was never able to reschedule.

I actually watched this for the first time earlier this week! Despite a few gaping plot holes it's a lot of fun. Apparently the director quit before it was finished, hence the additional director credit at the end. And congratulations RedEye!

Rutger is always great. Nice to see him in this, which looks like it borrows from his biggies, Nighthawks and Blade Runner. I remember his co-Star from Jeremy Brett’s “Hound of the Baskervilles.” I had to look him up… I was sure I recognized him from somewhere. While I was on IMDb, I saw Rutger made a movie every month.
Love me some Rutger Hauer, especially when he play weirdos in weird films like this. I don't think he's ever played a character who's right in the head. Always good though, regardless of the movie. Maybe you'll get around to The Hitcher and Blind Fury because they're genuinely awesome B-movies.

@@cobracyxx8808 Yeah, probably. Bleeders maybe? He's in a *lot* of movies. He's also in Wanted: Dead or Alive where he takes down an Arabic terrorist played by .... Gene Simmons. That sure is a casting choice.
@@larshansson1953 Wanted: Dead or Alive was one of my fave films of his in my youth, the grenade based ending was awesome, "Fuck the bonus". On a different note, he even managed to make Guiness adverts cool AF.

I was in this movie (and in a couple of the clips you used), it was a load of fun, total madness. All night shoots in flooded abandoned factories. I got in trouble because my head was too big for the leather cap so I didn't wear it! Rutger was a really nice guy, he found it really funny when I emptied the water from my boots on to a very annoyed Kim Cattrall. I feel. So lucky to have had the opportunity to have met him.
Have you reviewed Project Shadowchaser? It's another low budget British 90s sci-fi thriller, I think you'll enjoy it.

I've never seen scenes from this movie, but it looks better than the impression I'd gotten from seeing it in the video store and people saying how bad the creature looked. The movie almost looks like a cross between a British I Come in Peace, Blade Runner, and Mad Max. Was Pete Postlewaite really not that big a deal before The Usual Suspects?

This one is a classic of the era - cheap, nasty, stupid and violent... but so so so much fun. The banter between Dirkin and Stone is top notch laughs all the way and the pacing keeps throwing random insanity at you the entire time. Watch it.

This is one of those movies I saw as a kid and had no idea what it was called. It honestly wasn't until 2019 that I found the name and rewatched it and to my surprise completely held up for me.

back in the day when I was a kid I just got done playing shadowrun on the super Nintendo then a couple months later I watched split second on cinemax late at night and I thought the movie was actually from the super Nintendo game shadowrun because the character just looks like rector Howard same same black leather clothing and glasses and everything also I was confused because it was called split second instead of shadowrun but this is still a good entertaining movie
