Note that if you want to have your DSM login page to be public and on your own custom domain, the same steps apply except you need to enter instead of no port on the end at 6:07. Then use an Access Application to lock it down: Ryder.link/cloudflare/zero-trust/video. Then you can disable QuickConnect in Control Panel.
So today I rewatched this video because after changing internet provider things stopped working. Foud out that I had to edit the tunnel and change the IP-adress to the new network. Now the website is up and running again...... Wishing you a great new yeare
This actually worked pretty good! My only issue is that even after changing the www to cname and adding the tunnel to the target I still can’t access the website with www in front of the address
I created a Docker-run PHP website on my Synology NAS. I did every step the same except for when you chose Static Site, I chose Docker containerized. But for somereason my domain name doesn't resolve to my actual PHP website? Also HOW DO I CONNECT TO MY DATABASE VIA PHPMYADMIN OR SOMETHING? Looking forward to an answer. Thanks~ (when i try to access a the info.php file that shows the current PHP version, it says "File not found." error :( how to fix whats going on?)
it doesn't work. if i put the ip from the router, it opens my access. but if i put the ip to the nas it doesn't work anymore, why? are there any settings that should be made in the nas?
Correct me if I'm wrong. You mentioned about DSM login, is this something like this? For DSM Login Domain->"your domain" and the URL -> "NasIP:5000". But if I want to run my website from NAS , do I need to setup like this one? Domain-> "your domain" URL->"NasIP without port or need to put 80/443 port". Is that correct?
Thank you for this video. Very well made. A+ Q: is it port for DSM neet to point to NAS in router (world > router > synology)? or tunells take care this?
I just followed this tutorial for self-hosting my website. But the site doesn't resolve from the host side (error 502 bad gateway) I double-checked the settings following this tutorial twice and all my settings match yours. I'm not terribly savvy with website stuff like this any help resolving would be appreciated.
Good day Ryder Cragie, can I ask you if you have a free website already in cloudflare? Because I try to follow your steps and I have something wrong in part of inserting subdomain, domain name and IP address of NAS?
I get this error when trying to save at the 6:31 mark of you video. ( Error: Could not route to /zones/undefined/dns_records, perhaps your object identifier is invalid?. No route for that URI ). So i'm guessing i need to buy a domain name or get a free one ?
I followed all your steps. the container shows a green light and in cloudflare it shows the status "healthy". when I just enter my local IP it loads the website as expected, but with my routed domain it doesn't load anything. what am I missing? are there any additional steps necessary in cloudflare? thank you very much!
Following your steps I noticed some differences when I was following along. 1.) When you cut and paste the docker command your view still shows all the items you removed in the notepad string. Why is that?? I only had "tunnel run..." and the service did connect but when I was adding the hostname to the tunnel I am getting an error for my domain name saying the Zone is not associated with the current account. Answer: I had to add my domain and and change the name servers to cloudflare. I'll see what happens once they change. Thanks for the video. I'll see what happens tomorrow. May have need some more DNS configurations for the hosting change.
Just watched this video again and am going to try to get things working but you are quite fast so at moments I fail to see where exactly you are adding or changing something.

He tabs over to cloudflair tab on his browser, which was open from the start of the video. I believe it’s a 3rd part site/service that you will have to sign up for. They do have a free version, but you have to add a credit card to “purchase” the free plan.

I’m not a fan of Wordpress and find it very complicated. I imagine you just upload the Wordpress files into the relevant folder in File Station then configure in Web Station as shown.

You shouldn’t need to change any DNS records. Do the configuration in Zero Trust and the DNS side is automatic.
Do I have to use a service like cloudflare? Is there a way to not have to use another third party product ?
Hey Ryder thank you for this video. Very well made concise and informative

Nope. That’s the joys of Cloudflare Tunnels.
Which model support it and also RAID 5 support

Does it required Static Ip address for Hosting a Website from Internet Service Provider ????

all these requires first to have a domain name connected to cloudflare
