My Grandma always wanted to see this. It is on her bucket list but she hasn’t been able to go and she is so excited about this
Certainly much more pleasant to watch than the current news!
I agreed!!
YES!!!
Just as I remembered. Was fortunate to see a few years back in Elkmont and it was so magical. Was not able to capture the beauty with a camera but so good to see it again. Thank you.
Thank you so much! It was like hearing a symphony for the first time. I haven't seen fireflies in years, but they appear magical to me still. The end of the show was just like fireworks when they do a bunch at the end. I swear I could see a beautiful musical composition from their show! Thank you! I'm too sick to ever get out and see such beauty, so it was special for me :-)
This is going to be lit 🔥🧚🏽
I’ve seen it in person and it’s unbelievable...you’re just surrounded by them
no
Loved it! Never seen anything like this before. Watched this with my client who has Parkinson’s, who was very engaged and exited to see the beautiful and peaceful landscape. Thank you 🙏🏼
Amazing!! So beautifully filmed and uplifting...thank you to all those who created the experience and shared with us
Thank you! I live in CO and we do not have fireflies. But I grew up on the east coast and loved fireflies. They are a very fond childhood memory.
I grew up in wisconsin and live in Oregon, No fireflies here either. I sure miss them,.
Tried to win a lottery before to go see the fireflies. Thanks so much for organizing the virtual event! We loved the peaceful views, nature sounds and the amazing fireflies! 👍 Special thanks for educating us about this interesting creatures.
Our wooded acre in Indiana was full of millions of lighting bugs when I was a child in the 1950's and 1960's.
It was wonderful and peaceful. Just wish it would have lasted longer as it got darker. Thank you!
Fireflies are suuch a magical delight to experience 🔥✨
I LOVE fireflies. This, with the sound of the running water, is beyond beautiful. Thank you for doing this!!
Something I have truly missed since I moved from NW Alabama. Thank you.
Waiting twenty years for this. Love it
Fireflies or lightning bugs as we always called them are one of the best things about summer🥰
And catching them in a jar
Thank you!!!
I learned about this from a coworker of my wife's at the Tennessee Treasury. I shared the link along on Facebook; if you're reading this please do the same. My family and I are looking forward to this! Thank you to the organizers and all involved! I'll be making our $5 suggested donation, and have offered the folks in my friends list to cover the donation for the first four of their families if they let me know if they call them "fireflies" or "lightning bugs". Being that I grew up in Illinois, they'll probably always be lightning bugs to me.
Since no one has posted it it seems: 14:15 starting time to repeat the viewing.
You did that! This was absolutely spectacular and relaxing. Thank you.
Muchas gracias por esta bella experiencia quienes hemos tenido la oportunidad de ir a un lugar de estos es indescriptible el verlo en vivo
This is awesome, thank you for filming it for us!
It's me again thanks guys I'm going to watch it over and over
Nicely done! This is informative as well as beautiful. Thank you DLIA, Chrissy Keuper, Dr. Kuhn and Radim. A special shout out to Lynn Faust, whose name I saw on several slides.
Definitely shout out to Lynn Faust and her amazing work!
Love this! Thought I knew about lightning bugs... nope. Learned so much.in the talk by Will Kuhn, and the video is lovely. Thanks. I'm going to make a donation.
Thank you-what a nice way to end the day.
Thank you :)
YAY! I've been wanting to experience this for some time. I’m thrilled you’re doing a virtual event. I have my calendar marked and have told my kids. Thank you.
Dr. Kuhn is the bestest!!

The kiddos and i enjoyed right before bed. That was informative and BEAUTIFUL! Thanks so much for that presentation. :)
Woo-hoo! I found out about this just in time! God is Good!
Kids can't wait to see some fireflies!!!! We even let them stay up past bedtime :p
Applause! Very nice.

Been in person and it is awesome.
I love this!! My first time to see it!
Wow! Thank you!
But I loved the presentation I could fall asleep listening to it I've grew up in Michigan and I love fireflies I used to catch them and put in the jar when I was a kid and then let them go Hope that was okay
ive never seen a firefly befor this will look supa cool
Looking forward to this. Tried to see the fireflies some years ago from Sugarland Visitor Center in Gatlinburg but too many people were trying to take flash photos and it was not a good firefly show that night.
The kids are about to tune out. Get on with it.
This is a good exercise in being patient and just watching to see what Mother Nature does best.
My Girl Scouts are really excited to learn and watch this event!!! Thank you so much!
Thank you so much for bringing this amazing experience to us!,
I can not wait!
Hermoso...😍
This is amazing! I would have loved it even more if it had been in 3D or with a 360 camera to look l around. I live in the UK now and haven't seen lightning bugs in over a decade. They don't live here. 😏
I only thought that we, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA, were the only ones that called them lightning bugs! Or, as my son with special needs calls them, light up bugs!
Looking forward to this!!!
Looking forward to the display
Hi I am for Atlanta
Very Interesting. Thanks!
This is cool. Reminds m of when I was growing up but we didn’t get the running water and beautiful landscape. This would be better to watch when it’s darker out and not washed out by natural light.
I’ve never lived in an area that has these. Really cool.
ya
Can’t wait. Grew up camping and hiking in the smokies but never saw this.
same here
Woo hoo!
Beautiful!
Hello from Helen, GA
I love fireflys there so cute.
This would make for a great living-room wall ..
So looking forward to this ! Thank you

@@DiscoverLifeinAmerica Thank you so much! I'll make sure to give proper credit to you page.
Can't wait to see this!! Never happens mid-Pacific.
Ohhh lightning! Is that a good thing for LIGHTNING BUGS?
It's just a black screen with a man talking. Is this normal?
It’s done?
Waiting

Are fireflies warm or cold blooded
Cold-blooded, like all insects. The light is cold as well - pure light, no heat.
Missed ours last year here in Ontario, Canada, likely missing them again this year...looking forward to this! 😊
Amazing!
I can't wait!
Hello from Round Rock, TX
grew up in the south now living in colorado.
Hi from Concord, NC
So exciting!!
So fly. Why are all the lights diamond shape? Real or an artifact of the lense or something?
I think it's the fireflies not being exactly in the focal plane and I'm guessing the diamond shape has to do with the lens
Very nice
Has anyone tried to see this in person? We were going to go this year, sadly... wondering what it's like to try to get there
It's on my bucket list!
@@suzanneleopard430 me too!! I can't wait to see this tonite
I saw it in person years ago. It's really impressive. Definitely worth doing when Covid is history.
I have seen the fireflies in person. It is incredible to witness! I go every year.
Have put this on my bucket list. Hope to see it in person on day.
Never got selected in the lottery to come in person. This will be great!
Will this be available on the same link after?
Yes it will!
How can we donate?
You can donate here: dlia.org/donate-now/ Thanks for your support!
Will this be recorded? I'd love to see this, but I'm in the UK. The screening will be 1am for me...
It looks like it will be brilliant.
Yes it will! You can watch it later at the same link 😀
Would this be good to recommend to my kindergarten class to watch?
Yes! The presentation is designed for an adult audience, so they might not understand all of it, but there are engaging visuals and they will probably get the big concepts like predators/prey and mating. They could also tune in at about 8:15 when the firefly footage begins.
I have no sound....??
YAY!!!

Does anyone know if this will be available to watch after the LIVE event?
Yes it will! You can watch it later at the same link per DLIA
